The President of Gallifrey is converted to a Time Dalek and with the rest of her Dalek-ized council members unable to contact Dalek Ahn, she resumes her position as leader. She orders the conversions to continue as starts on two more hapless Time Lords.
Nyssa’s body is dying and the Time Daleks decide to remove her brain for conversion. Jack and Maxil look on and Maxil decides that enough is enough. He calls in his own reinforcements.

OMG – Maxil to the rescue ?!!
All this excitement is not doing my fingernails well (keeps chewing)
This is scarfy!
Go Maxil!
Taking matters into his own hands!
Maxil is going to save the day! Excellent.
‘Remove the brain’??! Eeek! I would never have thought I’d be rooting for Captain Chicken Hat, but GO MAXIL! Save that Trakenite!!
NO, NYSSA!!! NO, LEELA!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another great page, Rich. I must admit I thought that they were all freed, but you never cease to surprise, or leave us hanging! What will happen to Leela and 4?
I love Maxil’s first “What have I been…???” Sounds like someone regrets allying himself with the renegade Daleks earlier. And it seems we’ll get to see a big Dalek vs Time Lord Citadel Guards battle, in addition to the awesome Doctors vs Daleks page! YAY!
There aren’t any guards left.
Nyssa! This smurfs!
Nooo!! not Nyssa!! I love this page. I’m glad you’re showing Commander Maxil in a good light. And Jack looks cute.
I second YEAH MAXIL! I’m not surprised, Rich changed scenes, he generally does at the most suspenseful time — excellent storytelling techinque. Keep up the GOOD work RICH!
Wow! This is just amazing! If I’ve kept track of everybody (and I think I have), this means this is the last cliffhanger we can have…so maybe tomorrow we’ll start finding out what’s happening in the various areas!!! Though…what happened to 5? I didn’t see him two pages back when the Docs were rescuing 10/breaking out…
Anyway, this is so unexpected, Maxil to the rescue! *digs out some pom-poms and starts cheering people on*
At first, I thought Rich had the first 3 panels’ pictures out of order, then I realized he didn’t, I just was mixing up Time Lords.
So which of these is Caan, They, Jast, and Sec?
@kittystitcher: I’m sure 5’s there somewhere, he was in the line-up when the Daleks took them to be processed.
Awesome page once again, Rich! I hope they can save them, ’cause being Dalek-ised looks excruciatingly painful :/
Poor Maxil! Not exactly the brightest light on the TARDIS console, is he?
Beautiful job, Rich! I’m in a hurry to see how it comes out, but not in a hurry to see it end.
I think it’s telling that Maxil will *not* be hit on by Jack, he’s way too butch for that
Yay, Maxil! At first I thought those might be the Daleks that were hit by the Rani and 4’s plan, but no…we’re still in suspense about them! But oh dear! What can we do about Nyssa?? She could die, you know, since she doesn’t have to come back for the TV show in one piece (as could Leela).. *worries*
Maxil goes to war! Hurrah! I like the look of resolution on his face in the last panel.
Hurrah for the expendable guards! Oh…. hang on…..
Brilliant. I can’t wait. >>
percy! do not mention dieing! nyssa! :*( not good! and, what; maxil is in the same room? btw. go maxil! lol!
Hm. I think we’re seeing the start of the time war. I’m glad that Ten didn’t off Nine or anything, however. It gives Ten (having seen things from the inside) a chance to show his fellows how to Un-Dalek-ize the others, perhaps. Kind of like Picard/Locutus.
“We are the Doctors. You will be un-assimilated. Your uniqueness and individuality shall be restored. Resistance is futile, but rather funny, so keep on.”
Bill M.
They, Jast, and Sec were distroyed duringof Evolution of the Daleks, Caan escaped then but we now know for certian he did not go to Galifrey. If you’ve seen Journey’s End you know his fate.
None of the Daleks in this story are from the cult of Skaro in other words.
Rich, I normally don’t make make threats, but if you do not save Nyssa…
…I shall be very cross with you.
Oh no! Not Nyssa!
And…woah, Maxil. You go!
O god, you mean Colin Baker characters help save the day twice (at least)? Only you could pull that off, Rich.
Cheers,
Os.
Why do they need nyssa’s brain? Surely that’s the one part of her they don’t need. I mean, 10 and the other time lords’s bodies are inside the dalek casings, but their minds have been taken over. Why put nyssa’s brain into a dalek casing if they are just going to overwrite her mind anyway?
I hope what I just said makes sense.
It DOES make sense, Snaresman, but it won’t stop them from making “They Saved Nyssa’s Brain”.
BillM: I thout the same thing for a while when we first learned of the time Darleks butbI don’t think the cult of skaro are.
Is it just me or did Maxil. Intenchinaly not summon gaurds till the prez was converted?
This is so good but save Nyssa please!
I love the sound effect for how the daleks open up. “whirrrr”
Once again great storyline Rich keep up the great work!
At nightfly’s Borg parody: BWA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!
KatKlingon: This could be the creation of Thay, Jast, Sec and Caan. I think that’s what he meant.
Snareman – the brain is the only part of her they do need to overwrite her mind. Daleks are essentially brains with tenticles and a working eye. They only preserved the bodies of the Timelords because their bodies can regenerate, giving them a new biological advantage- normally the conversion processes we’ve seen just work their way up to (or whittle down to) just the head or brain, imprinted with a Dalek personality, such as they are. The casing takes care of the brain so the body is unimportant.
Without a physical brain, there is nothing to program- and Nyssa’s brain is exceptional. They are looking forward to taking that fancy harddrive and fill it with their programming.
Great page!
THE NEW TIME DALEK EMPIRES NOT OFF TO A GOOD START WITH EVERY DALEK PROCLAMING ITSELF THE LEADER
Yeah, Maxil and Jack to the rescue! So much fun. Thanks for another great page.
Oh dear me!This will not do.Nyssa is not adirc(expendable)and it would really hurt 5 to see his best companion die.By the way has anybody else noticed all the guards on Gallifrey wear red armor(just like red shirts)?
oh and by the way I was up till 3:30 last night reading your fantasty Gamer comic. Its every bit as good as the ten doctors! Some of the human characters look alot like Dr. Who companions. Is that intentional?
Holy Hannah…Ummmmm…Please don’t let her die…Nyssa’s the last of her people…She’s still got so much good left to do…Sigh…Please don’t let her die.
Who am I?: Yeah, YAFGC rocks! I like pg 1000… it’s like you(Rich) wrapped up the whole of it since pg1! But which characters look like DrWHo companions? Glon? Arachne?
Also, Rich, after 1000 pages of YAFGC, is it the end of Bob and the rest? Are you getting new main characters?
Love the expression on Maxil’s face in the last two panels. Just goes to show what a resolute guy he is when he’s not blindly following orders!
The YAFGC discussion is off-topic here. Please take it to the forums.
If the YAFGC characters look like Doctor Companions must be a coincidence, since they’re both drawn by the same artist in the same style; and let’s face this character tend to look alike.
I found interesting how the Dalek tend to claim control from others. Dalek Anh took control inmediatly after the Valeyard was killed; Dalek Tor stole control of Dalek Anh when the Doctors got capture; and now that they don’t seem to have a leader Dalek Prez takes over.
Nightfly– can I quote you on that, cuz I nearly fell out of my chair laughing!
Rich, I could make an attempt at a somewhat intelligent comment, but let’s face it, there’s only one response to this comic. And that response is “SQUEEEEEEEE!”
Good work as always Rich, panel 4 reminds me of a smooth skinned Davros.
Oh BTW, which of the 2 eras is this Jack from, the 9th or the 10th Doctor’s?
I’m only guessing the 9th because you’re drawing him pretty young.
Sorry^
panel 5 hehe
I know nothing’s been shown, but Rich likes his Time Lord/Dalek conversions
Wonder why! xD
Brilliant as ever!
Nyssa :’(
So do we have any ideas as to how Jack convinced Maxil to side with him?
Nice speech Nightfly.
Love the comixs Rich, as always.
)
Serosis: As far as I remember, Jack here comes from a point in time when he has control over Torchwood and Ten hasn’t picked up Martha yet. So it’s probably still a few weeks / months until he meets Ten in his timeline in the series. Nine and Rose haven’t met him yet.
And considering Jack’s condition, his apparent age isn’t really a way to tell from when he comes. He should be around 170-180 at this point. He said something about still aging slowly during LotTL, yes, but if being buried sort-of-alive for another 18 centuries won’t make him look any older…
Maxil’s face in the last panel is realllllyyyyyy goooood
This is so intense! I think I’ve said that a hundred times already lol, but really–the cliffhangers everywhere just make you…well…hang off a cliff… >.>
Hmmm. Nakie Time-Lords. It’s a shame Rich is keeping this one PG-13 as compared to his YAFGC stuff.
And–anyone get the feeling Maxil didn’t have a clue what the Daleks were *really* doing? I get the impression that he was fine with helping them take over the place, but *won’t* tolerate the conversion thing…
*gasp* again!
Citadel Guards vs Time Daleks Battle is a fight long overdue. Now that the council members are dalekized, the Doctors are in charge of the Timelord race by default.
I suspect Maxil had no clue the Keeper was not who everyone thought he was anymore, though I don’t think Maxil would have any idea who the Valeyard is. Maxil was probably just helping the Keeper with no idea what was going on. This is a total shock.
I am addicted to your work! One nitpick: wouldn’t she say “Lady President”, and not “Lord President”?
Lord President Lundar:
Says who?
kittystitcher:
Ah yes, the elusive 5th Doctor. Um… truth is he’s in the bottom left panel crouched down behind the 6th and 7th Doctors attending to the 10th.
Iore:
Maxil and Jack are hiding in a little alcove off to the side. These Daleks are all new and not entirely prepared.
KatKlingon:
All that stuff with the Cult of Skaro happens in the future of this comic setting, so technically their origins COULD be seen here. However, it is also explained that the CoS was put together by the Dalek Emperor to try to understand their enemies better. And we see later on that Dalek Sec and Dalek Caan at least are pure squishy betentacled icky slimey Dalek creatures, so these couldn’t be them. That being said, I have attempted to show through the use of similar naming systems, that these prewar Time Daleks may at least have had some kind of influence on what those later Daleks and the Cult of Skaro become.
Snaresman:
Yeah, they’ll program her to obey and be all Daleky. But they’ll also absorb her mind and all that it knows and understands. The information they’ll get from Nyssa’s brain will be valuable. Or so Dalek Tor says.
M’reen:
YES! Well said, thank you!
Who am I?/Trevory:
I will answer your YAFGC questions in the forum. Look it up in “The 10 Doctors”/ “Ask Rich” threads.
Serosis:
This is tricky since I kind of fudged the continuity of Sarah Jane and Jack in this comic. He’s SUPPOSED to be from somewhere after Rose makes him immortal in “Bad Wolf” and after he finds the 10th Doctor’s hand from “The Christmas Invasion”. Sarah Jane is from some time after “School Reunion”. However, in both cases that puts Earth in the 10th Doctor’s [current at the time of writing] time line, while the rest of the story takes place in the 8th Doctor’s time line. So it doesn’t really jive very well under close scrutiny.
Chuck:
Imagine this cut scene:
Jack: Before you throw me in jail, let’s see what all the excitement is going on in the lab there, okay?
Maxil: Why? Do you have accomplices in there?
Jack: *Grinning* Maybe.
Maxil: Fine. *peeks inside where Jack was watching*
-hooks up with the comic-
Amagon:
Masculine and feminine titles are vague and unimportant to Time Lords. They use the term “Time Lord” more than “Time Lady” even when used by female Time Lords. I chose to reflect that in her choice of title. Consider it a translation conversion from a language that doesn’t have a gendered title system.
“Rich Said:

Kay, thanks for ’splaining it.
It makes sense at the same of it not making sense, to quote 10, “Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey.”
So this could in fact be more of a connection between 10/9 and 8 than the rest of the Doctors. I don’t wanna ask anymore in the off chance that it could spoil anything.
I suppose when it’s done, you could rewrite some parts to make it take place after Journey’s End.
It’s a thought, I suppose.
Go Maxil? ::rereads page:: GO MAXIL! Some really great art going on here, too.
I like the Dalek conversion in progress: “Madam President! Please! This is monst — hungg — I OBEY! WE ARE THE SUPREME BEINGS!”
“The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend”
or something like that..
GO MAXIL!
Poor Nyssa…
Well as I recall Jack and Sarah Jane entered in the crisis with the Cybermen base on earth. Since the Rani kidnapped all the companions and that inadvertently lead to the cybermen base, I assume that it’s somewhere in the present/future meanwhile the presence of Brigadier Bambera leads me to beleive that scene is set post seventh doctor era. Who knows how long Bambera stays as Brigadeer. She could still lead that regiment of UNIT even in the present/future
If someone must die, let it be Mel.
She won’t be missed.
And Glitz will be grateful.
So I have spoken.
So shall it be done.
Having just read my previous post, I realize how much I’ve gotten into this story. If I can propose killing a fictional character while pleading for the life of another – Crom’s ginormous testicles! It’s a tribute to your skill as a storyteller, Richard!
P.S. I’m serious about popping a cap in Mel’s ass. If I gotta, I’ll hire a couple of hard pipe-hittin’ niggers to come in with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch. YOU HEAR ME TALKIN’, HILLBILLY GIRL?! I AIN’T DONE WITH YOU YET! NOT BY A DAMN SIGHT! I’M GONNA GET MEDIEVAL ON YOUR ASS!
And believe it or not, I am drinking decaf these days.
Aww, Jack has lost the smudge on his nose. I’d assumed he’d got oil or dirt on himself while sabotaging something.
Nice to see Maxil doing something useful, I hope the legions of time daleks (at least those with bodies still intact) can be returned to normal, otherwise the Doctor will be responsible for sorting out Gallifrey by himselves, and I can’t imagine any incarnation is keen on that idea.
Teapot: …maybe that’s why Gallifrey was destroyed. The Doctor didn’t want to worry about paperwork.
I can see 6 doing it…and 9 might just help him.
Since the first Doctor we saw was the 10th Doctor, there’s no reason on Earth that they couldnt take people from the time post School Reunion, and before Torchwood first series finale, Gallifrey is the place where the timeline is stable, the only place in the show that always stayed the year, anywhere else can be flitted to all back and forth.
*Stands in awe of Maxil*
Wow, Rich, you’re doing brilliantly with him!
@ Who am I? : *Gasp* You are right!
*Goes ballistic*
Ahhhh! Star Trek Red Shirt Syndrome! Ahhhh!
~CoZ
I just want to know why is everyone in a Dalek naked?? What does it do? Wait on second thought no I don’t want to know. Well done Rich.
Hmmm. The way I read this page, the President (nude in a Dalek shell) is open-top and exclaiming non-sequiturs about still being lord President. Then she finds out Dalek Ahn is not responding. Then she exits her Lord President rant and tells them it does not matter. Then she closes her case and says she is in command. Then her case is suddenly opened and she is sitting in her Dalek case, head down while the fellow next to her is pleading while some other Dalek orders that the conversions should be continued. This is very confusing to me.
No, she’s in the closed case, her conversion complete, and is taking charge of the Daleks now that the other leaders are missing – that’s someone else in the open case, a High Council member just starting their mental conversion.
