This strip is really impressing the heck out of me. When it’s all done, maybe you could sell it to a publisher and get it printed as an official Who book. I’d suggest putting out some feelers with the “Doctor Who” licensing people, because this story is really a cut above 99 percent of the fan comics I’ve seen.
(To be clear, I meant that when it’s all done you could clean it up and ink it and color it and so on, THEN try to find a publisher! I like the sketchy look, but I don’t think the people who publish Doctor Who comics would go for it unless it was cleaned up a bit.)
Amusing as I find the trash-talk scene from “Doomsday”, your version has the advantage of being in-character for the critters involved.

I knew it! I knew Davros would be making an appearance sooner or later! Also, great homage to Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, Rich. Superb work as always.
You know, I know that Dr. Who prefers Sci-Fi over fantasy, but I’ve had an idea for a Dr. Who storyline where the Doctor, in between his 7th and 8th regenerations, finds himself in the afterlife. He doesn’t have a pleasant time, though, as some of his worst foes (Davros, Suketh, Lady Peniforte, ect.) try to drag him into Hell with them. The struggle to preserve his soul could account for the difficulties encountered as he shifts to his eighth form. It’s just an idea I had, what do the rest of you think?

You’re probably gonna hate me for this Rich, but something about your style reminds me of the old Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett cartoons in the Dr. Who magazine from some years ago.
Not that that’s a bad thing, the Qunn/Howett cartoons were a total hoot, and I’m loving this story. Keep it up my friend.

FINALLY! I was wondering when Davros was getting his disembodied head into this comic. And is that a “Doomsday” reference I spy?
I had a cool overlapping storyline going for some of our RPG stuff where the Borg were actually cybermen who had jumped off of Mondas during it’s distant swing through the galaxy before it came back to Earth.

My idea was to show how the pre-war Imperial Daleks and Mondasian Cybermen were essentially the same as those from Doomsday in some ways, different in others. So I had a similar conversation but truncated so it wouldn’t be too unweildy.
When I watched that sequence, I was at the edge of my seat, eyes were bugged and glued, and the little geek in my heart had tears of pure joy trickling down his cheeks.
I ignored the little wierdnesses… like sarcastic Daleks… because it didn’t matter. These two universal giants were finally clashing before our eyes!
The Daleks in Doomsday may have been sarcastic, but one has to remember that they were built up from human DNA, had nearly religious beliefs concerning their Emperor, and also had *names*. They weren’t your average Daleks.
Actually, I’m pretty sure the Doomsday Daleks were unassociated with the Badwolf Daleks. They were a contingency plan of the pre-war Daleks. All the human/dalek hybrids from Badwolf/Crossing of the Ways were wiped out by Time Vortex Rose.
However, they did have Names and did have a more creative view point then your average Dalek soldier to make them more individualistic.
Also this comic rules, though I know nothing about Davros, I’m learning a lot about Who backstory reading this.

It looks more like they’re all sporing big bushy 70s mustaches to me. But that just makes them cooler!
Ah, having taken a look back on it, the thing that got me confused was Rose mentioning to them how she vaporized the Emperor. That connected them with the Bad Wolf groupies in my mind afterward.
Still, yes, different outlook for those Daleks in particular, so them relatively bursting with personality isn’t really out of place.
Actually, the new series Daleks are also differant from the old series, by the fact that they’ve been majorly upgraded due to the Time War.
Temoral circuts, the ability to regenerate using a DNA sample from a time traveler (just a touch with do), shields, full articlation, flying (Hovering up stairs was shown in the old series, but not outright flying. They needed repulsorcraft for that), etc.
War has in interesting effect on technological growth. And after they “accuired” time travel, and decided to take ove the universe (including Gallifrey this time), spuring on the “Last Great Time War”. They had to improve, an adapt….
Thuse came the tech upgrades, as well as the Cult of Skaro, a Dalek Emperor that was willing to use non Kaled DNA to keep his troops going, etc.
And don’t forget that during the DNA touch regeneration bit, some elements of the time traveler is absorbed into the Dalek. Which is why the lone Dalek in the 9th Doctor episode “Dalek” Went all soft and blubbery (Rose touched it). And the sarcastic Dalek was touched by Mickey.

The Daleks in “Doomsday” weren’t Badwolf Daleks, but they were from the Cult of Skarro, so they had…imagination…of a sort?

During Doomsday, the Cybermen had no idea who the Daleks were, so they literally bit off far more than they could upgrade. Here, they were fully aware they were screwed. I rather like the how you touched on the conversation but made it very “classic” Who-like.
So… Davros lives. I can’t say I’m surprised. But this is perfect. He’s never met Two before, the younger Doctor can slip under his radar and cause som havoc for the Imperial Daleks.
Did I mention how I love the interlacing stories? Like a well-made rug, it’s a tangled mess underneath, but they all flow together nicely on top. I think I mentioned it. But it bears repeating. Keep up the good work.
Ohhhh, of course it’s Davros, where would the Daleks be without him? And I take it he’s still Emperor, at least for this set of Daleks.
And I agree w/Fizzix. The 80’s Cybermen were very “pouty.” The new series look is way cooler, much more threatening.
That Davros lives isn’t really much of a stretch. The last time we saw him he was jumping out of his ship in a lifepod just before it got blown up.

The darker side of McCoy seems to be emerging.
It’s almost like a season of the new series. Every episode has little things that slowly start to add up for a bit dramatic finish.
It wouldn’t be a stretch if Davros had been dipped in acid and blasted into ashes. Bad guys always come back.

They’re less impressive than the Cybermen.
That being said, I came up with a cool multi-universe explanation about how the Borg were offshoots of the original Mondasian Cybermen.

Hey, any chance of us getting to see the Cybus Cybermen? A battle between Mondasian Cybermen and Cybus Cybermen. Or even better, an alliance. Similar to the Dalek Thay/Cybermen scene in Doomsday, but the other guys accept. “You propose an alliance?” “This is correct.” “Request……accepted.” The ultimate Cyberman army. They’d be pretty much unstoppable. Of course, they’d also combine the “upgrade” machines with conversion chambers…and that leaves a huge weakness to gold…and possibly ununoctium…
Oh piffle, a repeat of “Doomsday”. I swear, one day the Cybermen will get their due! One day!
