The 10 Doctors – Page 119

The 1st Doctor manages to delay his crash into the dying sun of Proammon and uses his bought time to try to contact another of his selves to come and help him escape.
The 2nd Doctor, already open for telepathic contact, picks up the signal and decides that an extreme situation requires an extreme solution. He decides he has to project another self.

project another self what does that mean he gonna make a copy of himself lol

2. Dean (Number36)

Project another self? Now that was unexpected, and what a cliffhanger!
I’m guessing watcher type projection, rather than a suprising cameo from the Cushing Doctor.

3. eleventhdr

oh yeah now this i like the doctor is always just slighty ahead of even himself porject himself oh yes please do continue we will see just what he will do next the doctor gotta love this guy man what can you say the doctor forever and then some oh yeah!

4. Gecks

so, in the begining there were no brainy specs, just a brainy monocle :D

looking forward to this, projection no. 2 is going to perform!,

im sure there are a few other errors in typing, but the only one i could see, was Enexpected, instead of Unexpected *nit pick* look forward to your next page ooooeeeeoooooo weeeee ooooooo oooo woo woooo woo woooo eeee wooooo.

5. Captain Shade

Ow. My head hurts…LOL. And another update so soon. Can’t wait to see what he’s got up his sleeve. You really are leaving the 4th Doctor fans to go rabid, aren’t you…LOL. But, I got four strait pages of Pretty Lady. So I’m happy. Keep up the good work!!!

6. Dev

XD and im one of those rabid fans of the 4th lol!

Doesnt matter though. Another page so soon is fantastic!

7. wulfae

unexpected new page ftw!

And Two also ftw. :D Not sure about this ‘projection’ thing, though. What could he be doing?? Da-dah-DAH!

8. Whatsit

Yow–if they ALL pulled that, we’d have Doctors running around all over the place…and Rich’s brain would explode trying to keep up with them all!

9. Tom

Awesome, very interesting turn of events. Hoping to see Susan, Zoe, Turlough and Jo soon. Can’t wait to find out how that whole “capturing the Rani’s TARDIS” thing went, and how it will tie in to the rest of the story.

10. Lila Kooks

Hmmm….interesting. Well, if 2 doesn’t rescue his predecessor, then they’re all toast! And I hope 4 is ok….

11. Fangarius

Definitely clever, doubt the Valeyard foresaw this. But as I’ve learned with the Second Doctor, nothing is impossible for him. Even if the risks are great.

12. Anita

Hey Rich—

Is it my imagination or did you draw the second Doctor to look like the 7th? I could be wrong, but they look like they could be twins…

And thanks for the new page, dude…I’ve been waiting all of 3 days for it…I know you’re busy….how about some info on 4 and 10????

a.

13. JustAWanderer

I’ll be laughing if the projection takes the form of one of the non-canon Doctors — Peter Cushing, Rowan Atkinson, the Shalka Doctor, etc.

14. carol

Project himself? What is 2 talking about? Where is 10 and what happened to 4?

15. joe england

Excellent Hartnell, I must say, Rich.

16. A.leon

Oh good I was really starting to worry about 1 and everyone kept forgetting him while they were fretting over 4.

17. Dave

I can only assume this is hearkening back to K’Anpo who was somehow able to project his future self as Cho-je in “Planet of the Spiders.” K’Anpo had been the Doctor’s hermit mentor back on Gallifrey. Or Rich has something completely different planned, but I’m looking forward to some bickering. :)

18. Countess

Love how you’ve drawn the different Tardises…. differently :)

19. Captain Shade

You also forgetting the Watcher (Doctor 4.5)

20. Vroom Socko

Good Lord, JustAWanderer! If we DO get an Atkinson Doctor out of this, my head will explode!

Go on, Rich, I dare you. Blow my mind…

Oh, and speaking as an avowed 4 fan, give me more of Hartnell and Troughton! I recently had the chance to watch The Rescue for the first time, and it gave me a new appriciation of Hartnell’s work. (Prior to about three years ago, I hadn’t even seen any episodes prior to Pertwee. Now I have all the Hartnell and Troughton DVDs.)

21. plurgid

The details really impress me. Like the hanging monitor in #1’s TARDIS …
Wow, wow, wow.
Please don’t ever let this story line end … ;-)

22. Grandpa Chet

So two different doctors are falling into two different suns at two different times? I wonder if eventually we shall see all the different doctors falling into suns at different times at the same time — Oh, my head hurts!

23. Sean

One thing I’ve noticed in this comic is that Troughton and McCoy are both drawn with very large eyebrows. :D

24. Antonius

Is this going to be………..Sylvester McCoy? Just kidding.

The Watcher…?

25. Antonius

BTW loved the way 2 reacted to unexpected telepathic communication – brill! ;)

26. herk

Ha! That’s the spirit Two!
Not waiting for help but resueing others.

27. Isi

copies of the Doctor?
*refers to the link above*

28. Serosis

I must say, these are surprising me every day…

Love the portrayal of Hartnell, the monocle, him holding onto his vest, the “quites”, it’s perfect :D

The 1st Doctor is one of my fav’s

29. DoctorParadox

When did the first doctor get a monacle? And what is the second doctor getting two of him?

30. Rassilon001

A projection…? The Watcher? My you certainly -are- pulling out all the stops. Then again, with this much chaos in the universe, it’s going to take everything and more to put it right.

Speaking of which, it’s been a while since we heard from our buddy Omega. What’s he doing, I wonder?

31. Emanuel Nordrum

Just as I thought this comic was at its most convoluted! :D

32. ch1ps

er, Rich, you spelt ‘unexpected’ wrong in the fifth panel…

I love the first Doc’s monacle! heehee…so old fashioned…*sigh*

I also love Glitz and the 2nd Doc’s banter :-D

“Project another self”? Has this happened before or are you making it up?

33. Eala Dubh

And it’s ‘Aggedor’.

(pedant)

34. Rich

To answer today’s FAQ, I’ll explain more fully here, then go on with some individual answers:
“Project another me!” What’s the 2nd Doctor talking about?

As pointed out by some of the readers already, this was seen in “Planet of the Spiders” where K’Anpo Rompoche, a powerful Time Lord posing as a monk on Earth projected his next incarnation as a freewilled entity to serve him in the guise of his servant Cho’Je. The mysterious white unformed figure of “The Watcher” in “Logopolis” was a projection of the 4th Doctor’s next incarnation, though rather than the 5th Doctor, it was taken mid-regeneration. It’s not really clear where it came from, however, since the 4th Doctor was surprised and horrified to see it and the 5th Doctor didn’t exist yet. Could be from the 4th Doctor’s subconscious, projected foreward because of some kind of temporal stress… or maybe the next Doctor realized he had to intervene in order to be formed at all from a future point in time (the precise midpoint of regeneration where the time line split?).
The other time I can think of a Time Lord projecting himself is in “The Auton Invasion” where a Time Lord contacts the Doctor on Earth by projecting himself there from Gallifrey (non-TARDIS teleportation.. unless he’s got a very sophisticated chameleon circuit that can disguise a TARDIS as a Pythonesque twit-of-the-year.) It’s a very similar appearance as the Time Lord in “Genesis of the Daleks” who arrives on Skaro sans TARDIS with the 4th Doctor.
What the 2nd Doctor has planned here exactly, however, I’m not going to say.

Oh yeah. And I can’t spell when I’m tired in the evenings
Enexpected indeed. *Sigh*

Gecks:
Got me. *sigh*

Whatsit: Quite! Quite! Heheh…hmm?

Anita: I didn’t intentionally try to to make the 2nd Doctor resemble the 7th. But in my mind they’re very similar, so they may start to blend in my artwork.
You’ll get more info on the other characters as the story progresses. Fear not.

Dave: Good catch!

Gold star.

Countess: I have an obsession with some detail and miss others. Kind of pathetic, really.

Slapdash Craze:
Ping, gold star for you!

Vroom Socko: I’ll do my best.

plurgid: Hehehe, thanks! Only thing is, this isn’t the 1st Doctor’s TARDIS. It’s one the Valeyard put him in on Gallifrey.

Grandpa Chet: Nope. The 1st Doctor is plunging towards the sun of Proammon. The 2nd Doctor is just kinda hanging there, stuck.

Sean: I draw them how I see ‘em. *shrug*

Isi: Link? What link? *looks for link*

Doctor Paradox: As far as I can remember he’s always had it. It’s part of his costume, hanging around his neck. I have also seen the 1st Doctor don “brainey specs” very similar to the 5th Doctor’s, which to my knowledge he only uses in “Frontios” and are, presumably a tribute to the 1st’s.

Emanuel Nordrum: Well, I’ve planned out it’s maximum convolution already, so it won’t get much worse, I don’t think.

ch1ps:
I know. *sigh* Gold star for you.

Eala Dubh: Is it? *groan*

Gold star for you.

jim: Uhhhhh… okay.:D

35. Eala Dubh

Could the projection possibly be the Season 6b version of Two?

36. Doctor-Who-Fan

Ya 2 doctors :D :D :D :D

37. Grandpa Chet

Rich: Wasn’t speaking of 2nd doctor falling into a sun (though that may yet happen); was speaking of Five. There are a lot of suns out there, and they seem to get in the Doctor’s way.

38. Grandpa Chet

Oh, and if I’d known gold stars were being given out, I’d have mentioned the misspelling also.

39. The Elemental One

I wish I could give you a gold star but I don’t know how

40. Rob H

the First Doctor is repeating himself and chuckling rather a lot. Has he been drinking? I don’t blame him if so, I’d fancy a stiff drink if I was plunging headlong into the heart of a sun.

41. Rich

Eala Dubh: Well, the season 6b version of the 2nd Doctor is actually just the 2nd Doctor. Same incarnation, not a different version. So, no, not really. That’d be like considering the season 2 10th Doctor a different incarnation than the season 3 10th Doctor.
So, no, I dont’ think so. :D

jim:Click here for FAQ answers.

Doctor-Who-Fan: We’ll see what happens… :D

Grandpa Chet: Ah. Yes. Though the 5th Doctor is actually falling into a planet rather than a sun.

The Elemental One: It’s an image on our webspace. Just make a gold star, save it on your webspace and link to it. :D

Rob H: I’ve often wondered that about the 1st Doctor. I think he’s just a bit addle-minded.

42. Countess

Rich said: I have an obsession with some detail and miss others. Kind of pathetic, really.
I’m kind of pathetic too. I totally missed “enexpected” even though I was half looking for spelling mistakes. Sigh. Okay, I’m totally pathetic.
I would love the Doctor’s projection to be Peter Cushing, tho I don’t think that would really fit into the story. Hey, maybe it will be a version of Three!

43. Jim North

Two’s projection is going to be the Valeyard! IT’S A TRAP! D:

44. Kat-Klingon

Ah Rich, you are saving the best and grandest action for the very last, stll Four has to get his chance to save the day. Now that one is accounted for I do hope you don’t get the Four fanatics to the point of climbing the walls after you! Not to mention the others, but I think the Four fans need a break first. :D

45. Other Chris

So, as I recall “projecting another self” happens when a Time Lord is about to go through a painful regeneration and needs help. He summons a future version of himself to help him through it. Now this…We already have the present Doctors, so I figure he’s going to bring either the Shalka Doctor or Rowan Atkinson, just to bring in a Doctor that is not necessarily “official”. Oh! And since Two’s storyline here takes place in Season 6B, he could very well regenerate into Three!

46. Stef

I feel like Glitz here… I barely understood Logopolis the second time around, although your explaination does clarify most of it.

On another note, why did Two and Seven split up? And where’s the Rani got to?

47. Turnip

I love the way you’ve captured One’s mutterings. One was quite a character. The way he could switch from a senile old coot,to a cranky, spoiled child, to a brilliant (and quite aware of the fact, thank you) scientist within a single conversation…Hartnell was a wonderful actor.
It’s definitely for the best that he and Susan invited (er, kidnapped) Ian and Barbara, though. That made two whole mature adults on the ship.

48. Anita

Kat-Klingon: THANK YOU!!! This 4 fanatic is about to go round the bend with worry here!!!

Other Chris: Hold the phone—MR BEAN played the Doctor???? You have to be kidding me….

Rich: Please please hurry along. I know you’re extremely busy, but I’ve got ants in my chair and it’s starting to hurt….

a.

49. 494alex

Gecks (Comment 4): brainy monocle! classic

50. 494alex

Kat-Klingon (2 up): Yes, Mr. Bean played the Doctor in a Comic Relief spoof of Doctor Who. He eventually regenerated into a woman. Yes, it happened. Now let us never speak of it again.

51. Lisa

The production notes for “Logopolis” say that the Watcher’s appearance was due to…well, I’ll just quote it. I have it committed to memory since I used it in one of my stories:
“The catastrophe about to be unleashed was of such a scale that it distorted the structure of time itself and caused a version of the Doctor to be overlaid on his present.”

I <3 Classic Who DVD Production Notes (now if only the new series got ‘em…).

Anyhoo, YAY for a page and OOO for the cliffhanger. ^^

52. Countess

Anita, look for Curse of the Fatal Death on YouTube for Mr. Bean as the Doctor.

53. Annia

Wow, I just read this entire comic in the past hour… so project another self, hmmm? Now if only they all did that and then we’d have twice as many Doctors to work with… handy. Unfortunately it’d probably upset the universal balance of the Void and the Hand of Omega or some other Time Lord technobabble. Pity. Several more copies of the tenth doctor would not be a bad idea…

54. Merlin McCarley

Fully expecting to see Troughton 1.5 with a 6b badge on, never forget we did not see the Troughton to Pertwee regeneration.

55. Arianna_BadWolf

I’ve been so busy that I couldn’t come back and read updates, but I’m glad there were a few!

Alas, I best be gone… work and all that. Huzzah.. otherwise I’d ramble on more so than I am now….

56. Fangarius

Confidentially, I knew the Time Lords could do this, projecting themselves in other forms. From what Rich alludes to, one suspect the Council utilized this method as well for getting the Third and Fourth Doctor into doing their dirty work.

Mainly because if you can’t identify the exact Time Lord, you can’t get caught, eh?
Anyway, one wonders how Doctor Two will project himself as, in order to save The First Doctor.. but what of the Fourth Doctor presumably demised in the air ducts? (Sorry, couldn’t resist.. XD )

57. WibblyWobblyTimeyWimey

Lol Brainy monocle.

58. Zaphod Beeblebrox

Ya misspelled “unexpected”…

59. Maureen MacDonald

Rich, 5 uses the brainy specs in “Castrovalva” as well. Evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjLUvweXXYg&NR=1

60. Whatsit

Give Rich a star? What a great idea! Let’s see if I can do it….
ALLEY-KA-ZOOP!! *Boom*

Rats. No luck. :X

61. Hilary

Sorry guys – images can only be posted from the admin accounts. Trust me, it’s better that way.

Zaphod: Why do you have pictures of my husband in your gravatar?

62. Rich

Hey Zaphod…. what email address are you using when you post?

63. Captain Shade

Wow…I just noticed Zaph’s Grav’. Why IS he using Rich’s pic?

64. Grandpa Chet

Rich: Ah yes – planet instead of sun. How soon we forget! Sun of a gun!

65. Gecks

*looks forward to Zaphod’s explanation on why rich is in his avatar!* heh heh

66. Captain Shade

Could be all those Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters…He may think he IS Rich…LOL

67. Leeanne

Im so happy we got the athere folder back. you see what i have down is printed each page out and the firest year is in a folder and this year is in a nothere one. But it is good having them in a folder because Ican trace then and coler them in I have one page of one to ten in order of a piture of threr face. Im making a tittle tardis in silver jurly
p.s. Thans Rich for riting this comix it is so nice to be able to talk somone abought Doctor Who.( it is a speshel topik on Duke of ed wallks)

68. Dr. Bunsen

Excellent. “My whole timeline, the universe, and the whole of time are in peril….. time to deploy…. the monocle!”

69. Whatsit

It’s the Monocle of Rassilon!! :D

70. Dan_raven

One would assume that the Brainy Specs are twice as smarty as the Monocle of Rassilon, so if he would have worn them, he probably wouldn’t be needed another Doctor’s help, now would he.

And if they had the Bifocals of Brilliance, or the Three D Glasses of …. oh, never mind.

PS Great work Rich. Thanks.

71. Ghosteh

You know, if Doctor Who.. just… somehow was forgotten. (o.o Yeah, whatever.) And I owned a t.v show company-channel thing, you’d be hired. :D

72. Turnip

Ten has the 3-D Glasses of Void Viewing +1, but I wouldn’t think they’d be much help. Besides, the Monocle of Rassilon has class. It screams, “I don’t /need/ another lens! I’ve got style enough for both eyes!”

73. Isi

@Rich:the one on my name…

*quick! avert your eyes!!’tis too horrible to viewww!!!*

74. Child of Zion

Ok. This is going to be a great big Response to people. If you want to skip to the end (marked by a line of ~)then you can just read my actual comments.

~Oh, no. Don’t even suggest that, Whatsit. Because then one of us would have to finish his comic. And I, well…I would end up drawing stick figures, and everyone would be like, “WHAT?!?!?!”

herk

“Ha! That’s the spirit Two!
Not waiting for help but resueing others.”
~Yup, that is the real Doctor Spirit, right there. :D

I read somewhere that it took 3 days for this one to come up. :D I’m glad, because I was on a trip for 3 days and couldn’t agonize over the next page ! (Ok, yea. Could and did. But it makes it better, somehow, to know that I didn’t miss a ton of great stuff. ;) )

I love how One talks about (and Two, ha-ha) himself.

“I’m sure they’re not so busy that they can’t spare one of me to save myself.” :D

75. Zaphod Beeblebrox

Rich: Lame as it sounds, [deep breath] my sister’s. But I’m not the only Zaphod. My friends friends post their comments under “Zaphod”

…But I swear I aint using yers!

77. Hilary

Zaphod: You’ve posted using Rich’s email address – and therefore his gravatar – seven times so far. Stop that. You’re taking a timeout for a week; use your own email address to post in these comments in the future, and in the meantime, enjoy your new gravatar.

78. Child of Zion

Can we have a huge round of applause (sp) for Hilary, ladies and germs?

79. Captain Shade

If I gave her a round of applause, everytime she did something kewl, I’d never stop clapping.

80. Hilary

Aw, you guys! If I’d known being a brutal webmistress was the route to getting random flattery from virtual strangers, I’d have done this long ago.

Seriously, the only rule in here is basically ‘don’t create work for Hilary.’ If I have to delete a dozen spam-like postings, flame wars or spoilers, that’s work. If I have to spend time answering the same questions that have already been asked and answered a billion times and finally added to the FAQ, that’s work. And if I have to create a new email address to set up with a gravatar specifically designed to embarrass someone who did something dumb and didn’t take the offered ‘get out of jail free if you fess up and apologize’ card?

Well, actually, that’s kind of a perk. ;)

As long as everyone plays nice and acts reasonably mature, we all stay happy. :D

81. Mreen

Heh – but still, good job controlling the spoilers and spammers. I know some people are determined to make posters having a good time a chore for someone else, and I appreciate the fact that you are quick to keep up and kick them out if need be :D ..

82. Turnip

It’s a tough-but-fair system. It’s rare these days to see people who have found a happy medium in their method of discipline. Most are too soft out of a fear of loosing people, and others have dictatorships. You seem to be perfectly willing to offer people a carrot – but you aren’t afraid of using the stick if needed. I wouldn’t call it brutal. Makes me wish more webmasters could get their acts together…I’ve fled plenty of forums because of an inadequate justice system.

I love the view screen in the second panel. Sort of reminds me of the good ol’ bridge stations from Star Trek, though. “What readings are you getting?” “Red square, green square, yellow square, sir!”

83. Gecks

onya hilary, keepin the law, the peace the hubby out of other peoples posts

also, proof that even the first doc had brainy specs!

84. WingedSerpent

I’ve been lurking around reading all of the comics for the last month, and I can’t say anything but ’super cool awesomeness’.
The sheer ordered chaos is so enjoyable. The Doctor (all ten of him) is so in character, as is everyone else (well, as best as I know – I’m still rather young and not as familiar with all the characters as I’m still working to see serials that are less well known, i.e. not 4th or 5th Doctor episodes). I love the drawing style, especially as I can recognize almost everyone immediately.

Oh, and ‘brainy monocle’ – for the win!

And virtual cookies:

86. Mreen

Geck- There he is in brainy specs! His first incarnation was always determined to look important and smart

Winged Serpent – love the lopsided chocolate chip cookies :)

how the heck did zdfh get in the middle of page turner?

88. DalekHunter

I suspect nargles

89. surferartchick

Keep up the good work this is an awesome story :D look forward to more!

90. wulfae

I was quite lost on the internet slang that ‘zdfh’ represented.

XD

91. Hilary

I bet Mreen has a cat.

92. Chris

Ahh yes, now THAT’s the Hartnell I remember.

93. Doctor Despicable

The Brainy Specs Report: Apparently, the Doctor’s eyewear evolves as much as he does. Hartnell began with a monocle (sort of a brainy spec, singular), but later produced a pair of pince nez, then later still, a pair of granny glasses. Troughton, Pertwee and Baker the First either had perfect vision or were too vain to wear specs, except I seem to recall Pertwee using a jewelers’ loupe once or twice. Microscopes and telescopes don’t, or shouldn’t count…

Oh, and Rick – thanks for doing such a bang-up job, and for getting back to 1 as well. I was beginning to worry…

94. Gecks

zdfh Zaphod’s, Doctor Favourite Hartnell?

Rich,
I’m a late comer to this incredible tale of yours. You’re doing something that has been a fantasy or mine (and other comic book creators I know) for a long time. I can only hope that the upcoming IDW series is as good as yours but, somehow I think IDW’s will lack your creative freedom, love and knowledge of all things Doctor Who! Keep up the FANTASTIC work!!! Long Live The Doctor!! Wonderful chap! All of them!! Oh, and if you don’t mind — I find Peri works best in a bikini.

96. PlainSimpleGarak

Oooh, more one and two plotting. I love seeing two in action. Can’t wait to see where this goes.

97. Leeanne

put Dugen in pleass

98. cfhuber

Rich — recently was introduced to the site, and have devoured it all! Brilliant work! I have not, however, scanned all the comments, so I’m sure I’m far from the only one to ask but…where in this amazing constellation of Doctors, Companions, friends and foes is the one and only Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart?? He may be retired, but we know he’s still alive in the era of the 10th Doctor. Surely when the universe is threatened, the Brig must appear!

99. JustAWanderer

You know, after all the times that Rich has said that he doesn’t/won’t take reader requests for specific characters, plot elements, etc., it amazes me how often people still insist on making those requests.
Seriously, am I the only one who understands that my enjoyment of the story DOESN’T give me the right to try to tell Rich how to write it? Let the man do what he’s going to do.

100. Kat-Klingon

JustAWanderer,
I agree, but the key everyone MUST understand is Rich CAN’T just go adding any requested charactors. The plot is set and we’ll just have to see who Rich included in the story – including, or not, THE Brig. Each Doctor is arriving from a set point in their own timeline, which limits or even bans some characters. Rich did ‘fudge’ things a bit with Martha – as Ten is here just after ‘Runaway Bride.’ But that was likely planned before Rich drew the first page.

101. DJ

Re: previous two comments. You sound a little oversensitive because of past comments requesting/demanding certain characters. Fans are going to be fans. However, as a newcomer trying to catch up (119 pages worth! and would you-or would you not have also read all of the comments as you did that?), I think his question is a fair one. UNIT, Sarah Jane, K-9, and Harry Sullivan have been seen. So it is reasonable to wonder where is Brig is. And the Brig has been involved in all but one of the televised multiple Drs stories! So it does seem strange not to see the Brig involved in some way. cfhuber is asking a logical question of the author. And it was done in a polite and respectful manner. So I, for one, can’t classify his comment, in the same category as others who in the past have made multiple postings requesting or demanding that certain characters from the series or the books should be included.
Maybe cfhuber neglected to read the FAQ. That answers some questions about character appearances, but not all such questions. After reviewing the FAQ, I’d like to suggest one addition. Something that I think I’ve seen in the comments section but its not in the FAQ. A brief description of the point in time (episodes) in which each doctor became caught in this plot. Although I don’t think anything (in the FAQ or elsewhere) is going to stop or prevent some people from requesting/demanding that their favorite characters be included. But Hilary is a good moderator and steps in when truly needed.
Hilary–you have never been too harsh or unfair. Keep up the good work!
No doubt, on the very last page, someone will comment “What a shame that so-and-so wasn’t included! He/she would have …” P.S. I am noting this prediction and will try to remember it when I am reading the comments on the final page. I hope I am wrong.

102. Darren

Here’s an idea which could potentially raise a bit of donation money for the site. How about if you were to raffle a chance to appear in the comic strip? It needn’t be a very extensive spot, just being ‘exterminated’ in one panel during a crowd scene or something. I’d pay (within reason, of course) to have my likeness appear in this strip, and I think some of my fellow readers would, too!

103. Tim Jackson

It took me 2 days, but I finally read up to page 119. I can’t wait to read on. Thank you for this enjoyable diversion!

Peace.

104. Ghosteh

Reading 119 pages in 3 hours… -rubs eyes- Not heathly, is it? xD

105. Hilary

DJ: That’s an excellent suggestion for the FAQ; thank you for the reminder! (And I’m not just saying that because you’re flattering me. ;) ) I’ll pester Rich for that list and put it up when we get a chance. Between family and friends visiting in waves and some trips out of town on our part, we’re going to need a fall vacation just to decompress from our working summer! :D

106. Rich

Doctor Despicable: Rick? Oh, ME! Thanks!

Imcr: Oh my! Thank you so much! Welcome and enjoy!

Leeanne: I’m afraid he doesn’t fit into my plans. Sorry.

cfhuber: Heheheh… believe me, I haven’t forgotten dear ole’ Alistair. Keep in mind, though, that when I began this comic and cemented my plans for the story, the last time we’d seen the Brig he was retired and ageing in “Battlefield”. The new Sontaran episodes that mention him hadn’t even been dreamed up. So hang in there and keep the faith.

JustAWanderer/Kat-Klingon: Thanks for coming to my aide, but it was just a simple question this time. He’s right, the Brig is an important character!

DJ: Good suggestions!

Darren: Thanks, Darren. It’s an interesting suggestion, but it’s not something I’m prepared to organize with this comic. The process I go through to create it doesn’t allow for that kind of input. I’ve got to wing it when I have the inspiration. I don’t know what kind of ‘crowd scenes’ are going to come up or when or if at all (and frankly, the fewer crowds and extras I have the better!) So to have a likeness to capture and drop into my semi-planned story just wouldn’t work out so well. YAFGC is a better medium for that sort of interaction.

Tim Jackson: Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it! More to come, I promise!

Ghosteh: Hahahahha… 3 HOURS? I appreciate the dedication!

Hilary: I’ll get right on that!

107. Gecks

well before requests are banned and sent heavy warnings, im gonna put my request in…. i wanna see elmo come and save the first doctor, and then skip off with dororthy to go see the wizard

108. Captain Shade

Dorthy? As in Ace? LOL

109. Josh

Thank you.

110. Gecks

nahh shade, dorothy as in, I’ll get you my pretty, and your little dog too, wha hahahahahahaa…..ha

might as well chuck in danger mouse too….

he’s terrific, he’s magnific, he’s got several personalities, Doctor whoo, da na na na na na, doctor who etc etc….

111. Hark

Does any body realise Georgia Moffett ( u no Jenny in E6 of S4)
actuall has red hair?!

112. Chris

Hark: Yeh, i saw georgia in a magazine with red hair. I think it suits her.

113. Chris

Message to Rich

Can I write a novel of The Ten Doctors, Please.

114. Anita

Rich—

I know you’re really really busy….but I’m going through withdrawals here not seeing any new pages…I’m going to start the DTs here (a thing alcoholics go through, and it ain’t pretty) soon if there isn’t at least a new page up…..

Thanks, Rich.

a.

115. cfhuber

My apologies to Rich and anyone else who may have been offended by my stepping on the “no requests” policy, and thanks to Rich for his quick and gracious reply, and to DJ for the defense. (And the Brig *is* coming…huzzah!)

Also wanted to add my vote to the many who have commented on how well Rich is capturing the “voices” of the Doctors in his dialogue and their expressions. I can close my eyes and imagine each of the actors in their roles. Masterful job! (Or should I say, “Doctorful!” ??)

116. Kat-Klingon

No apologies needed here cfhuber, I was just unclear in my posting. Rich can’t add just anyone now with the plot set, but he could still have plans to include THE Brig in before the story’s over, as he was a long time charctor in Classic Who. I’m learning to just enjoy the ride — and am about to start sitting on my hands until my brain quits not thinking.

117. JustAWanderer

It’s cool, cfhuber. I have a tendency to let little things get me bent out of shape. Most of the time, I’ve learned to keep my yap shut about it.

118. Child of Zion

Good idea, Chris. Is it Ok with you if I do it, too? With Rich’s permission, of course.
Hey, Rich. Would it be Ok with you if ~I~ wrote The Ten Doctors as a novel? Just for myself, you understand, not like, to market or anything.

And I’m not writing it without permission from both of you, just so you know. :D

119. A.leon

hmmm, I think this calls for a group hug.

120. Mitchell Craig

Just letting you know I’m waiting on the next page(s) of The Ten Doctors. And I’ll be checking out the forum to see what’s cooking there.

121. Seileach

Just wanted to say these continue to be fantastic!
P.S. Re: the Watcher & Four, it always seemed to me that Four was upset because he knew the Watcher’s presence meant that he was going to regenerate very soon and he didn’t want to go through it just yet (I know, I know, Time Lords are supposed to be used to it and accept it with no fuss, but a situation requiring his regeneration would mean that his companions would also probably be in great danger). And he did go talk to the Watcher on the bridge at one point (where we couldn’t hear), so he apparently did find out what the Watcher was there for, if he didn’t know already. YMMV.

122. Leeanne

Can someone please tell me what happened in the time wore. I rely don’t know what happened I always assumed that there was big bomb or sum thing like that. But Im just gessing.
P.S when can we talk about the forth sires because I have a lot questions.

123. Hilary

Leeanne: When it airs in the US. If you want to talk about it now, there’s a decently lively discussion going on with a lot of these fine folks here, in our forums. The comments are not intended for conversations of any length, anyway.

Chris and CoZ: I’m not Rich, but why not write your own versions if you want to write novels? Surely it would be much more exciting to do your own takes on the 10 Doctors rather than try and novelize a story someone else is already writing.

124. Leeanne

Thankyou Hilary

125. Chris

I must be so dum. Why didn’t I think of that. Thanks Hilary.
Ps. I may even make my own website to put it on.

126. Rich

Gecks:

Catpan Spade: They’re off to see some lizards! Some alien lizards and frogs.

Josh: You’re welcome… what did I do?

Gecks: Now you’re just being silly.

Hark: I never saw that. Sure the blond isn’t the REAL colour?

Chris: I can’t stop you from novelizing the comic, but if you’ve got your own story idea, that’d probably be better for you.

Anita: *Sits back to watch the DTs* Sorry, I’ll do some when I’ve got the time.

cfhuber: S’okay, man. Thank you so much!

Kat-Klingon & JustAWanderer: But it was sweet of you to come to my defense. Just they’re not all necessarily offensive. :D

Child of Zion: Same answer, CoZ. I can’t stop you. Hey, I’m doing the comic without permission. But wouldn’t you rather write your own story?

A.leon: Awww

Mitchell Craig: Don’t give up, they WILL show up.

Seileach: Thank you! I never suggested that the 4th Doctor didn’t know who he was. I just said he didn’t project the Watcher himself.

Leeanne: Nobody knows exactly what happend in the Last Great Time War. All we know is that a)There was a huge battle mainly between the Daleks and the Time Lords, b)lots of races were involved (but not the Sontarans!) and many got wiped out or nearly wiped out. c)The Time Lords resurrected the Master to help out and it didn’t go well. d)The Doctor is responsible for the end of the war that ended up in the destruction of Gallifrey, the Time Lords and the Daleks (supposedly), when it was all over the universe continued on and the people of Earth never noticed.

Chris: Give us a link when you do!

127. 494alex

Rich, is THIS why there’s been no 10 Doctors for a week? Because Gecks wants to see Elmo? You sir are a fool. A foolish fool. End rant. Still, it was funny, so i salute you!

128. Rich

Uh, no 494alex.
The reason there have been no 10 Doctors is because I’ve been busy.
I whipped Gecks’ little pic there up in a minute while waiting for my turn to take a shower in the morning, because it amused me to do so.

129. Dan_raven

Don’t fall for it Doctor. Elmo is really the Nth reincarnation of the Master.

130. Turnip

xD My heart bleeds with jubilation. Elmo would totally save the day.
I bet he could make the Master turn to the side of goodness by hugging him. Well, that or the Master would commit suicide on the spot. Actually, he’d probably just destroy Elmo, dust off his outfit and move onward…

131. Sean

HA! Oh, that made my day! Absolutely brilliant!

132. A.leon

*Bear hugs both Gecks and Rich*
You two have officially made my day.
Although now I can’t seem to stop the idea of random Muppets invading your story. I do so dearly love the Muppets. *lets go of Geck and Rich to bear hug Elmo*

133. Captain Shade

Which brings to mind Oscar’s garbage can…It’s bigger on the inside…Hmmmm.

134. JustAWanderer

It’s a little known fact that both Oscar’s garbage can and Snoopy’s doghouse are based on Gallifreyan technology. I kid you not.

135. Doctor-Who-Fan

ELMO

lol ;D ;D ;D

136. Gecks

Rolling about with great hillarity!, oh Rich, your worth more than your weight in gold!, Thank You so very much!!!!!!!! *bounces around with pure glee*

137. Gecks

A.leon, I’m glad my little whimsical and nonsensical idea, that Rich surprisingly followed through on, amused you so greatly, I myself am still sitting here with such a grin on my face, my cheeks are about to burst!…. Thank you again Rich, your a legend among legends

138. Arathos

Hello! I think, your comics are awesome! I’d be happy, if you’d let me to translate them to Russian and to post them in my LiveJournal. Perhaps, I can’t speak English correctly, but I know Russian) Waiting for your answer with a big hope.

139. Rich

Dan_raven: “Doctor you must die! Elmo say so! Elmo construct big overcomplicated trap to immobilize Doctor while Elmo gloat for too long! (insert tickle-me laugh!)”

Turnip: “You know, Doctor, this little orange fuzzy creature has shown me the light. I’m turning over a new leaf. From now on the TCE will only be used to make dehydrated food goods for planets in famine and toys for children.”

Sean: Hehehe, yay!

A.leon: Hehehehhe.. it was just one of those things that needed to be drawn.

Inspector Slade: He’s actually one of Davros’ early prototype Daleks. “You are YUCKY! EXTERMINATE!”

JustAWanderer: Snoopy and the Red Baron, two Time Lords duking it out for freedom or enslavement over the Earth.
Charlie Brown is Snoopy’s unsuspecting companion.

Doctor-Who-Fan: Heheheh, silly isn’t it?

Gecks: You’re welcome! Thanks for making me laugh enough to do it.

Arathos: I’d be happy to have you translate the comic. Just make sure I get writing/art credit and link to this page and have fun!

140. Chris

I wanna new page! Waaaaaaaaaaaa Waaaaaaaaaaaa (Babies cry continues)

141. Rich

You’re going to have to sit tight a little longer, I’m afraid gang.
We’re off on plane ride to visit family for a week and then we’ve got a houseguest for another week. I don’t know when I’ll have a chance to get back to “T10D” in that time. It’s possible, just… unlikely. Sorry.

142. Turnip

Have a nice trip, Rich. Having a real life isn’t something to be ashamed of, you know.

Also, somehow I don’t trust the Master making toys for children, even under the influence of Elmo. They’d probably be hypnotic teddy bears that would brain wash the children into building weapons…

143. Dr Nick R.

am i allowed to advertise? well this mite be advertising: Im doing a fan fiction site with a team, and you can send in fan fics to it, And gecks, if you want ill get one of my team on the site to write a Doctor and Elmo Fan fic! (Rich, if its ok it mite use ur pic of it) So if Gecks and Rich say yes, experience Elmos Adventure! and if this is a waste of time, rich delete the adverty parts of this post if u want. but still, does gecks want his idea a proper fan fic??

144. Rich

Thanks, Turnip!

Yes it is, Dr.Nick R. I planned this ages ago.

145. Dr Nick R.

well if gecks says yes ill do it, and ill add the pci when rich replies.

146. Mitchell Craig

Elmo and the Doctor – LOLLOLLOLetc.
Take care of your life; I’ll wait.
The Time Lords, for all their scientific wizardry, never were possessed of common sense. Resurrecting the Master as a Time War recruit was destined to end in tears.

147. Arathos

149. Darren

@ Dr Nick R: Hi Dr Nick. Watch out with the season 4 spoilers! I don’t think that this has been broadcast in the US yet!

@ Rich: Enjoy your holiday!

150. Captain Shade

It’s been broadcast here. So there should be no worries about talking about it. And a big “HAVE FUN!!!” to the whole Morris clan.

151. wulfae

Well, season 4 hasn’t been broadcast in Canada yet, so it’d still be apropriate to avoid spoilers. I do think, however, most whovian canadians who wanted to avoid spoilers just watched them as they came out in other places. It’s unfortunate that hockey interfered with Doctor Who, especially when my team didn’t make the playoffs. (single tear)

Enjoy your trip, Rich and Hilary! Hopefully it is at least slightly restful.

152. MattE

Only found this comic a few days ago. Am absolutely loving it… can’t wait to what all this projection business is about!

Btw, THANK YOU for explaining the Doc’s anomalous age! Was really bugging me and it never occurred to me he might just be lying (out of embarrassment?) in the ‘New Series’ ;-)

Keep Up The Good Work!!!!

153. Rich

Hahahah, you’re welcome!
And thank you!

154. dragon64

*munches on virtual cookie* Thanks WingedSerpent.
*sees Elmo* *dies briefly from pure discordancy*
Dangit, he stole all Two’s thunder. X( …You’re comic genius Rich. :)
Still terribly excited to see the Doctor’s projection. The more Doctors the better. :D

155. dragon64

Okay, that’s wierd. I could have sworn I was an orange diamond… *goes back to check* That one’s changed too. Aww… I liked the orange diamond. X( Ah, well, poor avatar. *offers sick little avatar tea*

156. Connor

LoL at Elmo,
I sooo want to know what 2 means by projecting another self and what the hell happened to 4 and the peeps off to/in the rani’s TARDIS,
also its good news for me that there will be not a lot of 10 Doc’s for a couple of weeks as im going on holiday for a 2 weeks to scotland and won’t have an internet connection so i won’t have much to catch up on.

157. Doctor-Who-Fan

Ya it is Rich

158. Lila Kooks

Elmo is evil. EVIL! Don’t let his cute voice and childlike behavior fool you. I’d like to see that fan fiction site that Dr. Nick R. is doing….

159. 494alex

No Series 4 spoilers eh? I’ll show you… ***** ****** the ****** because she *** *** ****** *****. Also, ****** is ** *** ******, and his ***** was ******* so now he has to **** sideways.

160. 494alex

Damn it, I couldn’t bring myself to spoil it for everyone outside of Britain, so I censored everything important. Happy?

161. Chris

Have a good trip Rich. My website has been launched. No story bits on it yet but the website has been made. It is a blog website http://www.thetendoctors.blogspot.com/

162. Mreen

Love the Elmo pic! I’ll have to pass it on to an Elmo fanatic or two I know out there.. (’course, if it had been me, I’d have wanted it to be SuperGrover to the rescue! :) )

Hope you enjoy your family time/guest, and that we hear from you soon!

163. Kori

What, what? To reitterate what everyone else has said- project another self? I can honestly say I don’t remember that from any of the episode’s I’ve watched. New or old.
So, is it gonna be an alternate doctor or a simple watcher? The anticipation is mounting!
I love your Doctor number one. Strictly speaking, I haven’t seen alot of his episodes, but you have him spot on, and your giving the old man his due. :D
Another awesome update.

164. Lizzie24601

Just read through this entire thing. Great fun! Especially love your representations of the various facial expressions of Tom Baker.

165. Chris

Don’t Project Another You it could be the Valeyard… Kind Of Evil Version Of The Doctor… I THINK

167. jet

cool comic rich keep it up!

168. Dr. Bunsen

To digress, my favourite line of the whole adventure so far is:

“…and I’m not making tea for the old coot this time” :)

169. Mreen

Ah but Jim, that evil version is already walking about, he’s the one that shoved the Doctor (Hartnel) into the tardis heading toward the sun. Projections from the Doctor are usually short term versions -astral versions that are temporarily solid- they tend to grumble at companions but be exeedingly polite to it’s projecting Doctor, who is exceedingly polite back (if he planned it to happen)-sort of the opposite of different regenerations of the Doctor that are always pleased to see their companions again, but annoyed with themselves (other selves) for not being as perfect as the regeneration they are now.

170. Chris

Please visit http://www.thetendoctors.blogspot.com to see the first part of my story. Please visit

171. Jim

Mreen: Eh, You Right… lets just hope this one Is Nice Because there Are loads of evil poeple in the Unbiverse Lest Get Someone Not Evil Helping… In Other words
Doctor Throw Glitz Out Of The Tardis

172. Jim

Does anyone else think that the First Doctor looks a little bit like Colonel Klink with the monocle? I keep expecting him to telepathically contact “Hooo-gan!”

173. Hilary

Chris: Enough. One post of your link is informative, two is annoying. Three will become spam, and will earn you a timeout. If you want to advertise on this site, you can buy an ad through Project Wonderful like all our other advertisers.

174. The Kyle

When The Next Comic?

175. The Kyle

It’s Been On Page 119 For Ever!!!!

176. Child of Zion

Rich :“Child of Zion: Same answer, CoZ. I can’t stop you. Hey, I’m doing the comic without permission. But wouldn’t you rather write your own story?”

Actually…yes. But I can’t write stories. Good ones, anyway. I’ve got at least five sitting around and they all suck and I’ve got no idea where to take them. Actually, I’m kinda hoping that novilizing some body else’s story will unblock me. Give me structure, and at the same time allow some creativeness, too.

Or is that a bad idea? Seriously, I have no clue how to go about un-blocking myself and would appreciate some pointers.

End pathetic rant.

177. Child of Zion

Question: “Unlock the TARDIS” I’m afraid I don’t understand. Unlocking it is good, yes? Unlocking will enable it to move, right? Or does he mean unlock the door and suck them out, or something?

178. Lila Kooks

Child of Zion: Why not check out fanfic sites for potential writers? I’d find some good writers on there..some not, some are better than good…

179. Kat-Klingon

The Kyle,

If Rich is on Holiday we must wait for his return – I think I missed something so am not sure he is. If he’s not give him another week. Before the past few months of spurts of three or so pages every once in a while, he posted a new page(s) about every two weeks, I noticed, he may have had to slow down to a slower schedual.

180. Dr Nick R.

@rich. does that mean i can do the elmo story! woop! ill get toad to start writing,

181. Mitchell Craig

Just sorted it out – 4’s off taking his annual nap. So he should be back once he’s nice and refreshed.

182. Dan_raven

4 taking an extended nap….Rich on vacation…4 is Rich’s favorite doctor… and you never see the two of them together at the same time. Hmmmmmm.

183. Child of Zion

Ohhh….Smart, Dan Raven, smart. So. One of you go to Rich’s house and keep watch. Then I will dress up in spray-painted bubble wrap, pool noodles, and and wires; make a really cool gun-thing with sound effects, and start “killing” people. As soon as we see “4″ leaving Rich’s house, we know for sure. ;) :D

184. Chris

Child of Zion: Whoa, slow down! Did u say say you were going to kill Rich & 4. They are the two greatest people in the cosmos.

185. Child of Zion

No, no, no, silly. I said that I would start “killing” people. Like, use my special-effects gun on you folks and you “die” with terrible screams, drawing “4″ out of hiding.

186. Underline Chris

Aarg. Too many Chrises! I’ve changed my name.

187. Os

Sadness is: Managing to vacation in the one corner of the US without a reliable internet connection. Happiness is: Returning from said vacation to the 1980s to find several strips’ worth of The 10 Doctors — including lots of Five and One — now posted. Three cheers for Rich!

188. Dan_raven

C-O-Z. Wouldn’t it be easier to check for Scarf-marks on the surrounding area?
We could examine the ground for K-9 tracks? Maybe even see if any mysterious blue boxes are parked in his garage?
Rich is the Doctor. I do believe it is so.

189. DJ

Rich is the Doctor, eh? Already written. Go to:

http://bluetardis.wordpress.com/2008/06/10/once-upon-a-future-time/

190. Ciega

Linked to this two days ago, read it all as quickly as possible, and I’m impressed. I haven’t seen much of the original series, but this has convinced me that I need to.
As for “unlocking the TARDIS”, I thought it might have something to do with what happened to Rose at the end of the first season of the new series… there’s something powerful inside the TARDISes… but that’s really just a guess.

191. Dr. Bunsen

“unlocking the TARDIS” and “resetting the TARDIS” are the same thing here, I think.

192. Leeanne

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
“Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can’t explain
Once you know there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People could not believe what I’d become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter won’t call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

Hear Jerusalem bells are ringings
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

This is the song that my sistere thinks might be for the Master
Ps in the US what epsod are you up to.

193. Richie

hey dude, keep up the awesome work, cant wait to see what happens next!

Speculation: if the fourth doctor projected the watcher (a version of his fifth self) and K’Anpo Rompoche projected a verion of his next incarnation, does that mean two will project another three?

p.s. still really chuffed Nyssa blew up the master! That was FANTASTIC!

194. Tangerine

Brilliant work, classic 1st Doctor, you’ve really captured his essence in those few panels.

195. Gavial

Hello.

Just wanted to say that I found this blog this week, reading yafgc since earlier. Great work. Oh and to all doctor Who fans out there, I have not seen a single episode of doctor Who, never read a book. This is the first time I read something concerning them, but I get it most of the time anyways. Good work Rich.

Btw, I have seen 2 minutes of the start of an episode.

196. Mr.Anderson

All of you people who haven’t seen much of the old Doctor Who show will now be able to do so. Saturday August 23rd through Monday August 25th, the Sci-Fi channel is going to be showing some serials of the old Doctor Who show, and (unfortunately) the rather controversial 8th Doctor movie. You find the times of viewing at http://www.scifi.co.uk/whats-on/listings/?search=Doctor+Who. Here’s a list of the serials being shown:

Saturday 23rd August
The Ark in Space (4th Doctor)
Revenge of the Cybermen (4th Doctor)
Pyramids of Mars (4th Doctor)
Face of Evil (4th Doctor)

Sunday 24th August
Logopolis (4th Doctor)
Earthshock (5th Doctor)
Warriors of the Deep (5th Doctor)
The Two Doctors (6th and 2nd Doctors)

Monday 25th August
Doctor Who: The Movie (8th Doctor, with a bit of 7th Doctor)
Caves of Androzani (5th Doctor)

197. Mr.Anderson

Sorry. I was wrong. It’s for the UK. Sorry. My bad,

198. DJ

Please note re: above posting by Mr Anderson. American fans will not get to watch those Dr Who episodes. The American scifi channel will be showing crappy horror movies all weekend, as usual. Either the BBC is keeping a tight rein on the older episodes or the American scifi channel doesn’t believe it’s worth showing.

199. Child of Zion

Dan_raven
“C-O-Z. Wouldn’t it be easier to check for Scarf-marks on the surrounding area?
We could examine the ground for K-9 tracks? Maybe even see if any mysterious blue boxes are parked in his garage?
Rich is the Doctor. I do believe it is so.”

Tch. Yea, but it would be a lot less fun to DO. Tell you what, you can use the gun. ;)

Leeanne: Oooohhhh! Whozat song by? It’s pretty…
Gavial : Welcome to the fold.
Mr.Anderson : That wooshing noise? My heart soaring.
That crumpling, glass-breaking noise? My heart falling apart at your next comment. ;(

Sorry for commenting on comments. It’s fun. :D

200. Dan_raven

Child: “You can hold the gun.”

While that is an appealing offer, I have a theory from my limited viewings of the early doctors. Good or bad, whoever points a gun at the Doctor ends up dead by the end of the story. (I know of one exception–but he ended up worse–marrying Tayla).

201. Saph

Wonderful as always Rich. I really liked your depiction of Hartnell!

Mr Anderson – thanks for the heads up! Beats waking up at silly o’clock to watch the older series on UK Drama! I still will though! *blush*

Love to you all,

Saph
xxx

202. Mr.Anderson

For the record, I’m American. U.S of A.

203. Teri Dragon

YAY!! I get distracted for a while, remember this comic, and find what? 12 NEW PAGES?!?!? *faints* LOVE YOU!! Hope to see what happened to four soon! And five finding out what happened to the master is definitly something to look forward to!

204. Child of Zion

“Child: “You can hold the gun.”

It’s not a _real_ gun! *pouts* *sighs* You’re right, though. Hmmm…Oh! I gots it! We offer him Jelly Babies if he tells. :D

205. Leeanne

Child of Zion: Viva la vita by Cold Play

206. Leeanne

Why douse my picter chang on my home coputer it is sum ting difrent

207. wulfae

The gravatar is dependant on your email address. Make sure they’re the same between both computers, and it’ll stay the same.

208. Sten Darker

This is a truely well written and well drawn comic! Absolutely Who-worthy! I’m sure RTD would want to be watching this right now!!! A friend showed me this on the Doctor Who forum after I showed him the (get this) Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi! (lol! but its still pretty cool if you’ve watched the shows)

Have you ever been interested in writting Audio stuff??

209. Zack

Doctor… Why Not Just Use the Sonic Screwdriver… (Does he Have that Yet)

210. Chris

Zack: No, the sonic screwdriver was built by the second doctor and modified through the third doctor’s era and fourth doctor’s in which he used it alot more. It was destroyed by the terileptils during the fifth doctor’s era and did not return until the tv movie with the seventh doctor and then was the same design as the fourth’s. It was completely redesigned by the ninth doctor and by the time of the tenth doctor it had an extending section.

211. Jim

A little off topic, but I thought you guys might like this. Someone made a mock poster for the next Batman movie, with David Tennant as the Riddler. It looks quite cool.

http://joshwmc.deviantart.com/art/Batman-3-Poster-Riddler-92795570

212. Rhawk187

I just found this comic, and I read all 119 pages tonight, it’s awesome, great work!

213. Mreen

Jim- surely it would have been more appropriate for him to play Temple Fugate, the Clock King?
Same costume will work.
(Mind you, if he’s the Riddler, the costume needs one thing. Question marks! :D )

214. Jim

Mreen – the question marks are on his tie. They’re just very faint.

It’s the same style from the Batman Animated Series. Riddler only had one question mark on his tie (I guess they didn’t go overboard with them to avoid comparisons to the 60s series.)

215. Mreen

I’ll have to take your word for it.. they are too faint to be seen for me. I even tried saving the picture and blowing it up on screen- at the point where it gets into fuzzy pixels all I got was a Y shape being repeated instead of question marks.

Rhawk187- Glad you got to read it all at once so far – welcome to the cliffhanger waiting zone! :)

216. JustAWanderer

It kind of looks like a cross between a Y and a question mark.
Of course, I’ve only got a little bit of experience with Batman, but I think I agree with Mreen: He looks more like Clock King.

217. Rich

Sten Darker and Rhawk187: Welcome and thank you very much! There’s more to come, promise, but RL often throws me variable schedules and with a little one to look after, I have to make her my priority. Fun comics I draw for free fall down the ladder that way. Stay tuned, though… it’s coming! I promise!

Jim: Clothing patterns are often simplified in animation to cut down on problems in animation. Each ? would have to be drawn seperately (the Batman cartoon was still done classic style with 12 drawings a second more or less) and it makes it very difficult to match up all the individual points.

218. Ghosteh

YAY! I think I has gotten another DW fan on this comic. ^_^

219. Sten Darker

wow… you actually acknowlaged my meeningless comment. … Waaay to few of you internet populars do that anymore!! So awesome!! Thank you Rich! :D

I have just recomended you to this person
http://mimi-na.deviantart.com/art/Doctor-s-Girls-Wallpaper-58513223

as I am now recomending you the vice-versa. you’d get along great, I think!

220. Kat-Klingon

That DT mock poster is well done, I think the Y look is because of the folds in the tie – it is cloth. If it could be flat, the ?s would be more obvious. I know you have nothing to do with that mock poster Rich, but I like to note a fellow artist’s work when it’s good. Yeah, you’re back, we will find out the next twist in this story very soon now.

221. Rich

Ghosteh: Yay indeed!

Sten Darker: Aw Sten. I’m just a guy like you. (rereads your posts) That is… assuming you’re a guy. If not, then I’m just a person like you. It is tough to keep up with ALL the comments that come in, I’ve missed replying to a WHOLE BUNCH but I do read as many as I can and reply to as many as I have time for. Which I don’t have a whole lot of. Does that make sense?
Actually I missed a question of yours which I’ll answer now.
I have not actually considered writing for the audio adventures. Wouldn’t know how to get into that whole industry anyway. I don’t consider myself a writer at all. I’m a cartoonist. I’m flattered that you feel that way, though, thank you! :D
I’ve seen mimi-na’s stuff before, she’s excellent, thank you. I’ve put her on my ‘watch list’ on DA (my account is “Gorpo” if you want to see my stuff there).

Kat-Klingon: I hope I’ll get a chance to draw the next page. I started it, but it was coming out all crappy. So I have to start again. :( Must find and motivate my muse..

222. George

Mm. Apparently, Woody Allen denies that his muse is Scarlett Johansson. So she might be free to be yours!

223. Child of Zion

That’s Ok, Rich. All we ask is that your muse is found, safe, happy, and motivated soon.

224. Dr Nick R.

so can i do it rich and geck

225. Mreen

*offers Rich’s muse a bribe of chocolate chip cookies to help with the next page*

226. Child of Zion

*Smiles in approval of Mreen’s care package and starts baking brownies*

227. Ursula

>” I hope I’ll get a chance to draw the next page. I started it, but it was coming out all crappy”

You HOPE you’re get a chance?! Please don’t scare us like that. We’ve all got our fingers crossed this is a matter of when, not if.

I bet you’re just being too hard on yourself. You haven’t done a crappy page yet. Even if you do one page that’s a little off, maybe it’ll get you back in the groove. I don’t think anybody here would say, “Well, that page kinda sucked… I’m giving up on this strip!”

228. Captain Shade

I’m sure Hilary appreciates the offer of cookies.

229. Kat-Klingon

Actually Rich, I suspect very few would disagree this comic has more consistant ‘Production values’ then Classic Who! You’ll get it done and we will wait.

230. Sten Darker

I AM a guy!! an NOT gay!!! just in case yer wandering. lol!

well, actually the audio thing was more of an advertisement on my part. I am the co-host of an up and co…. soon to be up and coming audio media group called Carver Creations! link! carvercreationsmedia.ning.com and we could use a writter like you fer storylines… that, and we’re desperate fer staff.

I will check out yer DA. (ever heard of bleedman?)

and yes.. that makes perfect sense.

I hope that someday, I too can be swamed by comments. lol!

231. Vanora

Hey Rich, this is an awsome comic. I’m hooked, I’ve just read all 119 pages in one sitting. I love your cliffhangers, a true classic who ‘big scream before closing credits/closeup of terrified face’ style.
keep up the good work….please please please.

232. Chris

Rich, you are brilliant. The BBC should make an animated series of this with all the dr who cast members. Dunno who could be the voices of dr’s 1, 2 & 3.

233. jet

great comic but it’s been here a while…
(no offence!!!!)

234. Rich

George: Don’t know if that would help matters, but thanks! :D

Child of Zion: Me too! Thanks.

Dr.Nick R.: Go ahead, Dr.Nick. Write away!

Mreen/Child of ZIon: *hopes the cookies and brownies make it to the muse before we consume them all*

Ursula: Ah, yeah, sorry about that, hehehe… I meant that I hope I’ll get a chance SOON. I WILL do it. When is the only issue.
As for crappy pages, you have no idea how many I’ve drawn that didn’t make it to the site. I could make a seperate binder of ‘pages that didn’t make it’.
And a lot of the ones that DID make it make me cringe, but we’re always our own harshest critics. Otherwise we’d never improve.

Paptest Grade: What, you think I don’t like cookies? OH… you mean that she’s my muse. Yes. That is true.

Kat-Klingon: Aw g’wan. In context it’s okay. I’d love to see it drawn better. I’m working on it. Thanks very much!

Sten Darker: Thanks, I’ll be sure to use male pronouns for you now.
That’s interesting, and a very kind offer. But I don’t have a lot of time for side projects. I’ve got too many on the go as it is. Keep me posted though. I’m interested in seeing/hearing what you do.
I haven’t heard of bleedman, no. Sounds gory. Do tell!
The comment swarming is very flattering and nice, but I feel terrible when I can’t answer them all.

Vanora: Will do, promise promise promise! And thanks!

Chris: That’s a topic that’s come up before, if you ever feel like browsing through the comments of the previous pages you’ll find a bunch of actor suggestions. Or better yet, open a new thread on the forum. If the BBC ever offer me a contract to create the animated 10 Doctors, l’m ON it. :D

jet: Yeah, sorry. Been busy. Hang in there, I’ll update soon!

235. jayster

I never really got an opitunity to say this but… I love your 10 Doctor and Paulus comics! Keep it up! Can you tell what’s happening to all the companions, enemies and doctors right now in this comic, I keep forgetting whats happening!

236. Child of Zion

Rich:
“Mreen/Child of ZIon: *hopes the cookies and brownies make it to the muse before we consume them all*”

Heh…a valid worry, as I am a Sugary Goodies Fiend. ;)

237. Rich

Jayster:
Let’s see….

The 1st Doctor has just delayed his plummet into the exploding star of Proammon and contacted the 2nd Doctor with orders to assist.

The 2nd Doctor has just recieved the word and, trapped in space in a ’stuck’ TARDIS, is about to project another Doctor to help him escape and go help the 1st. Sabalom Glitz is with him.

The 3rd Doctor is a prisoner of the Master-augmented-Sontarans and The War Chief on the Federation flagship, having just planted the seed of doubt into the War Chief.

The 4th Doctor was last seen in an exploding duct in the Black Dalek flag ship.

The 5th Doctor is falling to Earth in a disabled Federation fighter and Nyssa and Mel are trying to help him in a Terminus shuttle, after having destroyed the Master…supposedly.

The 6th Doctor is fighting it out with Maxil on the Black Dalek flag ship which is under attack by Sontarans.

The 7th Doctor and the Rani are on board Davros’ ship trying to keep him from finishing repairs.

The 8th Doctor has just snuck back into the Panopticon with Leela and the original K9 on Gallifrey, leaving Cho’je Rimpoche in his hermit cave in the outlands.

The 9th Doctor, K9 II and Drax just rescued Tegan, Peri, Ace and Rose from the Cybermen, who incidently have also released cyber-controlled Silurians into the complex to distract Davros’ white Daleks (who are trying to clear the airspace to allow more Daleks to transmat down to help them.)

The 10th Doctor, rescued from Maxil previously by the Meddling Monk, has been captured by the Valeyard posing as the Keeper of the Matrix, who seems to be behind all this.

Susan, Zoe, Jo and Turlough snuck off in the underground complex to try to steal the Rani’s TARDIS.

Jamie, Sarah Jane, K9 IV, Romana II, Captain Jack and Grace have joined UNIT lead by Brigadier Winnifred Bambara who are fighting the Cybermen with a Glitter Gun.

Meanwhile Omega watches the whole affair impatiently, unsure whether or not he trusts the Celestial Toymaker who seems to be in control of things.

I believe that’s all so far.

Child of Zion: Yummy.

238. Child of Zion

Rich:
“The 9th Doctor, K9 II and Drax just rescued Tegan, Peri, Ace and Rose from the Cybermen, who incidently have also released cyber-controlled Silurians into the complex to distract Davros’ white Daleks (who are trying to clear the airspace to allow more Daleks to transmat down to help them.)”

Ummm…did I miss something? Whattsa Silurian? What page? Gar…

239. Captain Shade

He ment Sontarans

240. Sarah

They are Silurians, according to Page 93.

241. Captain Shade

Oops…Was still thinking 3rd Doctor. My bad.

242. Sten Darker

shweeeet.

243. Jayster

Thanks Rich! Now I’m all up-to-date! I’m really sorry, but every new 50-or-so pages can you tell us whats going on at the first comment (if you know what I mean- if you don’t get it, ignore me!)? You don’t have to, I just want to know whats going on, sorry Rich…

244. JustAWanderer

Rich, my brain nearly imploded reading your summary of all the plot threads! How do you keep track of everything?
Child of Zion, the Silurians were intelligent, telekinetic reptiles from Earth. The 3rd and 5th Doctors faced off against them at different times. The Doctor Who wiki has a page on them (tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Silurian).

245. Mreen

JustAWanderer- if the writer can’t keep track of all the lead characters biggest problems … well, he’d be working for Smallville :D

246. Rassilon

“I didn’t intentionally try to to make the 2nd Doctor resemble the 7th. But in my mind they’re very similar, so they may start to blend in my artwork.”

Prior art – There’s the DWM story Happy Deathday were the Third is paired with the Fifth & later on has the Fifth whispering to Second refering to the Seventh “How does he get in face to go into shadow like that”, it would seem from the Seconds shadow over his eye, that the Second still hasn’t quite mastered (sorry) that particular attribute.

247. Z

Small probolem here – why didn’t the first and tenth doctors simply stay in a tardis. Then, if something went wrong, the tenth would remember it, and could then tell the first to notr do do whatever it was when he does it in that regenerstion, just like in time crash?

248. Child of Zion

@Z:

Two reasons:

1) Paradox. If 10 remembers so that a previous regeneration prevents it from happening, how will 10 remember?

2) Flux. Nobody knows what it is, but I think it means unstability. So like, if 5 really does die, 10 maybe won’t die straightaway because their timelines are all tangles with the other Doctors’ timelines.

249. Ghosteh

o_o Last night, I had a dream about there being another page… and when I came, thinking it might be true… IT WASN’T!

Oh well. :P

250. Kat-Klingon

I’ve always taken ‘Flux’ – in the WHO scense – to be an abreviation of Fluctuation. Meaning not set, or in motion. In other words Flux means time is fluid, nothing is set at that point – not even history – and anything can happen.

251. Eocene4ever

Wow, I only just discovered your amazing comic! I’m a long time Who fan (since the late ’70s!) and am LOVING this! One thing you mentioned way back… you had trouble drawing Susan? Her face should be more pixy-ish. Make her eyes a bit like the way you draw the 6th Doctor’s (but less angry, lol). Wow, I just have to say, I’m sad that Craig Hinton is no longer with us to read this story. I think he’d have adored it and given you completely brilliant, utterly mad suggestions for even more fun with continuity. Eagerly anticipating the next “episode”!

252. Anita

I have officially gone into a coma waiting for the new comic. Someone is going to have to rescue me with some Jelly Babies and a very long scarf. Someone with curly hair and lots of teeth and a nice hat.

Ohhhh, it’s gonna be a looooooong sleep…..

a.

253. James

Meh… needs 7th Dr….

254. Captain Shade

No! More Nyssa. It’s been a whole page since she’s gotten any “screen time”! 1 Whole page!

255. Mindscape

NOOO! Need more Dr. Who! I’ve run out of pages to read!

256. Sten Darker

to Mreen. lol! that is a quote I gotta remember! It’d probobly get my head torn off with my shipmates in UCIP though. :D

257. Kat-Klingon

James,
I like your style, but those who like Seven have seen Seven since Four’s ‘incident.’ I think it fair the Four crowd gets some relief quickly.

258. 494alex

Teeth and curls? Anywhere? No? Damn.

259. 494alex

Though I’m also a 1, 7 and 10 fan as well as 4. Good things come every three times.

260. Olly

Maybe the projection will bring back Four?

261. Sten Darker

Maybe he’s just going to project a psychic watcher, remote controlled by 2, projected through 1. there we go. simple. right?

262. Sten Darker

AND MAYBE, that Watcher, will bring back 4. I guess. :)

263. Zack

Sten Darker: i to would like to see 4 (Please don’t be dead)

264. latture

could #4 regenerate to an alternate #5 without the universe going all wonky? (I hate it when my universe goes wonky)

265. carol

Rich, methinks we need an up-date! :P As for #4, maybe someone picked him up and he’s being held captive somewhere.

266. Mitchell Craig

C’mon, Rich! Get this strip on the hump; you’ve got some flyin’ to do!

267. Dan_raven

Rich = Dr. # 4.

As he is too busy to add cartoons its because Dr. #4 is too busy saving everyone else.

When he gets done he’ll have time to write out all that he did.

When he says that real life is getting in the way, that means Reality and Life as We Know It must be saved first.

So please, give Rich some time to save the space/time continuum, and maybe take a jelly-baby break, and he’ll get back to our amusements soon.

268. Z

Thanks for that Zion, I love repetetive paradoxis, there great fun to annoy people with, and most people i tell them to don’t have my fantastic mental capacity that is needed to understand them! (And yes, i am worringly like the sixth doctor)

Ten tells One not to do something. One (as a later regeneration) dosen’t do it. Ten no longer remembers. He dosen’t tell One. One (as a later regeneration) dose do it. Ten remembers. Ten tells One not to do something. One (as a later regeneration) dosen’t do it. Ten no longer remembers. He dosen’t tell One. One (as a later regeneration) dose do it. Ten remembers. Ten tells One not to do something. One (as a later regeneration) dosen’t do it. Ten no longer remembers. He dosen’t tell One. One (as a later regeneration) dose do it. Ten remembers.Ten tells One not to do something. One (as a later regeneration) dosen’t do it. Ten no longer remembers. He dosen’t tell One. One (as a later regeneration) dose do it. Ten remembers. Repeat ad neasium.

269. Mreen

I think we havent seen 4 yet because he’s still unconcious *sniff*

I wonder where the daleks stuffed his body? With the spare parts? Broken equipment? Taken to a lab for examination after the burial? Left amid the rubble till it’s time to repair that part of his ship?

Anyhow, with the timeywhimey effect, 10 would remember both pasts, but One tended to expect the others to listen to him, rather than the other way around.

270. Sten Darker

Z, 2 problems with that :)
1.) the warned 10 WOULD remember to warn one again, for that very reason.

2.) wibbily wobbily, timey, wimey! :P the universe simply ignores the change and one goes off becoming an alternate universe… perhaps.

This is my hypothesis on 5 Doctors.
Docs one through 3 are all removed from time. altering established events in 5s personal history.
They all meet at the one location.

The first Doctor is taken and has past to connect with.
The Second Doctor is taken and is connected to the first.
The third doctor is connected with both the second and first doctor.
the 5th remains stationary, and loses his connection to his past selves. Once five gets to the death zone, this connection is reastablished.

Now, even though they are connected, all events occuring to each regeneration did not happen to the regeneration in front of him. Meening that each one still has a one and up to their number in their past that has not and will not until their him, experiance this event.

in the end, when they leave, the connection is broken. The Doctors will go forth in their own adventures with that one memory making the change. except the first Doctor, who had no predesessor, gets the least of the parodox, and perhaps, for the remainder of his life, gets to remember. The fifth, having the most paradox, but as the current Doctor in the flow of the universe, gets to stay in the same timeline.

Perhaps, the fifths paradoxes, caused him to be so “unstable” during his 6tht regeneration.

the point of this is, that no change would be made. 1 would either go strait into an alternate universe, or the events from his point of view would simply by buffered out of history.

This made alot more sence in the 5 seconds before I tried to type it down. and it was alot more stable… but… i lost it.

anyways, that’s probobly whats happening here, except, lucky for 10, the other regenrations were brought to him. no ties were ever broken.
however, if 4 DID die, then perhaps an alternate universe has been created without a 5th or up doctor! chaos! Deleks! … Oh crap, and a slitheen parking lot!!!

271. Mark

Looks like a new power supply for Rich’s computer is proving harder to come by than was previously thought :(

272. Rich

No, it’s up and running, Mark.
I just have been too busy with other things to do a new page. Sorry, I’ll get to it when I can.

273. Dr Nick R.

RICH! Dos ur site do links? u linked the Char Index, so when we finish chapter one of the elmo story, can u link. plz delete this if its advertising,

274. Hilary

Dr Nick: We linked to the character index because it’s a resource based on this site. We do not link to fanfiction, because then we would have more links out than links in. :D If you would like to advertise your website on this one, please go through the Project Wonderful ad banners, above.

275. Laesin

Hate to ask as I know you have other things on your plate, but any news on page 120?

276. ParanoidObsessive

“Woah! You read that whole thing in a single sitting. You people are crazy. Y’know, the longer this thing gets the more impressive that claim becomes.”

Hah, you posted that 7 strips and a month and a half ago, and here I am doing the exact same thing after finding a link to this comic on TV Tropes. Of course, the REAL problem with a massive archive binge like that is that you eventually hit the end of the line and have to wait for the next installment like everyone else! ~shakes fist~

Seriously, though, I consider this strip to be brilliant. IMO, it’s better than like 98% of the non-TV adventures (novels, audio, etc). It’s like the Seven Doctors fanfic I always wanted to write as a kid but lacked the skill to do properly, the attention span to ever get past the first page, or DVD collection/Internet required for tons of research. Of course, I have two out of those three things now, but I’d much rather read your version. It really does seem to capture not just the spirit of all the characters, but also the spirit of the show itself – something a lot of the spin-off media completely misses.

Bravo – and I’d share the suggestion others have brought up that you should consider if the BBC might be interested in publishing this thing once you’ve finished…

277. MattE

“…the REAL problem with a massive archive binge like that is that you eventually hit the end of the line and have to wait for the next installment like everyone else!…

You read my mind :-)
This whole thing is the best Doctor Who fanfic ever (and better than most of the offical stuff). ~Salutes Screen, Single Tear On Cheek~

278. LoneWolf

I love this entire comic! Wonderful! And the plot is really well worked out! (Yes we know Gallifrey is gone and the Time War is locked, but let’s dream a bit outside canon).
“Projection” perhaps might mean the same as W.Hartnell did on “The Three Doctors”. Doctors 2 and 3 were actually together, but the first one was sent later and there was not enough energy to send him completely, but a projection of him on the Tardis’ screen instead. Anyway it was enough to talk the other 2 into working together, as Hartnell was a good leader and he didn’t let his mind wander as easily as 2 and 3.

279. MattE

“…Yes we know Gallifrey is gone and the Time War is locked, but let’s dream a bit outside canon…”

# ‘Anything Dalek Caan can do, the Doc can do better…’ #

280. Lucread

Yeah… if Dalek Caan can do it… the Doctor will find a way… likely at the end of his 13th life… then we’ll get a time break and the adventures of the Shalka Doctor will begin… an all new life for the Doctor, from 9-13… after all… it would be the only way to continue the series after the 13th actor’s run is up.

281. Captain Shade

Either that, or the 5th Doctor wakes up, realizing it was all a bad dream. And has Tegan make him some strong tea.

282. ParanoidObsessive

“after all… it would be the only way to continue the series after the 13th actor’s run is up.”

Not necessarily. After all, the Master’s already had something like 27 lives by this point, and it’s already been implied in the series that the Time Lords possessed the means to give a Time Lord an entirely new set of regenerations. Sure, they’re gone now, but that doesn’t mean alternate means of doing so don’t exist – which the Doctor could even accidentally stumble across at some point. Or maybe the White Guardian shows up and resets the Doctor’s odometer as “payment for services rendered”.

And of course, there’s good ol’ Rassilon and *shifts into overacting voice* IM-MOR-TAL-ITY. PER-PET-UAL RE-GEN-ER-ATION. We have no clue how Rassilon pulled it off, or why he was the only Time Lord who ever did (the others going to him to beg for it rather than figuring out how HE did it in the first place). So it’s entirely possible the Doctor could always have an accident with an irrational particle accelerator, a liquid lunch, and a pair of rubber bands and wind up with an infinite number of new regenerations.

283. Other Chris

“So it’s entirely possible…”
I kinda like that analogy!

I’m actualy sorta looking forward to that storyline. It’ll be interesting to watch, though I’d probably be like…in my fifties when it happens. It might be fun without RTD mucking it up like he did Journey’s End. Although, have you ever considered that the producers might actually be going to the thirteenth body as a determined ending to the show? They might do a humongous final episode with, like, everyvillain and companion and Doctor blowing over with a fantastic BLAZE OF GLORY!!! THAT would be an ending worthy of the big blue box.

284. MattE

“…the Doctor could always have an accident with an irrational particle accelerator, a liquid lunch, and a pair of rubber bands and wind up with an infinite number of new regenerations…”

But would he end up using the TARDIS to insult everyone in the universe? ;-)

285. Dan_raven

Have you ever considered that none of the known Dr. regenerations have been female. Would we ever accept a female Doctor?

286. DJ

Other Chris,

Only in fan fiction would that be the Dr’s ending. IRL (in real life!), the Doctor,
like Sherlock Holmes, Mr Spock, Superman, Batman, Jason & Freddy, will be essentially immortal. Archetypal characters never die. (It’s a conspiracy between fans and TPTB–The Powers That Be–in this case the BBC). It remains to be seen how the BBC producers/writers will wiggle their way beyond the 12th regeneration.
Heroes and villains are a permanent part of the human psyche. I have no doubt that in those 24th century holosuites–the director who hired you to perform in his play is William Shakespeare, you’re on a sailing vessel and the ship’s captain is named Odysseus or William Bligh or Hook, you’re fighting against the Orc army at Helm’s Deep, or–do remember to duck Darth Vader’s light saber. It would be a shame to lose your hand or some other part of your anatomy. And never hesitate to make that phone call, should you ever see a bright blue police box.

287. Captain Chaotica

Yeah, but…then wouldn’t he have to go all around the universe, insulting everyone in alphabetical order? ;)

27 lives for the Master? I take it that’s from part of the series I have yet to see…I know that he was on his 13th and dying by the time he…appropriated Tremas’s body in “The Keeper of Traken”, so Ainley’s Master would be Body 14 (and not even a Gallifreyan one), but 27 I dunno about…

(I’ve always wondered how that works, by the way. With how jealously the Master guards _his_ life (over that of others), how the heck did HE burn through his remaining regenerations _that_ fast? All I can think is that perhaps he pissed off a VERY strict culture and they were determined to _really_ kill him…and he got away at the last second. I dunno.)

Anyway…as for who the “projection” will be, all the even remotely reasonable (and some that aren’t) possibilities have been postulated by now, so I don’t really have anything relevant to add here. Except that I love how you draw One, again, as always, Rich, the thing with Elmo was hilarious :P and I am, of course, waiting on tenterhooks (whatever those are) along with everyone else.

Oh! Speaking of muppets with Doctor Who, did you know, I found a reference to Doctor Who _on_ the Muppet Show the other day? I just FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR cracking up, it surprised me so much…

Anyway.

…Notorious

288. IasasaI

Dan_raven, actually, in the Doctor Who Unbound series there IS a female incarnation of the Doctor. Not that the Unbound series is in any way canon, but it is an interesting story. In that story they had the rather interesting idea that if a Time Lord regenerates from a suicide it would cause them to switch genders >.< I rather like the idea, actually lol.

289. Captain Shade

So all they have to do is commit suicide again, and swith back again.

290. Child of Zion

Hey guys! I’m back!

Theory on the Doctor’s infinate lifespan.

*SPOILER FOR THE DOCTOR WHO MOVIE (the real one, not the crappy ones)*

The Doctor says he’s half-human, on his mother’s side. So, maybe the differance in his genes will keep the regenerations going?
“Proof”:
1. The Doctor says regeneration is a Time Lord trick-only Time Lords can do it (or perhaps a Time Lord’s kids-I can never figure out if the Terraforming thing saved her or if she regenerated. I think the Terraforming thing, because otherwise she would’ve regenerated right away.)

2.”Children of Gallifrey” go to the Time Lord acadamy-not “Time Children”, which kinda supports my theory that once you have graduated, you are turned into a Time Lord and given your 12 regenerations. Also, additional regenerations can be given.

So, maybe while his genes recieved the regenerations just fine, he will live forever because of his half-humaness (appologies to all who are trying to forget that the movie ever happened. I actually really liked it…)? Only time will tell.

*SPOILER END*

So, anyway, that’s it. Bye!

ps-Let’s help Rich put up missing posters for his muse. Let all rewards be payed in brownies. :D

291. Captain Shade

I think Rich’s muse is fine. I think it’s the RL that’s keeping him from getting new pages done.

292. Mreen

I am hoping they let the 13th body be the end for the Doctor, that when that actor leaves, he can’t regenerate again. Of course, then something else will happen so we’ll have the Doctor appear a new way (we’ve seen the Master use his tardis to take over another body, we’ve seen minds preserved in computers – I can see someone else programming the Doctor’s mind into someone’s body …and eventually the body could be altered to get a new set of regenerations. Or the TimeLords coming back and ressurecting the Doctor as they did the Master (similar reasons) so he’d have 12 new regenerations to mess with.

Just so long as they dont ignore the rule about 13 lives/12 regenerations, they have an end for that lucky actor when he decides to leave that makes it worthy of all the Doctors we’ve had, I’d be happy. A new start over ignoring the problem is always preferable.

293. Sten Darker

I’ve heard theories that the episode FAmily of Blood might discreetly meen that the Doctor reset his regenerations.

I highly doubt that. However, its interesting to think about.

perfect Doctor lifespan! (don’t steal this, this is my pre-planned timeline for my audio theater. don’t read if you plan to take ME seriously.) at the end of the 11th regeneration, the Doctors time is split in half. one regenerates, the other does somthing that resets his regerations. The one that regenerated, faced with mortality, becomes the Valyard. The other one, continues life as The Doctor. At the end of this Doctor’s 13 regenerations, he gets one more regeneration, because he needs to be alive alittle longer to save the universe. then, at the end of that life, its all over.

294. Rich

Holy crap. 300 posts.
You guys know there’s a forum, right?

295. Lord_baz

Forum? What matter of madness is this? Heh.

Seriously though. This is brilliance. Oh dear GOD this is BRILLIANT! Now I’m all out of pages. The worst part of webcomics is going through a fantastic archive and getting to a good point in the story and… “What? The next is broken? No! Oh wait, that’s todays daaaaaamn. Damnit. I need more! MORE”

Which is what has just happened to me with this. Keep up the awesome work… and I may just have to go read through the archive again. :D

How about below each page (or last page in a multi-publication day) a link to a new thread on the page?

301. Hilary

Yeah; we may have to go there. My ISP’s going to start sending me hate mail again. :P
