While the 2nd Doctor waits in the console room, the 2.5th Doctor and Glitz head down to the primary engine room of the TARDIS. There they find the main maint shunt valve. The 2nd Doctor primes the system and the TARDIS dematerializes. But the 2.5th Doctor and Glitz haven’t pulled it yet!

nice work Rich
Rich, I really do love the way you have intertwined these stories so masterfully.
Thank you for the greatest story ever told.
Aww. Thanks!
But I think “The Greatest Story Ever Told” wasn’t this.
Dun dunn duunnn! *Dramatiac reverb*
The plot’s thickening away quite nicely Rich.
Has the TARDIS picked up a hitch-hiker, or maybe two? Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent perchance?
Typical Glitz – good characterisation – can hear them all – 2.5 is a cross between Patrick and Jon!
I do think it’s sad that the Doctor doesn’t really like his other selves – if you can’t get along with yourself……he should at least be able have a laugh with / at himself
love the way you’ve done 2.5 here, almost but not quite pertwee!, lookin spiffy
Hmmm. Who’s interfering with the Second Doctor’s TARDIS?
Is Omega finally entering the fray (Aieee!)?
Or maybe the Brigadier’s team have come to the rescue (Hurrah!)?
So from the looks of the pin on Three’s lapel, he’s an *official* member of the Federation! Well, *a* Federation, at least.
“How much does a ship like this cost, anyway?”… That’s a question I never thought to ask, but now realize that I am dying to know! Not very satisfied with the answer, though:)
The Doctor’s now threatening himself (or at least some sort of projection of himself). I wonder what that means psychologically?!
By the way, Rich, thank you for writing “anyway”, not “anyways”, which is a small pet peeve of mine.
Rich, I must congratulate your story craftsmanship again, after all the heavy action the last two pages are a welcomed reprieve. Already at the end of this page the action is picking up again and we are ready for it. For some reaason I’m thinking Drax and Nine are due fior a reappearance soon. Whatever you have planned, Keep up the Good Work!
heh, i like the 2 1/2 Doctor! i do hope he goes along for quite some time in this story.
You are spoiling us, Rich. I thank your muse so much!
And Hilary.
Rich: OK, I’ll bite. Which story do you consider “The Greatest Story Ever Told” then or have you not finished writing it yet?
A follow up to that: what do you consider to be the greatest Doctor Who serial?
Umm, “The Greatest Story Ever Told” was the title of a 1965 epic movie about the life of Jesus. It started just about every famous actor of the time including Max von Sydow (Jesus), Charlton Heston (John the Baptist), Telly Savalas, Angela Landsbury, Sydney Poitier, Martin Landau, Shirley Winyters, Roddy MacDowall and John Wayne as a Roman centurion who delivered teh line “Truly this man was the son of God” : )
I’d totally forgotten about Omega and the Toymaster! I was just wondering if the White Guardian of Time was stepping in here……
Ah- so if we just spend 300yrs studying temporal and mechanical physics, we get a tardis by default!.. Have to get started on that. (I know, you’re going to say 300yrs is an awful long time to spend studying those two subjects, I’ll be 3XXyrs old by the time I get a tardis, but I ask you, how old will I be in 300yrs if I don’t study them?
Just as well Doctor 2.5 didnt tell Glitz that tardis’s dont cost money, bcs they’re not for sale -Glitz would have to steal one like he did.
The Greatest Doctor Who Serial?
See the forum.
Meanwhile, it’s fun seeing 2, 2.5, and Glitz after so many pages.
“Listen, buster, I brought you into this space/time continuum, and I can take you out of it!”
Like that engine room, too.
The sight of the TARDIS really warmed my heart. It just seems so safe, but then… what’s going on now?
So there’s 2.5.
Still pining for my Billy Hartnell…
Another Rich: It’s not toymaster. It’s the celestial toymaker.
300 years studying temporal and mechanical physics. And he still only scrapes through with 51%. On his second attempt! (Romana, The Ribos Operation)
Yay for new pages! I’d forgotten all about Glitz. LOL
Ohhhh, what a troubling ending… GWR
I love 2.5 – It’s going to be really sad if he has to be un-projected.
Toymaster? Isn’t that a chain of toy shops? Now I want to go into one and start demanding they tell me their plans for world domination.
As long as we don’t have to deal with the Puppetmaster. And those pining for ol’ Doc One (Don’t call him “Doc”), That what Two was about too do, but had too get his TARDIS fixed first.
Happy Birthday Rich! Sorry I missed it but I will raise a glass to you on friday.
2.5 reminds me of someone, I just can’t think who and it’s bugging me! Before anyone says it’s because it’s a mix of 2 & 3, I mean someone from RL!
Brilliant work as always Rich, part of me doesn’t ever want this to end!
Love to all,
Saph

“Kindly refrain from addressing me as ‘Doc’”;
That’s not my Billy but I do miss Richard Hurndall too.
But that’s OK, Billy objected to Dodo calling him “Doc.” (The Ark)
I just found this, and I think you’re Brilliant!!! I’m certainly going to be an avid reader from now on. Looking forward to next page.
I think rassilon should step in near the end.
Isn’t Rassilon pretty much behind everything dealing with the Doctor(s) and temporal paradoxes?
BTW, love your nod to “The Five Doctors,” Rich. I think that still stands as my all-time fave episode from the original series.
I hope Rassilon stays out of it. He’s the one character I don’t think would fit in. But who knows? Only Rich.
Rassilon could teach the BBC lessons about merchandising. He put his name on nearly everything important in Timelord history. Sash, Rod, Key, Great Key, Coronet, Harp, Ring, Tomb, Coffee Mug, Shopping Bag…
Every page I read just makes me more anxious to read the next one. Good job Rich!

Aww. Thanks!
But I think “The Greatest Story Ever Told” wasn’t this.
^LOL
Gah! Now I’m right on the edge of my seat wondering what/who has affected the TARDIS. AND wondering what happened to 1…
Oh interference!!!!
But who has the powers to interfere with the TARDIS?
I love the cost of the TARDIS and the threat from 2 to 2.5
you really are the cherry on the cake (the cake being the comic, you actually have the time to comment on our comments and write a comic) you are brilliant
“We haven’t done anything yet.”
That’s my favorite kind of cliffhanger: the mystery from out of the blue!
I wouldn’t count the Master out just yet, he has died like umpteen times before and come back from worse
(my two cents)
Again, your comments come so fast and so furious that I do not have time to get them all anymore. So once again, accept my apologies for not responding to each and every one.
I want to thank you all very much for the compliments and the birthday wishes!
Wildcat:
Hehehe, no, that’s actually a handkerchief in his pocket. He isn’t sporting the Enterprise insignia (Or Starfleet if you’re into the post TOS stuff)
Darren:
As mentioned in reply by Rorschach, “The Greatest Story Ever Told” is the Gospel. However, I will explain which Who shows are my favorites in the new thread in the forum.
Mreen:
Default? Nooo.. you have to take the classes and qualify to be assigned a trip with one. The only way you’re going to *get* one is to steal it like the Doctor did.
JustAWanderer:
I got the idea for the engine room from the novelization of “The Edge of Destruction” (1st Doctor, 3rd episode). My copy is illustrated and there’s a scene where the Doctor and Ian go down into the massive steam-punk styled engine room. Can’t remember how they handled that scene in the show, or if they changed it.
Saph:
Well, he is based on an actor from a fanfilm.
http://www.doctorwho-devious.com/cast1/the_doctor.htm
But I’m guessing that’s not who you mean.
Bagelman:
Welcome and thank you! Glad to have a new reader!
the oncoming satsuma:
I wish I could keep doing it, but there’s SO many now. I come home to work and there’s anywhere from 40 to 60 comments! I just don’t have the time.
Saph: While it’s not exactly real life, for some strange reason, he reminds me of the lead actor on Primeval. Cutter is his character’s name, I think.
Uh-oh! Ok, why did the TARDIS vanish if they didn’t do anything yet?!
Oooohhh…ominous….
~CoZ
Yah more Doctor 2.5 ! But whats this some unseen force has made the tardis dematerilize? like Child of Zion says ominous… Say Rich how did you come up with the tardis engine room?
awesome!!!!!
brilliant as always!
Oooh, things are heating up in space – and i don’t mean the gunfire from the battles!
Excellent work, Rich! You leave us coming back for more! (Did anyone pick up the vague pun there? The Tardis disappears, aka. leaves, and then reappears…? *Sigh* ok, i’ll stop the bad puns now…I’ve been on a roll recently – many lame puns have come into existence the past few days…)
for one pound, I wont interrupt this comment page,or the next one.
Someone’s been watching Python.
Rich: So it was an optical illusion? Nevermind me, then! ^.^;
Marvelous!!!
(and that’s the 2.5th Doctor’s catchphrase from ‘Devious’!!)
