Meanwhile, the Doctor has been spotted on some kind of monitoring system. Techrat, a technological genius minion, identifies the TARDIS and informs his boss, Eric Raymond, that a Time Lord has arrived, thus providing the means that will allow them to find the source of the Holograms’ unusual power.

Raymond, one-time partner of Jerrica Benton’s father, owner of the Starlight music company, and thorn in the Holograms’ side ever since, is pleased.

The Doctor plans to go backstage to try to find out how it is that Jem and the Holograms are using technology that shouldn’t be available to them on Earth in the ’80s.

The 6th Doctor has taken Mel to Earth to attend a concert.

Robert Dudley visits Queen Elizabeth in her chambers, but the mood is different now. Formal, distant. With the suspicion falling about Dudley regarding the death of his wife, fueled by his enemies at court, Elizabeth is forced -however reluctantly- to step back from her favorite to secure her position.

Back in UNIT HQ, 1974, Beverly is reading up on the period and fiddling with the rosary. The Brig comes to see her. He asks her about the rosary and Beverly tells him it’s a gift from an “old friend”. The Brig tells her to tell the Doctor to check in before he goes gallivanting around history.

NOT THE END

The Doctor urges Robert Dudley to come back to court before he gets discovered with Amye’s body. Almost too late, he agrees. The Doctor and Beverly bring him back to the TARDIS and Amye’s body is discovered.

The Doctor explains to Beverly why they mustn’t change history.

The Doctor heads out to the TARDIS to get what he needs to deal with the Stalker, Beverly stays with Robert Dudley to make sure he doesn’t remove Amye’s body. Far from it, Robert is a broken man and he mourns over his wife and regrets how neglectful he’d become.

The Doctor manages to trap the entity’s life force in a canister when Beverly storms out to confront him and demand that they go back in time to save Amye from the Stalker.

Amye falls down the stairs and dies. The Stalker goes for Dudley, but Beverly pushes him out of the way. The Stalker comes face to face with the Doctor who shovels a substantial amount of salt at it, causing it to dissipate in self defense.
