The companions gravitate towards their various Doctors (and we need not go into lengthy discussion as to why some chose which), and ask what happened in there. Not surprisingly, they all tell their own version of the story, which sounds remarkably similar to each other Doctor’s version in some ways.

I’m just glad he wasn’t left out with all the other Doctor’s and their particular companions. Great page! But something just occurred to me… When 9 became 10, Rose was shocked and appalled, she clearly hadn’t experienced anything like this. So, since the Rose we see here seems to come from the era when she was travelling with 9, doesn’t that mean she wouldn’t be shocked later, when she sees the regeneration of 9 into 10? (Pardon me if this has all been dealt with in comments before… There are like 10,000 comments on this strip, I can’t read ‘em all!)

What about the conditioned High Council, though? Their Dalek casings were destroyed, but what about their mental state?
Makkabee- In a previous page they said that they had regenerated, but were somewhat confused and not ready to retake their office.
Personally, I can only think of two loose ends: Dalek Ahn and what will Maxil’s punishment be for aiding the Valeyard and killing Damon.
Tom: I hope they don’t punish Maxil! It seems to me that he was somehow being controlled and didn’t know what he was getting into. He says something to that effect on the page with him and Jack discovering the Council-Daleks.
Love this page! I especially adore the pairings of Doctors who say the same things: 6&1, 3&5, and 9&4 especially. Also 2’s expression. and the last panel is pure, unadulterated win.
Almost forgot… Why would Captain Jack gravitate toward Ten, when this is long before the events of “Utopia”? At this point, you think he’d be drawn toward Nine (then again, Nine hasn’t met Jack at this point).

I really like this way of “explaining” what happened. Very appropriate. As well as typical Doctor. And yes, I suspected more is to come. Not quite the end yet. Maybe you have a couple of surprises in store for us as we wind towards the conclusion? Forward Ho then. And I hope the move is going well. I’m still doing mine until the end of this month.
I love it. Forget what I said for page 206. Not knowing exactly what they did makes it worth reading this page. Each incarnation claiming, but for ten, how each of them did it and how they could have done better on their own. To be technical they did do it on their own as each of them are the same person just a regenerated version of the previous incarnation. They just mind-linked to strengthen their mental battle against the Dalek conditioning. Awesome!

Jack might be from before Utopia, but 9 doesn’t know him and to be fair 10 doesn’t have any companions on his own at this point and it’d be very lonely.

Wow, love the ego showboating. Like the fact that Sarah Jane & Jack went to 10. Sarah having met 10 last, and Jack, being from Torchwood so that he knows all the faces of the Doctor, including the 3 future ones not featured in the comic. Hate the fact that the comic seems to be ending.
And, Ursula, as I said on a previous page, anytime a Time Lord meets himself, he can remember any time he’s met his previous self, however, any other time, they don’t seem to, so I assume that they actually can’t. Whether it be some specific thing tied to the Imprimatur of Rassilon, a psychic block to avoid multiple paradoxes, or something altogether different is speculation. Companions linked to the Doctor on the times we’ve seen these meetings (during The 3 Doctors, The 5 Doctors, and The 2 Doctors) have shown a similar “amnesia” of crossover events.

Interesting how all the Doctors, with their different personalities, are wording their explanations in the exact same way.
I love how each of them considers himself the ONE vital Doctor, without whom the whole thing would have come crashing down. And I love how Ace’s expression says, “Yeah, right, Professor, pull the other one!”

That is a good point, with the whole “time line blasted into so many smithereens it’s like a reality bomb hit it” problem. Ten pointed this out on page, what, ten at the latest? …but still no resolution. Oh well, I’m sure it’ll fix soon. Then again, they never really did explain the whole deal with the end of “Five Doctors,” did they? (At least, not within the actual episode, unless I missed something.)
A couple of things… Shouldn’t the Doctors be freaking out about Jack’s “Fact-ness”? I guess they haven’t really had a proper look at him yet. A whole lot of amnesia is going to have to happen at the end of this for everyone to make the story fit between Runaway Bride and Smith & Jones. I suspect that in 3 Doctors the Timelords made the earlier 2 Doctors forget what just happened and in 5 Doctors Rassilon probably did the same for the first 3.

I’ve never heard this expression before. Googling, it seems to be some sort of American sports metaphor, right? (I’m British, BTW)
It doesn’t seem to be the sort of thing The Doctor would say.
The ironic thing about pairing 6 and 1 is that Colin Baker wanted to try to go back to being more like William Hartnell’s Doctor, if I remember my interview trivia.
Pete – Not sure about sports metaphors, but it’s a relatively common saying over here (America, lol). I think it relates back to spy movies – down to a choice between two wires *no idea if this is true, strictly my opinion*
I think it pretty much means a tough, close race, fight, or struggle that could go either way…
Back to the comic…at this point, I think all the companions are humoring their various Doctors, letting each one say they were _clearly_ the best, lol!

Is this an indication of the other shoe dropping? I still have that nagging feeling something will happen. The realization of that the Doctor made about ’someone making him alter his own timeline’ has made me really ponder who would want to do that and who would be capable of manipulation on this scale and who would want to cause all of this. As of yet no villain has come forward and claimed responsibility.
Pete and kittystitcher – “Down to the wire” is actually a phrase from horse-racing. Before the days of the “photo finish,” they used a wire hung over the track above the finish line to help figure out who won in a really close race. But kittystitcher’s right – it means nothing’s decided till the last possible moment.
