I’m feeling better so I’m hunting down the muse. Here’s another page for “The 10 Doctors” so you don’t give up on us.
In space over Earth the “battle of 5 armies” continues but numbers are dwindling. While Davros’ flagship picks off a couple of Sontaran battlecruisers, a Movellan assault shuttle homes in. It smashes into the back and drills through the hull.
Davros sends a Special Weapons Dalek to take care of business, but the Rani drops a bulkhead in its way, diverting its route.

I should have realized that with you trying to incorporate as many caricatures as possible that it was only a matter of time before the “special weapons Dalek” made a appearance. I like to call them dalek’s with bazookas, even though that’s not technically accurate.

Niiiiice! I actually nearly forgot about Davros for some reason, and It’s great to see the Special Weapons Dalek appear. I’m almost surprised that in an emergency situation, the Daleks didn’t just shoot their way through the door.

Wonderful new page! I’m glad you’re feeling better, BTW. One question: since Davros suddenly goes from a head in a special Dalek casing to himself again, are you going to try an explanation at that? Maybe something as a tieing it all up as the comic ends and this is what happens with Davros, and these guys, and those guys type thing?

@Sean: Naw, the head-in-casing Davros was just an android duplicate in “Revelation of the Daleks.” What i want to know is happened to his wirey body from “Remembrance of the Daleks.” Nice of RTD to remember he’d had his hand blown off in “Revelation,” though, i suppose.

I only came across this marathon strip the other day – and I’m now completely hooked. It’s utterly brilliant! To juggle this many characters and narrative threads – and to do so with such skill and inventiveness – is a tremendous feat.

when the vaunted Special weapons dalek is deated by a bulkhead (especially the bulkhead of the its own ship!) it makes you understand why by parting of the ways the SWD was equipped with a blowtorch to cut through bulkheads (great bit of continuity there Rich)

Why does everyone think the SWD should blow up the bulkhead?
Has no one watched remerance? (well i haven’t actually but i’ve seen a couple of clips) look at what happens when it fired that think at the gate explodes spectactually and it think thats exactly the last thing they’d want to do to part of their own already heavily damaged ship?
That said would the Daleks even care? they would never admit that something could ever put them in danger
and now it just has to be said
“DALEKS have no concept BULKHEADS!!”

In this timeline, the Doctor hasn’t met Toclafane, Wilf, Vashta Nerada, Weeping Angels, Astrid, Max and Jackson. So that’s them off the list.
There’s no reason for the gas mask children to be in here because they’re not aliens and they just won’t come back anyway. I believe we’ve seen a Slitheen in a crowd scene at some point already. The Doctor hasn’t met the Trickster. As for Mickey, at this point in Ten’s timeline, he’s living on Alternate Earth (this is set before the series four finale… a long time before actually). See the FAQ for anything more I may have missed
actually i just thought of something after reading McGann’s the Mann’s comment: the Dalek in Parting of the Ways used a BLOWTORCH to get through the window/bulkhead. How could it have done that when it was in a vacuum? A blowtorch uses a FLAME which requires OXYGEN, which is absent in a vacuum. Hmmm…..
494alex: Nah, One Dalek uses a blow torch to get through the door on the inside, while 3 others hover down by the window and break it with a standard dalek laser :p

And come to think of it if there are ten Doctors why only one master, and what abot Adipose (They are an empire we just saw babies) and Reapers (like in Fathers Day)

The Doctor hasn’t met the Doctor on-screen and Rich is using on-screen references and canon. The Absorbaloff was shite and just doesn’t fit into this plot. Hold on, have you even been reading this plot? Toclafane, again, aren’t just cool. They’re humans from the end of time, meaning (again) they wouldn’t need to be in this story. And they don’t fit. Why only one Master? Rich has explained this. Four/Five Masters would just be confusing, basically. The Doctor hasn’t met Adipose yet (sure, they could still pop by, but why? Little blobs of fat in this plot – just, no). As for reapers – they’re just not in here.
The more names you fly out, the more explanations like this you’re gunna get. Rich won’t take requests because he has a set plan, as Mitchell Craig said, so be cool and get what you’re given. Just be grateful we’re getting this continuity-fest of a comic to start with.

Thanks for reading and enjoying the comic. But like has been said above, there’s a LOT of things I’d love to work in as cameos. The show’s been on for over 40 years and there’s millions of things I simply don’t have time to cover.
Zarbi, Menoperta, Optera, Monoids, The Malus, the Mara, the Vervoids, the Candyman, the Tetraps, the Vardans, theShadow, the Macra, Salamander, Meglos, the list goes on and on and on and on and that’s just from the classic series, let alone stuff that has been shows SINCE I came up with my story. It simply isn’t possible.
So hang in there, I may do another one like it with other things that didn’t make it into this one, possibly including Donna, Matt, other incarnations of the Master, Romana 1, new Cybermen, River whatsername, and maybe even the 11th Doctor.
Or I may decide that this took too much out of me and I’ll never do it again. We’ll see.
Hopefully this won’t take so much out of you that you never do it again, Rich. You have real talent; I’d just like to see you get a little monetary compensation for all the hard work. I know that’s tricky though, so I’ll leave it at that.
What! What’s this? What happened to the Doctors on Gallifery? I was hopping to see that now! Why do writers always drive attention away when things go interesting?
About the whole not shooting through the bulkhead thing– I put forward the theory used on Babylon 5: If you are fighting a battle inside a spaceship, and you miss your target, one thing you really don’t want to happen is for your shot to damage the outer wall of the ship and let all the atmosphere out of the room you’re in. It’s possible that the bulkhead was made to be tougher even than the SWD’s weapon, for safety. Anyway, nice page, I agree with those who’ve said the glowy effects are cool.
Yeah, logically, if you’re going to make a bulkhead door, you want to make sure that it can’t be just blown through when your entire crew wears particle-beam disruptor rifles as a left hand. They come down for a reason.

I guess another reason they come down is because davros has been betrayed god now how many times by his creations I’m guessing he has a designed thsafe guards to protect himself pn his own flag ship
Rich – I hope that this doesn’t take it all out of you, because it’s brilliant. I rather with you’d have been nominated for a Webbie for best Comic Blog ‘08 – I’ll be forwarding you for consideration in ‘09, for certain. And if I had any money I’d hire you to illustrate stuff I’d written, having scant pictoral skills myself. You’re really good at this, and I hope that it continues to give you the happiness it gives to all of us!
Looking forward to the next page. I’m guessing all the Doctors and companions will be arrving on Gallifrey at some point. This is only a recommendation, and you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to, but if/when the other Doctors and Companions arrive, a good landing site would be outside the citadel so they can take in the entire planet. Sarah, Tegan, the Brigadier and Turlough only saw Gallifrey from the Death Zone, and Nyssa only saw it from inside the citadel. She never ventured out like Leela had. Besides Rose and Jack seeing Gallifrey would make a nice ‘Nine’ moment I think. Plus other companions reactions to seeing Gallifrey would be priceless too.
I thinik we need to stop giving Rich advise on how to do his comic (Hypocritical, I know, sorry about that) and just let him work on it. If he wants to do things, he will, and if he doesn’t then he won’t. Sorry, but even though I like reading the comic and associated comics for each page, it’s just annoying when most of the comments are suggestions for the next page, or the end, etc. I know what I asked could be considered a suggestion, and for that I apologize, but looking back at all the suggestions from page 1, I realize how annoying it must be for Rich.

Will you be finishing it up before, out of necessity, it becomes the 11 Doctors? Since David Tennant will be leaving the role at the end of 2009 to be replaced by Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor.

i didn’t understand the last panels about that ‘letter’. what made 8 regenerate into 9?? (seems i’m a bit thick. ha?! ;P )
Hello Parn – Rich explained all in the comments section for 8-9 regen page. Eight is forced to regenerate by a paper-cut to the tongue.
Although some have suggested an alternate explanation – that Eight is poisoned by some ‘bad glue’, which apparently would reference something similar that happened in an episode of Seinfeld. Tee-hee!

Just read about your flu outbreak. I can relate, my brother had Gastro at about the same time. I’m glad he didn’t have it this week, it’s a heatwave (40C or a bit over 100F. For the scientists thats 313K)
