Keeping Dalek Ahn with him to repair the Neurological Distillation unit, Dalek Tor sends all the other Daleks after the 4th Doctor so that he can be wired in to make a complete set.
Meanwhile the companions discuss their fate while a K9 sneaks up to the cell door.

So, Dalek Tor has his mad little rant. He basically is the Doctor turned into Davros isn’t he? Controlling the Daleks, screaming his head off, getting defeated by the fourth Doctor, all we need now is for the Daleks to betray him!

Since there are relatively few daleks who are controlled by a madman, we can have these entertaining cat-and-mouse games…

I suspect 10 is up to something as well, (something not Dalek-y) but I guess we’ll see. This story is on par with Lost.

About time the K-9s started arriving! Hmmm, are we about to find out if Ace has some Nitro-9 with her? Ten’s just a ToeRag to her, though yes she would have seen him before the Rani snatched all the companions. Still maybe she could take out Dalek-Ahn. We’ll see and Rich, yes your Four is wonderfuly drawn.

If 10 is still on the side of the angels, he’s succeeded in getting all the Daleks but one away from the imprisoned Doctors, and isolating the head Dalek. I wouldn’t want to be in Dalek Ahn’s shoes (ball-bearings… whatever) right now.
Anyone care to hazard a guess on who said what in the companions’ conversation there?

Maybe he did notice and he’s actually against the Daleks. He realises Four isn’t there and he just knows Four will turn up, so he goes along with the Dalek plan knowing Four will arrive. Maybe?

Yeah, K9 will free the companions and THEY will save the day. (What? It’s their turn!) Four leads most of the Daleks off–hopefully the Doctors will take down Dalek Ahn. Although I’m worried…we didn’t see 8 and 9 getting mind raped, but the rest were. Was that just the beginning of the process or are 8 & 9 the only operational Doctors (besides 4) at the moment? Also, how do you take the essence of a projection?? *waits for the next page which will probably not answer my questions and just add more, but that’s the fun of it!*

I’m not sure who asks “What’s going to happen to us” — could be nearly anyone except Jamie (no Scots accent in the dialogue so it’s not him) or Ace (Just not the way she talks). For some reason I’m hearing Turlough’s voice for “Get turned into Daleks I expect.” It seems suitably negative for him. The “Some of us. The rest of us just disposed of I’ll wager.” Seems like something the Briadier would say — pragmatic, cool and unflappable — just stating the facts as he sees them. The “Don’t worry, I’m sure the Doctor has a plan.” Seems like something Jo Grant would say — boundless faith in the Doctor and always trying to be optimistic and cheerful.

“Getting turned into Daleks I suspect” is a Romano line since she’s a timelord and that is whom they are turning into Daleks.
Fun! 4’s plan is working in that he got most of them out, 10’s Tor’s slight of hand helping out- I agree Dalek Ahn just got handed if not a red shirt, a visiting Admiral shirt
which involves a certain amount of deserved humiliation before destruction. 10 still seems to waffle between 10 and Tor, and we still don’t know how much he’s streamlined his goals between them!

So leela’s battered old k-9 was last seen with the 4th doctor, but now he’s returned, leaving that k-9 behind where ever he was… and sarah-jane’s and 4’s two k-9’s were last seen escaping with the rani. Now one of those k-9’s have returned and the other is presumably still with the rani.
I wonder if there will be a k-9 reunion at the end.

Ooh! Ooh! I can really hear 10 speaking in a Dalek voice. (panel 3!) And yet he’s now alone in the room with just Dalek Ahn, who was only converted at the beginning of this story, right? Oh, the suspense!
@ James Swann, I can’t see “I’m sure the Doctor has a plan” being either Romana really since Romana would be likely to come up with a plan on her own and she was often fond of needling the Doctor about his intelligence and lack of planning (From “The Horns of Nimon” — THE DOCTOR: He didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. ROMANA: Oh, well, people often don’t.)

And I must say, while it’s in character for Four to be meddling, he does get rather full of himself at times. (I prefer Five in general. Yay cricket!)
The suspense is killing me! My excitement in waiting to see how this all turns out in the end rivals that of my obsession with Stargate. This is without a doubt one of the best stories I’ve ever read.

@Mitchell Craig I must agree this is much better than “52″, “one year later”, and RIP. the only good thing that came from “infinite crises” was the death of Kon-El and the creation of Emo-Drake. Superboy had it coming and Robin was getting too cheerful. “crises on infinite earths” just sucked and the “death of Superman” was a horrible case of false advertising. I did like “Identity Crises” though… so its not all crap

ten has the “I must BE WHOLE” thing going on… i get the feeling that if he were whole he could overcome the dalek conditioning. maybe four just screwed things up? i can picture lots of simultaneous rescue attempts going on and lack of communication making them fail. for example four going to rescue the companions but finding them gone because the Rani beat him to it.
I’m also looking forward to the reactions of the doctors and companions finding out that jack isn’t dead.
didn’t Ten say at the end of season three that he could “feel” jack? do the other doctors already know that jack is immortal? jack showed up during the cyberinvasion so maybe the doctors haven’t come in contact with him or were distracted at the time?

Wonder what’ll happen to 2.5? Maybe he’ll do something heroic and die in the process–he’ll certainly be missed, of course, but y’know…he can die. The others can’t, really, or it’ll mess up the real TV show.
So 4 destracts the Daleks while K-9 (and not the stained one I thought 4 had… D: ) releases the companions and they save the Doctors for a change!

Man, I really can’t tell if Ten is just being uber sneaky and is fooling the Daleks while he plots their destruction from ‘the inside’, or if he really is just as cracked as he sounds and our other Doctors will have to connect with him mentally to break his conditioning, similar to The Five Doctors.
But at least for now I can cheer on Four and K9 and wait on Jack to make his dashing reappearance on the scene and really throw people for a loop.
We have 4 sets of hero’s working on saving the day, to my count.
We have Doc 4
We have Rani and the K9’s (which, by the way, had a wonderful single in 1963 that made it all the way to Billboards top 200).
We have Dak-Tor who may be planning something underneath that Dalek shell.
We have Jack–waking from the dead to rush to the rescue.
Further we have a very angry Doc 8 and Doc 9 who were not put out of commission by the whole brain drain thing.
And we now will have The Companion Army which could divide and redivide into many other groups of heroic participants.
The result that I predict that everyone will get in everyone’s way.

4 is always the type to get in the big big troubles with daleks ans so is 10 if you look at the amout of doctor’s that face the daleks. 4 and 10 have faced daleks so so much. I like how number 4’s face has been done it’s kind of making me think that tom baker is hot. (no I don’t have a crush on him) Thats how good Rich as drawen the 4th doctor. Rich if you could when 10 gets out of the dalek thing (which will most likely happen because every story has a happy ending ) draw a really cute picture of 10 which you mastly will do because you have to draw him at the end( dah ). Just one more thing why does number 10 always get hurt. The hot doctor always has to get it why why why!!! ( CRYS!). Hope there’s one on Friday because I love Fridays and I love this comic 2 in one what do you think about that!! Can’t wait Rich keep them comin! ;]

The other poster had said that the companions would be safe because the Daleks were only converting Time Lords — Nyssa is still not a Time Lord ergo the Daleks are not converting exclusively Time Lords.
Also, Nyssa is argueably “human” what she is not is an “Earthling”.
And just in general…. the thing I find hilarious is that everyone playing “guess which companion said what” all seem to agree on Turlough and the Brigadier for those two lines.
Stormwolf I belive she would,in the immortal words of Anthony Ainley when I asked him what it was like to work with Kate O’Mara,”Touched me deeply!”(a reference to her kneeing him in the crotch.Rich recreated it with her giving Glitz the same treatment).The crosseyed look with the crossed legs he did was too funny for words.(in real Life Anothony was a bigger skirt chaser than Jack!)
Happy endings are boring. Tragic endings are…well…depressing. Bittersweet is the way to go – Hans Christian Anderson all the way! None of that syrupy Disney nonsense…trading her voice for legs, hmph! She had her tongue sliced from her mouth as payment…theoretically, she could still make noise…
But…back on topic. I can’t wait to see how this all turns out. Personally, I quite like the unfinished, uncolored style better than those few colored pages. The sketchy roughness makes it feel more alive, you can really feel the movement and such. And I don’t care if it has a happy ending or one that rates up with a kicked puppy on the sad factor, so long as it’s the ending that fits the story. I don’t know what ending that is, mind you, but I don’t have to.
And I don’t think D-Tor has a plan beyond a universe of his own making. Don’t you see? He’s like the worst possible creation ever – the logical, single minded programming of a Dalek, combined with the arrogance and control-freak attitude of Ten. Euugh. Think of what he’d do to the universe…”for its own good.” I hate that about Ten especially…he really has to have everything agree with him, or else he gets in a hissy fit.
Could the 10th converted doctor have been trying to link up with his other selves and then the 4th interfered? We’ll never know for certain but then again why have the other doctors not done that to join forces with the 10th doctor? Would that have actually helped the situation? Another question I have about the situation is does Davros know of the 10th doctor’s conversion and could he still have a part to play. He was still confident the last time we saw him. Then again I don’t think we have seen the real mastermind behind the whole scenario but then again I could have missed something. Could we have seen the true mastermind and missed it this whole time?
I’m still going with my theory that there’s two personalities at work, 10, and Dalek Tor. He seems to swing between them.
Go K9! Always wanted a robot dog. Shame he has wheels instead of legs though. I can’t see him doing stuff such as mountain climbing. *Imagined sound of shattering nuts and bolts*.

Here’s a question for Rich (or anyone who cares to tackle it): How would Dalek Ahn, or any Dalek for that matter, repair the equipment? How, indeed, do they build ANYTHING? They don’t have arms, let alone hands! I’d always assumed that they use slaves for manual labor, but Dalek Tor doesn’t say anything about making, say, the captive Time Lords do the work. So, how then…?
Carol – of course it’s a large cell…. but like the TARDIS, it’s only large on the inside.

Well, there’s no need for cranes and things to build high stuff since they can levitate…hm. Good point. How on Earth (or Skaro) do they build their equipment?! Do they have to open up their bodies and use their tenticles or something?
Cfhuber: Daleks do use slaves for manual work (Destiny of the Daleks). These are the workforce unsuitable for anything useful. Ogrons are (were) also used for shock troops as they were good at blindly obeying orders and enjoyed killing.
Daleks sink plungers (sorry, manipulator arms) have more prehensility these days. In ‘Dalek’ (2005), it used it to crack the code on a keypad. Also, the manipulator could be interchangable, as in Hartnel’s first Dalek story, a Dalek with a flame-thrower arm was seen to cut through a metal door; either they are fitted when needed for action (maybe a swiss army manipulator), or you have a Dalek assigned a particular role (ala Special Weapons Dalek)

Did anyone notice in the latest Dalek episode, Davros’ guard Daleks had kind of metal plungers? Also they were able to take Jack’s body by making him levitate. Mabe that’s another feature of their plungers.
