All right, I had to….I just discovered that I actually have a box of Oatmeal Crisp in my cabinet. I was looking for something else and found it, got it recently too. I guess that means I’m protected from LaCroix, perhaps, hmmmm?

War 6, I remember it well…

The teapot is a reference to a vignette written by an FK fanfic writer who went by the screen name Tippi (iirc, the same one who did the vignette with LaCroix reforming inside Nick’s vacuum cleaner – she was a master of the absurd).

It’s mentioned in Black Buddha that LaCroix bought the Raven from Janette “For a song.” Which song? Why, “I’m a little teapot,” of course…

I’m half -expecting that the part where Detective Donald Schanke and Captain Amanda Cohen are about to take a flight because of some police conference or something which ends in disaster because of a bomb planted inside the plane will be mention.

Oh jeez, the look on Nigel’s face in that outtake. And the sound he makes. Perfect!

Anyway Rich, you’re wrapping up Forever Janette quite nicely. Everything still fits, still feels right. But I can’t help but wonder just where Janette travelled off to. Or maybe even when?

Looking forward to more Doctor Who stories from you (especially that Space: 1999 crossover, the Alphans always desperately needed the Doctor’s help).

Vulpis: Nigel Bennett, the actor who played LaCroix, did a series of commercials during the time the show was on the air, for a cereal called Oatmeal Raisin Crisp. This became a joke among the cast as well as the fans, so much so that in one outtake on the second-season blooper reel, you see Nick holding up a box of the cereal in place of a cross he's supposed to be using against LaCroix in a battle sequence. Hilarity ensues. Nigel, for Oatmeal Raisin Crisp Edited to add: I found the blooper on YouTube! There are a handful of fandom in-jokes/references that Rich put into today's strip to make me giggle. I'm betting that one particular one will remain way too obscure for anyone's memory but mine.
