Looking through the logos it’s seems like it’s going to Jon Pertwee. the third doctor.

I agree… the swirling background with that logo looks 3-ish. The movie used essentially the same logo but (I think) on a star field. The BBC site, as well as bbcamerica.com (no idea if there’s any mirror for Canada) have a short video with the first 10 logos, released as part of the hype leading up to the new logo for 11. (I think they got to 10 by having a very subtle change in the orange saucer-shape at some point.)

Definitely the Third Doctor, from one of his first four seasons. That would mean either Liz Shaw or Jo Grant. The title sounds like something Bary Letts would have produced, so I’m guessing it’s Jo (Pertwee’s first season was planned by outgoing producer Derrick Sherwin, who had a somewhat more scientific and less mystical style than Letts). Given the word Norfolk in the title, it’s set on Earth, so I’ll hazard a guess that UNIT is around somewhere……
Definitely UNIT will be involved — in the teaser art a few panels back Rich had the original UNIT insignia. If it’s ‘high point’ Third Doctor we’ll have the ‘UNIT family’ of Jo, Yates, Benton and the Brig… before poor Yates…. well, that would be telling, wouldn’t it? ; >

Ah, Pertwee. The Doc that loved to ride around in vehicles, and thought he knew which levers in the TARDIS did what, since Pertwee tried to correct directors some times when they told him to do flip certain switches to do various things. Also, his penchant for “reverse the polarity of the neutron flow” comes from a scene he had to film that was very heavy on techspeak. There was supposed to be several different lines for what he did, but he forgot quite a few of them, but remembered the reversing of flow polarity, and thus it stuck. Ahh, things you learn from Doctor Who commentary tracks.
I’ll go make some popcorn.

Though I am thrilled at the coming of a Third Doctor story, I hope that sometime down the line you will revisit Eight and Janette.
