House of Paulus – Page XXI

“House of Paulus” is set in the world of FVLMINATA, a parallel history of Rome where the empire uses firearms to expand its boundaries.

Her father must be so proud.

  2. Sam

All I can picture is her turning into a giant crab with a name like that.

  3. herk

I bet her voice is annoyingly high and a bit nasal.

  4. Stressfactor

Calufrus = Calufrax, Macra = Macra Terror…. “Doctor Who” stuff sneaks in everywhere, doesn’t it? ; >

  5. Mousme

Heh. This is kind of like that “serial dating” spree Gren the Goblin went on in the early days of YAFGC, or am I wrong? :)

I like her, though. I’m a fan of chickens too!

  6. Monsters and Rockets

Hi, Rich. I gave The Ten Doctors a rave review on my site, MonstersandRockets.com. I tried to send you a link via private email, but I couldn’t find your address anywhere on the site. So, here’s the link: http://www.monstersandrockets.com/2009/06/rich-morris-is-professional-storyboard.html. (Don’t ask me to explain the weird phrasing in that URL… The site hardware did that all by itself!)

  7. Captain Chaotica

Heheh. I was thinking that too. _Macra_? Ack. Bad sign!

    …and stuff… :P

By the way, YAFGC is just a blank page for me at the moment. Is it supposed to be doing that because it’s under construction, or is something screwy?

    …Notorious

  8. Makkabee

Umm… no. Unless she’s pretending to be a moron to tease him, given the requirement for interesting conversation. Not likely, that though.

@ Sam: There are no Macra.

  9. Hilary

CC: YAFGC’s working just fine at this end. Maybe a cache issue with your browser?

  10. Sean

Hilary: I’ve been having trouble accessing it from this site as well.

  11. Captain Chaotica

Hmmm…I just went and cleared out my cache and…nope. Still blank.

There are a couple of older strips way back in the archive that just show up as blank pages for me, too, but I forget which ones.

    …Notorious

  12. Hilary

I just manually cleared the site cache twice and it’s working just fine, so I don’t know what to tell you.

  13. Sean

I managed to get there by googling it, but I still can’t get it from here.

  14. Dr. Bunsen

There’s a touch of ‘Up Pompeii’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_Pompeii!) about these proceedings….

  15. Hilary

Sean: I don’t understand what you mean by “accessing it from here” and “from this site” – I’ve checked the link to YAFGC in the sidebar, and it’s working fine, as is the forum link in the header. What specifically is giving you trouble?

  16. kittystitcher

If you lot squint and tilt your heads to the left, I think you’ll find you can wedge a Who reference just about anywhere.

About the comic…wow. I’m not sure if she’s nervous and just saying whatever comes into her head, or if that’s really all that’s in there! I wouldn’t pick her, Paulus!

  17. Rassilon

So she’s cross eyed, has buck teeth that would shame Bugs Bunny & there’s a distinct possibility of crabs.

If it was me I’d be calling……

    NEXT!!!!!!!!!

  18. Rassilon

PS “if you lot squint and tilt your heads to the left”

Actually just noticed that she’s doing that already.

  19. Radge

Ha, Macra. Love the reference xD

  20. Captain Chaotica

Okay, now both yesterday’s comic AND today’s are showing up. I have no idea…

    …Notorious

  21. carol

LOL. Macra? I got it. :) Why do I get the feeling she’s a blonde?

  22. The TARDIS Traveller

^Radge: Nice to see you’ve come down here from YouTube!

Rich, you just can’t let Who escape can ya? Which I think is brilliant by the way!

  23. The Creeping Spleen

Oh dear, not too bright is she?

Still, I’m sure her daddy loves her.

    Paulus: “No thank you. NEXT!”:)

  24. Pete

Not the brightest candle in the chandelier.
Not the sharpest bolt in the quiver.
Not the quickest rabbit in the hutch.

(If you don’t recognise the quote, it comes from Rich’s other comic
    http://yafgc.shipsinker.com/index.php?strip_id=542 )

  25. Maki P

If this is one of the Top 5, I don’t want to see the others

  26. EricInWisconsin

Well, well, well… Macra is, like, soooo cute, fer shure! I mean, like, tooootally, y’know?

What’s the Roman equivalent of a valley girl? :D

  27. Underline Chris

    Macra looks crabby.

  28. Rich

Um… I really just meant for Macra to be the feminized version of Macro. I didn’t even make a Doctor Who connection until the comments started coming in. I feel dumb now.

  29. Captain Chaotica

To be fair, I kinda thought of that too–that it looked _like_ Macra, but was probably just a language coincidence. But I wasn’t entirely sure. :P

    …Notorious

  30. Captain Chaotica

EEerrrrmmmm…that didn’t come out right. I mean that it was spelled the same as the Doctor Who creature, but not really _meant_ as a reference. “It looks like the way it’s actually spelled, but isn’t!” what’s wrong with me today…

This thing needs an edit button. :P

  31. Lord President Lundar

Why does she want to know about chickens. :-)

  32. Rich

Mousme: You’re right. Hilary pointed out later on that it’s similar to King Eric’s search for a Queen before he married Clover. *sigh* I get stuck in ruts sometimes.

  33. JustAWanderer

She’s probably smarter than she looks or sounds.
Consider that she obviously didn’t raise her hand on Page XVI.

  34. Romanadvoratrelundar

@ Radge: OMG IT’S LITTLERADGE FROM YOUTUBE!

Ok.. now that that’s out of my system..
    Another nice page, Rich XD

  35. Adam

Maybe she has buck teeth but with no debts to pay off or risk to Paulus’ life.
    Demetrios certainly can pick em.

  36. Eggnik

I like her, she seems nice.

  37. Bill M.

Well, until I see the others, she’s my favorite, especially since the only other I’ve seen is Manlia.

  38. Duchess

And MACRA is also the name of the Irish version of Young Farmers/4H…
