It’s the 3rd Doctor’s turn to round up his passengers, and he’s got quite a boatload. His official current companion, Jo, the Brigadier, Benton, Yates and Liz who came to visit from Jo’s future, Sarah Jane Smith and her K9, and Capt’n Jack who’s hitching a ride back to London to get back to his TW team.

Awww, this was nice. Loving it!!
lol. Jack.
Love 9’s face.
Rose looked excited about having Jack with them.
Rich, I love how you drew Three in panel one! Very nice!
Age before beauty
(falls over chuckling) HAHAHA. Oh, man. “Can you imagine me as a stranger, Miss Brown?” Oh DEAR.
Heeheehee…
And this whole page is just _adorable_. Sarah Jane finally–subtly–tells off Four for _not_ taking her anywhere near Croydon, Three is well-drawn, it’s so nice to see the UNIT crew back again, even briefly, I love everyone’s expressions (especially The Stranger and Miss Brown’s–oops, I mean Six and Peri’s)…it’s all just great.
…Notorious
Ooo! Afternoon treat. Thank you, Rich! I’m working on my home network, linking two wireless routers, and I just had to test the connection to make sure that I could get on the net. Naturally, this is the place I chose to test the connection, and I struck gold! New page! Woo-Hoo!!
Great page, too. You draw all of the Doctors well Rich, but you really seem to have pegged 3 & 4. Wonderful job!
“Age before beauty.” *snort* Shame, Brig. Shame.
Sorry, utterly lost – who are those two guys in the middle of panel 2?
Oh, and panel 6 is just perfect. The look on 9’s face: priceless.
And the last panel of the last page was so sad. You’re great at getting all the different sentiments in, Rich. It feels just as nicely wacko and true-to-life as Doctor Who does at its best. Well, true-to-life plus robot dogs.
Cap’n Chaotica: Glad someone got that reference! Hah! Wasn’t too subtle after all.
Eilonwyn: Oh, uh, those guys in panel two are supposed to be Benton and Yates. But I didn’t have my photos with me for reference.
“I can’t imagine you much more strange”
*snigger*
Hit the nail on the nose, miss Brown. Oh wait… That sounds like Seven….
The only thing that could’ve made the reference a little more oblique would’ve been to tell 6 not to look so Solomon..
(bad pun intended of course). And Miss Brown is a nice nod as well.
And the banter between 3 and the Brig is right on as always..
Didn’t you say that each of the Doctors would get a chance to shine? I’ve counted:
Two
Four
Seven
Nine
and possibly
One
Five
Six
but not 2.5, Three, Eight, or Ten.
Sorry to be nitpicky–just wondering. Or is this not quite over yet?
Well, depends on your definition of ’shine’.
The 1st Doctor got to boss all the others around and lead the assault on the Dalek conditioning.
The 2nd Doctor defeated the Celestial Toymaker.
The 2.5th Doctor defeated Omega.
The 3rd Doctor directed the battle agains the Sontarans.
The 4th Doctor got to hang off a ship, rescue the 6th Doctor and regenerated Leela and her kids.
The 5th Doctor got to fly in a fighter ship and conduct a daring rescue of the 4th Doctor as well as getting to be everyone’s favorite alter ego.
The 6th Doctor defeated the black Daleks.
The 7th Doctor defeated Davros and the white Daleks.
The 8th Doctor was the center of the story and worked a lot of it out on his own.
The 9th Doctor rescued EVERYONE and defeated the Guardians.
The 10th Doctor got to be a Dalek/Doctor and later passed up an opportunity to change the universe to suit him better.
I will concur that as far as action goes, the 8th and 10th Doctors got a little ripped off. But they were the two most important Doctors in the story. The one the bad guys tried to screw with and the ‘current’ and latest one who has to carry the legacy of the story.
And no…. it’s not quite over yet. You’ll know when it is.
Nine looks quite disturbed at the thought of meeting Jack.
Four also got all the best improvised lines. He always does.
Well, if you want to get technical, the eighth Doctor did manage to briefly remind the tenth Doctor that he was the Daleks enemy before Dalek Tor came into being, and Ten was able to manipulate the Time Dalek sent to attack Six into arriving too late, and so they both saved the sixth Doctor from being exterminated.
…I think…
*snort* I keep meaning to hunt down the Stranger movies (and there were audios, too, right?), so the only reason I really caught that reference is a brief period of time where I was obsessed with Doctor Who EU stuff… but conclude it is a rather amusing reference nonetheless.
I rather like Six and Peri. They end up with a fairly decent relationship by the time Trial of a Time Lord comes around, and maybe more what I wish 9 and 10’s relationship with Rose had been…
Nine’s expression is priceless.
And I rather love the idea of Three performing inter-temporal taxi services.
YES…to that, Madison. I rather like Six and Peri’s relationship. Once they settle down a bit (and are being written halfway properly–I mean, “Timelash” was just bad for EVERYone), it’s like…they’re snarky enough to be fun, but warm enough not to be actually mean-spirited. They insult each other and then two seconds later, the Doctor realises she’s really upset, and puts his arm around her shoulder and tries to cheer her up. D’awww.
And then back to snark. Well, that’s why they’re _fun_…
But no. Frigging. ROMANCE. Except for with my stupid Sims, oy…
)
(The other day, I took my eyes off of Six and Peri the Sims for like _two seconds_ and suddenly heard the “blingblingbling!” harp notes that mean “Somebody just fell in LUV!” Apparently they flirted and also kissed while I wasn’t looking. Stupid Sims. Stupid springtime.
Although _most_ of the time when I leave them alone, they go…
(stand there for a second)
“KITTY!!” and instantly glomp one of their cats. Seriously, they’re obsessed with the cats. Hee.
And yeah, Rich…well it was BECAUSE of you that I got the joke about the Stranger. I’d never’ve heard of that series-ette if it wasn’t for reading a comment from you on a way back far ago page of this comic. I haven’t heard the audio thingies yet, but I have all the visual episodes…
…Notorious
Yay, not over yet!
Love 9’s expression.
I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Something’s about to happen… I just know it.
Awesome! New page!
I love that you’re managing to give all the Doctors a good-bye page. Please keep doing that! It’s a sweet way to end the comic, and it drags the whole thing out just a bit longer
Notorious – That Sims thing is absolutely hysterical, both the 6 and Peri falling in love bit and the bit where they’re obsessed with their cats (10 would not approve of the cats
) )
Is it at all sad that the first thing I noticed were the circular guidelines left behind on Peri’s breasts? Also, I can just SEE the waggle in Jack’s eyebrow when he says that to nine.
Woot! I see by your list, Rich, that none of the Doctors missed out being a hero!
I’ve got a feeling of an anti-climax here…or, well, there seems to be something more that’s going to happen. I can’t believe it’s the end.
Haha
The look on 9’s face hilarious!
wonderful bitter-sweet stuff again over the last few pages,Rich, each Doctor & companions character & relationships captured with a look and a word,’at the risk of repeating myself:’brilliant’!
Hah I loved the reference to the stranger.
So if I am to understand the comings and goings… the people who have already left would be 1, susan, 2, 2.5, jamie, zoe, drax, the rani, mel, glitz, 7 ace, 3, the brig, benton, liz, yates, sarah-jane, captain jack and a k9?
Meaning those who are left are 4, romana, another k9, 5, turlough, tegan, 6, peri, 8, 9, rose and 10.
So what about leela and her k9, have they already been dropped off? And nyssa and dr grace haven’t appeared in a while, but 8 said he’d drop them off and he’s still here so can I assume they are too?
Plus we still have one meddling monk and one dalek who are missing, presumed causing trouble.
With Jack on this page I wonder from when in the series is Jack from? The only gap I know of is between when he left the doctor during the day (in Last of the Timelords) and his return to the TW team at night (in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang)
Not the first to read it but loved it and I got The Stranger reference too.
The characters that are gone are:
The 1st Doctor & Susan
The 2nd Doctor, the 2.5th Doctor, Jamie and Zoe
The 3rd Doctor, Jo, Sarah Jane, K9, Brig, Benton, Yates, Liz, Cap’n Jack
The 7th Doctor, Ace
Drax, Glitz, The Rani, Mel
The characters still around are:
The 4th Doctor, Romana, K9
The 5th Doctor, Tegan, Turlough Kameleon
The 6th Doctor, Peri
The 8th Doctor, Grace, Nyssa
The 9th Doctor, Rose
&
The 10th Doctor.
I noticed something different this strip: Rich, did you use a felt-tip pen this time?
As for the strip itself, I am giddy with all the references, which is far from a bad thing. I also forgot that 9 and Rose hadn’t met Jack until that point, you caught me there.
Anyway, great comic as always Rich; keep up the good work!
Age before beauty XD love it
Please tell me you’re going to do an ‘Eleven Doctors’ comic soon..?
And Nine’s face at having to meet Capt’n Jack all over again…
I laughed a lot at this page
Heheheh. And that isn’t even the _half_ of it, Kittystitcher. (Kitty…stitcher OUCH.
) Basically the game is complicated enough to where, even when it’s not actually glitching, it’s still…eccentric. So many odd little quirky things that can happen, and little side personality traits or habits they have that you didn’t expect (or want, sometimes.) Well, if you have Free Will turned on. I suppose it’s a sign of how the Doctor and I agree that I never ever ever even CONSIDER turning that option off. Most of the time I forget the option even exists.
There’s all kinds of odd little romances going on with everybody, including my Doctor Who Sims, that I didn’t expect or want..but am often amused by. Including the fact that the game decided to throw Sim-Four and Sim-ME at each other with great force. And that’s just one example. At the moment I’m just waiting for both Six and Peri to stop wanting to get _enaged_ to each other. Neither of you is Family aspiration, STOP it!
And of course he has cats. Of course. He’s the Kitty Doctor! Their names are Rassilon and Omega, ‘cos I’m just that much of a geek.
I have a screenshot of Peri picking up one of them and hugging it with the cat’s paw _right against her face_…GAH! Suicidal much?
…Notorious
I love the 6th panel! You’re really wonderful Rich. Jeez, I sound like abroken record huh? Well, its all ego stroking for Rich.
Yay! I’m enjoying this! Also, reading this has lead me to watch some classic series, which has in turn lead me to rereading, which means…I get more of the references this time around! Wow, I sounded like an excited fangirl then, didn’t I?
Hah! When I saw Panel 5, and the “Stranger” reference.. I was like “Really? Rich referenced THAT!?” Then when he said Miss Brown.. oh Rich, you’ve made a young fan (With the soul of an old fan) very happy.
Seriously, Rich. This is the greatest Doctor Who comic ever. And that ain’t no hyperbole. I mean it. Out of all the Doctor Who strips ever created, this is the greatest.
Lovely little send-off there. I’m guessing that the end will come on page 250, just because it’s a nice round number.
That was vain of the Brigadier: age before beauty.
I love that, based on the linework, one of, if not the, definitive aspect of Peri’s character design is her hooters. Hee hee. The Brig has a billion lines laying out his face, but Peri? No, it’s all about Miss Brown’s Girls.
Why is Jack going back to London? Torchwood is in Cardiff?
i know he was facing the Cybermen with UNIT in London, but the rest of the Torchwood team werent there??
Didn’t catch the stranger reference. *Shame on me*
Loved the page though. Three’s got a full TARDIS! At least two of my three favorite Doctors are still there (that is, 4 and 6)…
Part of me looks forward to the next page. The other part hopes to stave off the end as long as possible!
Mass: Jack may have been working from Torchwood One in Canary Wharf, London, before it got destroyed and this could be from before he took charge of the Cardiff branch, Torchwood Three (or he could just visiting Ianto Jones who was a Junior Researcher at London at the time
). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torchwood_Institute for details on all four Torchwoods.
Hehe I caught The Stranger reference. ^^
I’ll be sad when this comic is over.
I liked the reference to The Stranger, and I’ve only read about it.
Loved the faces of Peri and Nine (subtle snark and surprise, respectively).
Looking for Five to say goodbye to Nyssa all over again (one of my favorite moments in the classic series was the ending of “Terminus” – a real heartbreaker).
Something familiar about the Brig and 3’s conversation….;)
Yay! I’m not a noob anymore (not completely anyway)! I catched “The Stranger” reference! Good for me!
And I love Sarah Jane and her “Two Doctors”
Aww!! Getting closer to the end, I’m really sad about that
Still, it’s been a brilliant comic and I hope that there might be more… Possibly a spin off? I can imagine there being some sort of spanner thrown in somewhere… I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Brill! By dint of not checking in for a few days I got to enjoy the last several pages at one go, a treat. Really enjoyed Ace and Rose making their farewells on the previous page. Completely cracked up at: “No mackin’ on the Professor! That’s just wrong.” How true that is! Ace is a big favorite companion of mine. And, for Peri, on this page, I have a warm place in my… heart, yes, heart! Ten has committed himself now to a desperate course! Can’t imagine what’s next!
No snog from Jack to Nine? Bummer. Beautiful scene though.
I loved the Stranger gag, very funny!
Rich: thnx for saying who left and who remains
”We’ll know when it’s over”
?! Hopw much more can there be? The only thing I see is… Dalek Ahn!
What’s “The Stranger”? Something with some of the Who actors?
I’m hoping for a nice Five/Nyssa/Tegan goodbye page too
XD Age before beauty. XD
I love the way you drew panel 3!
I love the page.
Hah! “Quite a boatload,” no kidding! I especially love SJS’s panel with 4 and 10. Her Doctors.
You gotta wonder what happens when they all get back to Earth, though. And not just in this story, but in others like The Five Doctors. Do they gradually forget, or…?
Ah, probably. Or SJS would have remembered “The Five Doctors.” Or maybe the true reason is far more sinister, something that the DW crew is cooking up for us right now.
This has become a rambleing comment comprised mainly of Random. So I will end it with a final “Kudos” to you, Rich. So excited for the end, but not wanting it to happen. The mark of a good story, at least for me.
~CoZ
yay!
Cleverest Name:
After having [been booted off] the Doctor Who series, Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant were paired up in a series of fanfilms (i believe, correct my details if I’m wrong) as the same characters, but altered just enough in the hopes to avoid lawsuits. Colin was “The Stranger” and Nicola was “Miss Brown”[and dropped the idiotic pseudoAmerican accent]. Later episodes of “The Stranger” series featured Sophy Aldred (Ace) and other actors from the show (but not as their characters from Who).
OMG Panel 6, just about died laughing. =D
BTW for anyone interested, dunno if they’re still posted, but I did find most of the “Stranger” episodes on Youtube a while back.
Actually, a friend of mind introduced me to the series by editing in a sequence from “The Twin Dilemma” where the newly regenerated (and somewhat nuts) 6th Doctor announces to Peri that he will go into self exile on some empy planet to spend a million years in isolation and she will be his servant.
The opening of the first “Stranger” episode has the Stranger sulking on a desert planet (or at least, a desert part of the planet) and Miss Brown complaining that she’s had enough of his self imposed exile and stomps off to find some people.
It’s like as if the time lines diverged where the 6th Doctor in “Who” got involved in the Twin Dilemma story. If he hadn’t, he’d have gone off and become “The Stranger”. with a darker outfit (didn’t think much of the toque, mind you, but his clothes are far more somber than the 6th Doctor). It’s almost like “what if Colin and Nicola got to play the characters the way they’d have liked to?”
What’s that first one called? Is it on YouTube?
Sounds great! Who-spoofs by Who-actors! That’s strange (and cool). (pun intended)
Not really spoofs. And later on they created some backstory and an identity for The Stranger that proved that it wasn’t the Doctor all along. The first one is called “Summoned by Shadows”
I got several of the Stranger series–until they took a weird turn and decided he was actually some bad guy who was being brainwashed to be a good guy, or something…it was really hard to figure out what was going on, and the sound quality on the last video I got was so bad the background noise drowned out the dialog. Quality control, Mr. Baggs!
I got mine through the Colin Baker Appreciation Society back in the ’90’s, when they first released!
But the first three were great fun! They are:
–Summoned by Shadows
–More than a Messiah
–In Memory Alone
Get ‘em if you can find ‘em!
(And let us not forget “The Airzone Solution”….)
Yeah, it’s awesome! And no, not spoofs. It’s got quite a dark tone, really–and sort of that trippy, experimental art-house film feel to it, a lot of the time. At least, the first one does. Michael Wisher–the original Davros (!) plays the main villain in the first episode. And then Nick Briggs, who is of course the _modern_ Daleks, plays a really freaky-ass character in the third. As my friend said when I showed her screenshots of both: “AAAA THE DALEKS ARE TAKING OVER.”
Nicola Bryant is much, _much_ better here. “Miss Brown” speaks with a deeper, more normal sounding voice, wears actual covering clothing (and really long hair…) and acts a lot more mature…but still with Peri’s _snark_. But better at it, ‘cos she’s older. Heh. She also has toughened up a bit, in a subtle kind of way, and while not an in-your-face WARRIOR! type, she still doesn’t put up with crap, and there’s a bit in the third episode especially where I was just cheering her on.
(Of course, bear in mind, I never _hated_ Peri as she was, or Six, or their relationship, so your own mileage may vary.)
And Rich is right–the first episode really _is_ like the timeline skewed and the Doctor actually did what he threatened to do, in “The Twin Dilemma”–and apparently it did him some good after all, ‘cos even though he was still cranky as all get-out, he had DEFINITELY calmed down. Though they never say what he is at first or show his spaceship, there is a line in the first episode where he says he no longer wants to get involved with “human affairs!”…as in, he’s NOT.
And then, of course, he DOES get involved. Even at his crankiest and most “I don’t care about anybody else!” Because, in his core, he’s still the Doctor. And that’s what the Doctor does.
(Interestingly, since we’re not told anything about the background of _either_ of them, “Miss Brown” could just as easily be not human in this as well…IF you don’t know the implied Whovian background. It’s kinda like “Sapphire and Steel”, in a way…)
The second episode is just absolutely DRENCHED in fannish _love_ for the series…but I still like it. For one thing, when Sophie Aldred’s character (Strange Nature Girl) falls in _love_ with the Stranger, his reaction is just so PERFECT. He _turns her down_ in a wise, wonderfully quotable, eccentric kind of way, in which he explains the way in which the Doctor really does _love_ his Companions..but not in THAT way. It was philosophical and alien and so sweet. Awww.
However, since she’s…not quite _normal_, this doesn’t really work and Bad Things still ensue. This whole BIT is basically an In Your FACE! to the fangirls, and explaining exactly _why_ it would never work. Haha…!
But no, really, I liked it ‘cos the character and lines were just _so_ well-written, and on the money.
Still, both Sophie _and_ Nicola get to do the VENGEFUL WITCH CALLING DOWN THE LIGHTNING! thing (which he’s NOT impressed with…_ha_!) and just _eat_ the scenery, so it’s all good. (laugh)
I also like the Stranger’s outfit in this one–he’s lost that stupid hat (you’re right, Rich, I don’t like it either) and has a long, dark overcoat over a _kinda_ colourful, patterned sweater with flowy, bright-ish red pants. (I took screenshots, again, to show my friend–that’s how I know this level of detail. Heh.)
The overall effect is vaguely DoctorISH…but not really an outright parody or copy of any canon outfit. Layers, big coat, and just a _touch_ of eccentricity–but you could still walk down a city block in it without being stared at. Very much the more toned-down kind of look Colin wanted…but not _completely_ declawed.
The third episode is…well it’s like a _Twilight Zone_ episode or something. A freaky, very artsy, standalone story, in which Per–_Miss Brown_ kicks butt without bothering to take names, and The Stranger just about whips out a sonic screwdriver to try and repair a futuristic train while it’s still running. It’s Miss Brown’s last appearance, and she goes out well.
The other three I have yet to see, although I understand we find out that he’s much MORE alien than a Time Lord, _not_ at all originally meant to be a good guy, has a rather dark past, dark, creepy things happen and the main nasty thug guy from the Stranger’s own actual home planet, who shows up to threaten him and whatnot, is played by David Troughton! Woot. I understand Caroline John (Liz!) also shows up in the last episode. I haven’t seen them yet.
I could also go on about the other BBV things, including my personal favourite moment–the utterly NOT explained at all bit of “Cosmic ANGST!” in “The Airzone Solution” (which has more Doctors than one could shake the proverbial stick at!) but I’ll shut up now.
…Notorious
Hmmm.. Sounds like a parallel universe to Doctor Who that actually went as planned!
“Cosmic Angst” is not the scene I think of for Airzone Solution.
I laughed when I read “The Stranger” reference.
Brilliant as always.
For those wondering about when in the timeline Jack is from, I’m pretty sure it’s from before any of the new series stuff. Not from his perspective of corse, but I don’t think that the Doctor and Rose have actually met yet as far as the world around him is concerned. His timeline at this point is pre-Torchwood TV show. Sarah Jane as well. I believe this version of her is pre school reunion. I may be wrong though. Perhaps Rich could clear it up?
gorramKayna: Jack, Sarah Jane, and the UNIT people would be from the point in Earth’s timeline when this story starts, which is just before the episode Smith and Jones.
gorramKayna: I would agree with the most part but surely Sarah Jane must be post Journey’s End as in The Stolen Earth (I think) she points out she has never met Jack
I could never get into The Stranger series. Although Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant were good as their parts, the secondary characters were often apalling (you know, Must-Be-The-Son-Of-The-Director types). I did enjoy the Auton trilogy they produced in the late 90’s, though.
Elliee Vaness + John Carruthers: Rich himself explains things on page 193 of this blog:
>This is tricky since I kind of fudged the continuity of Sarah Jane and Jack in this comic. He’s SUPPOSED to be from somewhere after Rose makes him immortal in “Bad Wolf” and after he finds the 10th Doctor’s hand from “The Christmas Invasion”. Sarah Jane is from some time after “School Reunion”. However, in both cases that puts Earth in the 10th Doctor’s [current at the time of writing] time line, while the rest of the story takes place in the 8th Doctor’s time line. So it doesn’t really jive very well under close scrutiny.<
gorramKayna: Actually there’s some fudging and cheating as far as the Earth characters’ timeline is concerned in relation to the rest of this story.
The action takes place in the 8th Doctor’s “current” timeline (ref. Gallifrey). Sarah Jane is from a point after “School Reunion” (hence her up-to-date K9 and recognizing the 10th Doctor) but before her own series (K9 is still with her)
Jack is from a point after 1st season “Doctor Who” (he’s immortal and has started up Torchwood) and sometime during in or around the 1st season of Torchwood. I’m hampered here because I have only seen the 1st episode of Torchwood and didn’t want to reference it too much, so there may be some problems with his continuity. Sarah Jane and Jack are “current” to when I was writing their first scenes in the comic. Which was a while ago and may now conflict with continuity of the three series. Similarly, when I started the Earth scenes, the Brig had not yet been referred to in the new series.
So i was right, Jack should be going back to Cardiff!! lol
Another true work of art.
Well, yes, there is THAT scene from “The Airzone Solution”. You don’t have to remind me of _that_ scene. (And I think my Sims have somehow heard about it…) I was thinking more of scenes I LIKED from it.
The bit where, when (spoiler? alert) Peter Davison’s character dies…and even though these guys are _not the Doctor_, both Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy’s characters REACT to it (!)…THAT, was great. Made no friggin’ sense, but a lot of fun.
…Notorious
What I really like about THAT scenr in AS is, at a con pane someone asked Colin if, when doing that scene, he & Nicola had thoughts of fan reaction to it run through their minds. His reply was something like, “No, it didn’t run through our minds…it LEAPT and BOUNDED and RICOCHETED wildly through our minds….”
It occurs to me today that the Doctors & their companions could be doing that little song from “Sound of Music” as each group bows out & departs….:D
Nine looks so…I dont know. Lol at Rose…
Also, love the way you drew three.
Thanks for the clarification Rich.
See, I figured Sarah Jane had to be from before SJA at least, because K-9 was there and her little helpers were not. I guess I went a little early (forgot about seeing Martha about, must read it again). And Jack can be from slightly before the Torchwood show as you’ve written things. See, he’s been running Torchwood 3 since about 2000, building a team and generally having as little as possible to do with Torchwood 1. I was just trying to make sense of why he was in the London area and without his team, as he usually doesn’t go anywhere without them during the show. So I placed him sometime before that show. And since this is slightly before Doctor Who season 3, which ran parallel to Torchwood season 1, that works out about right for me.
Oh yeah! I just remembered, aren’t they all going to forget most of this or some such? Maybe that could explain why Jack and Srah Jane don’t know each other in season 4. Grasping at straws I know.
Sorry for the double post.
gorramKayna: Forgetting each other probably works actually – it usually is the only way you can explain multiple doctor stories
Dammit, I *always* want this to be here for me to look forward to each day. Rich, I don’t care if you need a break, you do this too well.
Do you have any other Who cartoon plans after this?
gorramKayna/John Carruthers: Yeah, that works…. if it works for everyone else. As for forgetting eachother, I had established in the comic that SJ and Cap’n Jack knew eachother by reputation if no having actually met before. But I started all this LOOOONG before “Journey’s End”. So I had no idea they were going to make them total strangers.
Anne Hedonia: Lemme put it this way… I’ve got a couple of pages covered in just working titles of Doctor Who comics I want to draw. So, yeah, I plan to keep going after “The 10 Doctors” is over.
Well, in Journey’s End, Jack did say he’d been following her work and complimented her handling of the Slitheen (no doubt pleased she’d survived an episode with that dreadful creature). She also said she’d been “avoiding” (?) Torchwood because of the guns.
Rich, with what do you draw? I just can’t figure it out!
Sorry im late *blushes* but great page XD let me guess timey wimey?
Rich: “So, yeah, I plan to keep going after “The 10 Doctors” is over.”
REALLY?
Fantastic, I love you!
More Doctor Who comics? Brilliant!!! Thank you very much in advance!
Yay! I’m so happy to know I can get my fix after The 10 Doctors ends. You are awesome!
lore: I just use a B pencil. Blue staedlers are my tool of choice. I have used standard HB’s (or #2) but when I have the option… I avoid 2B and softer ’cause they’re smudgey and I’m left-handed. Makes me angry. It doesn’t look like a pencil up there because when I scan it in I fiddle with the “levels” in Photoshop. Making the darks darker and the whites whiter.
Shouldn’t 4 be having a word with 9 soon as well?
I mean, 4 couldn’t allow the Daleks to die at their birth and 8/9 watched them burn.
So many pages in one day to read! This is marvelous!! I kinda wish the Tenth had given Eight that thing, whatever it was, to win the Time War, but I can see why he didn’t.
It would’ve made a really sweet ending, though. Sort of a deus ex machina situation, but sweet nonetheless.
Well done Rich, as always! Can’t wait for the rest!
To dear Hilary and Rich Im sorry if I affined you with my comment on page 236 I wasn’t going to post the names of the planes on the blog I only wanted them for the story I was writing. I would never let anyone else read my story I just wanted to get my facts right for me. Because I didn’t want to make up a planet that all reedy existed. I didn’t know were else to look for planet names I don’t know how to email or the anther thing Hilary mentioned I only just know how to post things on Rich Blog. This comic is great and I really in enjoy it so please forgive me.
P.S. Im sorry it took me so long to right back but it is hard to get on the internet some times. So keep up the great work Rich and Hilary.
From Leeanne
Rich: “So, yeah, I plan to keep going after “The 10 Doctors” is over.”
Yay!! *doing little dance* Great! Something to look forward to!
[2 and 7 pleeease???]
Leeanne: Not offended, just need to try to keep the comments lists under control.
Haha, great reference to 6th as the stranger.
Thank you >.< XD

Wonderfully drawn page Rich!
Thanks for the ‘Stranger’ reference, becuase now I can watch them on YouTube! (I didn’t know they existed before this, so thank you).
Keep up the excellent work!
Rich, I couldn’t resist. I had to play with this:

Hope you like it!
Whoah. I _love_ the effects on the end, that’s just gorgeous.
However…as she’s one of my favourite Companions, I just have to say…one _teeny_ nitpick: Liz is a redhead. Yep. Polite and ginger.
(To be fair, she does look _kinda_ blondISH in some shots, but not all the way yellow.)
That’s also an interesting colour choice on Peri’s shirt…I would’ve thought flaming pink myself, but that also works. Huh. Of course, nowadays, in my Sims game, she keeps leaving for work everyday in a STARFLEET UNIFORM, so who am I to talk about accurate fashions…. (cracks up)
…Notorious
I was actually going for a far redder gold but my program chose that moment to argue with me. I’m probably going to go back and try to change it now that I’ve had some sleep.
(And thanks on the effects. I love playing with effects.)

The third Doctor has always been my favorite and you did not disaapoint me Rich. You did a great job on Benton(He’s a little thinner but very fit due to his running every day)by the way.Love the stranger refrence(and yes I have seen the Airzone Soloution.why couldn’t it have been Nicola in the Shower instead of Colin?)
