Download the Ten Doctors as separate pdfs, or a zip file of everything. If you intend to distribute this thing, by torrent or some other way, please use this version – it’s got some typos fixed, all the pages are included, all the extras are there and so on. Links are welcome, but please link to this post, not to the individual files – they’re provided through a script, and the path will not work from a direct external link.

The Zip file (huge!):

  • Ten Doctors: Complete: The entire package, and the mother of all zip files. Takes about 4 minutes to download on high speed cable. 182.41 MB

This graphic novel is provided free of charge. If you’ve enjoyed Rich’s work and are so inclined, however, donations to help us keep the site going are extremely welcome. (Yeah, this is a shameless beg. I need to keep Rich well-fed and stocked with new pencils to get him to keep cranking the material out!)

As always, thank you for your support, comments, and interest! We had no idea when we started posting these that Rich’s comic strips would garner all this attention, and it’s really been quite humbling. Y’all are awesome.

Thank you, Thank you very much for your hard work, your skills, and entertaining me for the last couple of years. :-)

  2. Bad Andy

    Donated. Well worth the money.

  3. TimeHorse

    Rich Rocks!

Credit where credit is due, everyone! Rich here is worth every name drop so let those kudos flow!

Say, though, didn’t someone colourize the first few pages on T10D? I noticed you went back to your original pen’n'ink in this collection. Was this because the colourist didn’t release permission to his or her work?

Anyway, great work, Rich, on this, and Pallus and the Halloween specials and all of it! (Still waiting for that cameo of the This Hour Has 22 Minutes set…)

  4. Hilary

TimeHorse: we chose not to include the coloured pages this time, because EclecticMuse is still working on them. If/when she finishes, we’ll be more than thrilled to work with her to make that available as well.

  5. tmpletz

Bravo! A job well done. Thank you for all your hard work and a great story. It’s been a fun ride!

The entire series zip file is definitely my next download! Just gotta hit that “Submit Comment” button first. ;-)

  6. Tarot

    That was great!

    Are the downloads in colour?

  7. Hilary

Tarot: No; they’re what you get on the site in a more convenient and better-laid-out form, plus some more black and white extras. We both have day jobs, which means time is of the essence. If you only want the extras, then grab the Appendix – that’s where the deleted scenes and such are that didn’t appear on the site.

  8. Matthew Rimmer

Thanks a lot for providing this in download form. I’m sorry I cannot make a donation but I am beyond skint at the moment.

  9. Darren

Hilary.. if you’re interested, I’ve been compiling these into a comic format (viewable in programs like Comical). Once I’ve finished compiling the new ones into it, I can send it your way if you’d like..

  10. Hilary

Darren: I haven’t the faintest idea what that is, but if you think others would find it useful (and it’s under 200 megs in size!), I can certainly add it to the download options.

  11. Darren

Here’s a sample as to what Comical does..
    http://comical.sourceforge.net/images/comical-0.6-win32.jpg

To sum it up, it’ll take Rich’s “10 Doctors” and turn it into a digital graphic novel.. flippable through pages, thumbnails on the left side.. and viewable on Windows/Linux/MacOS. :D

  12. Hilary

Oh, that’s cool! Are you including the commentary and extras, or just the base pages?

  13. Darren

I can do whatever I have access to.. and whatever you’d like to have me include. :)

I’ll check in and see if it allows text commenting, but I think it’s mostly just graphics based. So whatever I can get that’s an image, I can probably do.

But I’ll go by the MegaDownload PDF for formatting and layout if you’d like me to do the Comical port for you, or whatever order/formatting you’d like to have out there. :D

  14. Hilary

That works! The megapdf is the final version (it’s still got typos, but after a certain point we had to decide between fixing them all, or getting the pdf out late), so whatever’s there can be taken as gospel for how we want things formatted.

  15. Darren

Okay, I’ll see what I can come up with for you then.. :)

I’ll also have to go back into what I currently had going.. the one I was doing for myself had the first 6 or 7 pages replaced with the colourized versions and I’ll have to put them back to Rich’s versions..

  16. Merlin McCarley

Yeah, a CBR version of this would be smoother than the PDFs that is for certain.

  17. Mina

Just want to say the whole thing’s been awesome. I’m in awe of your dedication (and your art skills), and thanks for the zip

  18. muerps

Thanks! I made my own pdf (with LaTeX), but the “official” one looks better than mine – I love the small pictures.

  19. Hilary

Thanks, guys! And muerps: the border? Yeah; we had some fun with that one! :D

  20. Doctor-Who-Fan

    Gr8 work

i just wanted to know if u will be puting the fun extras in 2?

  21. Hilary

DWF: All of the extras that were published on the blog (April Fools, Christmas cards etc) are in the Appendix pdf, along with some new things only available in that download. Call it our thank you card to the fans for being awesome.

  22. Lucifer

I remote uploaded the full archive to (Mirror link removed by admin for now)

It is completely unaltered from the version on Rich’s server. Feel free to download it from here to save Rich’s bandwidth.
Rich, top work. I really enjoyed it. Can’t wait for more if you are doing another story. If you object to my rapidshare link, e-mail me and I’ll take it down.

  23. Hilary

Lucifer: I’ll remove your link, but I would be happy to use your site as a mirror if that’s ok with you – we’re tracking the number of downloads of each file for future use (so we know how many people wanted the full zip, or just the extras, etc), and it needs to go through our script to do that. But I can add your link here as a mirror within the script and it will keep tracking.

ETA: I checked the link, and it’s putting a 2-minute delay on the download, which is a pain in the arse. We have a really good deal on our bandwidth, so I’m not too worried about it at the moment – if I get hate mail from our host tomorrow, I may come back and add the mirror then. :)

  24. muerps

Yes, the border. (Oh, my cable is faster than yours. I think I downloaded the zip in 3 minutes. Where can I get the Medal For Incredibly Fast Downloading?)

  25. Doctor-Who-Fan

is the 8-9 Regeneration Page and Da 10 Docs in it ?? :D

  26. FresnoTimelord

I would like the Comical Version to!

  27. mmm122

The Flowchart explains SO MUCH now… Thanks!

  28. Lucifer

NP folks. Use it if you wish, the two min wait is annoying but I’ll leave it available just in case. I keep forgetting you need to wait since I use premium account there :)

  29. nightfly

Genius! And generous. Consider it grabbed.

  30. Kris Nelson

Been following this since they posted page 84 on Digital Spy. It’s been so nice following it – like a tiny wonderful present, sometimes unlooked for – sometimes impatiently wondering when the next installment would appear. Kind of like the serialized aspect of the original show. Rich/Hilary – if you can get EclecticMuse to finish the digital inking and colouring you should really consider approaching some companies like IDW to see if you could get it published – the talent in writing is sincere, and captures all aspects of the show’s history accurately and lovingly.
Thank you SO much for such very good work!!!

  31. scionofgrace

Thank you for the download! That’s so generous of you!

  32. David Harding

Just wanted to say a heartfelt “thanks” for all the great moments over the past couple of years. With 3 of the actors sadly no longer with us… and at least a couple more who are almost unrecognizable from their times as the Doctor, I feel this has been a wonderful treat for fans who wonder what an epic story featuring all the Doctors (to date) might look like. You threw everything in but the kitchen sink (and if I go back and re-read this epic, it wouldn’t surprise me to see that there too)… and the results have been spectacular! Thanks again!

  33. Beth Pierce

Thank you so much for this – it was a wonderful ride and I enjoyed every minute of it!

  34. Kathryn

    ***hearts***
Thank you for all the fun :D

  35. Toby Coulstock

Arg. I don’t wanna do this. I’d rather do it by email but I can’t find a link anywhere…

Well, firstly, Rich, it really was a fantastic comic, with all the convolution and sheer quantity of characters of the Five Doctors only with an actual, solid plot and lots of awesome where there was once stupid. And thank you, too, for providing collected PDF editions. More comics should do that.

    But…

The little figures around the outside of each page really need to go. Artwork and writing needs a border of white space so as not to distract the eye. Otherwise your attention keeps getting pulled out of the comic to the border. It’s especally bad when the pictures are small and detailed because minute detail is one of two things the eye has been programmed by millions of years of evolution to be drawn to (the other is movement). It is extremely distracting and a huge graphicc deisgn/typesetting no-no.

Sorry about that but it’s really bugging me as I try to read it through again.

  36. Hilary

Toby: I’m sorry you feel that way. We quite like the border and the way it fills the space, and we won’t be changing it. I believe Darren’s cbr version will be just the strips themselves, so you might want to look into grabbing a copy that way when he’s done.

  37. Toby Coulstock

Please consider it. I teach graphic design at a local college and I admit this probably bugs me more than most people but it’s going to be subconsciouly bugging pretty much everyone.

There’s a reason why we use white space. Even as I write this post, Wordpress has provided clear inch and a half of white on either side of the column of comments. I have an art book in front of me with an inch border on every page and even novels – crammed in that they are because they were developed back when paper was still expensive – have a centimetre or so buffer space around the outside.

In the meantime, I will be donating a little later. This won’t be costing you anything. :P

  38. Hilary

As always, we appreciate the donation immensely! That doesn’t change the fact that the pdfs are staying as-is – Ten Doctors is a finished beast, we’re moving on to other projects as well as our day jobs, and we like the end result. There was way too much white space originally, and the border makes us happy.

  39. Mass

Grabbed my copy of the Mega Download, and ill donate once i get paid tomorrow… quick question tho… why werent Da 10 Docs strips included in the Extras?

  40. Hilary

    O.o

Because I’m an idiot and forgot? I had them in at one point, I think I must have moved some things around and forgot to put them back in. [headdesk]

    Oops.

  41. Casey

This is wonderful. I’ll happily donate to have a copy of this.

  42. Darren

I have Da 10 Docs as well, and can include it in the Extras on the .CBR.. and the way that I have been building the .CBR is from the original strips (sans border).

I do have a way to build using the PDFs, and that’ll include the comments.. but that may also strip the border. One way or another, I’ll try to get something completed that most will be happy with. :)

(If need be, I can create a version based off the original strips which will be minus comments and most closely resemble a comic book, and one from the PDFs which will include the comments and the white space around the strip unless I can figure a way to convert with the border intact).

  43. Mass

any chance you can up the Da 10 Docs specials in a pdf too?

will Rich be doing anymore specials in that style?

  44. Mreen

Darren – that will be great to have Da 10 Docs in as well! Looking forward to your CBR version.

  45. Elle

    A very long comment follows, I hope I didn’t mostly ramble…

This is a great idea! If I had a heavy duty printer I might print it all, but I don’t even have one in color.
XD I love the commentary for your 2nd April fools prank in the appendix, “…out “DOCTOR!” in unison and break the Master’s hold on him
through the power of loyalty and love… but nobody would have believed that crock for a second.” That was the one thing I didn’t like about that episode too. Though there is a typo in the PDF, that prank was in 2009, not 2008. Unless it went forward in time, or I’m mistaken.
I have to agree a lttle bit about the border around the comic, it’s a bit too much going on. But I like the border and think it’s cute (Along with a way of getting rid of the wite space you where talking about), but that it could of been further out and not so tightly aligned. But all that matters is you like it. :) Well, I do like it too, but like I said, a bit to close.
I loved the introduction page, about how you became a Doctor Who fan and (trying) to draw the 4th doctor. I can identify with that. I had trouble drawing the doctors (mostly the 10th, because I tried him and the 4th. Not so much the rest). But, my trouble was the 10th doctor, not drawing the 4th. At least you could tell who it was supposed to be. XD Well, I’ve lucky improved the past year or two in art…. (at least I hope so.)

Anyway I loved the 10 doctors and can’t wait to see your other projects! :)
I love your style by the way, I love how it’s detailed yet still cartoony. It’s even improved throughout the comic.
This webcomic is the best thing that came out of my google search for K-9. (I was looking up references of the 4th doctor and K-9 for a school sketch book assignment) Luckily though, I still probably would of seen it at livejournal, your updates helped. I always forget to look at webcomic websites. (maybe I should use the RSS feed and check my E-mail more often. XD)

Hmmm, I just noticed that you have 10 chapters to the comic. Is this a coincidence? ;)

I’ll probably re-read the entire comic when summer starts. Hopefully that online comic book thing that Darren is doing is up, right now that sounds like the best option for reading online. PDF’s are fidgety for me.

Keep up the fantasic work Rich! (You too Hilary!)

  46. Elle

Wow, I rarely comment, but when I do I always overwrite! I didn’t realize how big it was! Sorry if it was too much of a read.

  47. LOGOSXII

Looking back at the whole body of work you put out for us to read and mostly enjoy—I have to tell ya it was great and fun to read. I am really looking forward to our Doctor’s new adventures. Thanks! I have to ask if they are going to be based on your ideas mirroring the new Doctor or are you going to use various incarnations?

  48. Phoenix

    Rich and Hilary

Just to say much thank yous for the last 2 years – it’s been a fantastic ride.

Nice big thank you winging it’s way to you to keep Rich in pencils via Paypal.

    Cheers
    xx

  49. Cleverest Name

LOVE the extras. Thanks! BTW, on the flowchart’s first box, the Doctors are at the Eye of ORION, not Harmony. But I love the downloads all the same! Thanks for an epic journey. Both of you.

  50. Cleverest Name

BTW, sorry again to nitpick, but the “Ombega” typo is still existant… ( I like it better that way!)

  51. kittystitcher

Sweet! Now I just have to get it all printed out and such…thanks so much! (I’ll donate when I have more money to my name, heh heh…)

    Thanks again!!!

  52. Eric S

I don’t know if this was just an error in downloading or just an error that I alone got, or if it’s been mentioned, but Chapter 8, page 9 is garbled from the last half downwards. I had originally downloaded the full zip and I just ran across that while re-reading it. I redownloaded chapter 8 as a single and it came out fine, so again… maybe it was just a onetime glitch, but I thought you might want to know?

  53. DrDespicable

Hi – perhaps I came in late or at a bad time, but that zip file seems to be absent – “Page Not Found” absent. And absence is not making my heart grow fonder. I was reading it regularly as posted, but my mum passed in January, and I simply haven’t been able to keep up. Is the PDF zip still or going to be available? I’m itching to know what happens and how it ends. Rick, you did a splendid job – and now I’m all curious about the margins as well! I’d be happy to make a donation, if American money is still worth anything…

    Cheers,
    Doc

  54. Hilary

Definitely not deliberately removed – it looks like I had a plugin failure at some point on Thursday, judging by when the download stats crashed.

Edited to add: OK! It looks like a recent core update flushed the ability of wordpress to reconcile the pretty urls Download Manager was using. I’ve updated the configuration of the plugin, and now all the links should be functional again. Thanks for the heads-up!

  55. Darren

Comical versions (CBRs) are now in Hilary’s hands.. :)

  56. Kimberly

Thank you for the downloads Rich! Now I can read this comic anytime! Bravo! Thank you for the ultimate Doctor Who ride!
