Ooh, really enjoying this and am glad I found it. Love the dual sonic screwdriver bit.
    Can’t wait for more!

  2. Camille

I just love how you draw 4, it’s really him :)

  3. ColinG

Love the sneaky Bad Wolf reference! Ha!

  4. Lisa

Ah, what a joy to see this before I go to work. ^^ And I didn’t even notice the Bad Wolf reference ’til ColinG said something. LOL

  5. George

Nor did I see the BW until you mentioned it! I love visual gags like that. Indeed, 4 is rendered fabulously.

  6. Bunny

I spy with my little eye… a BW reference! Hah! Is that coincidence, or is the phrase going to be rather important in the coming story? I wonder…

Wait, though! As glad as I am that Four and Nine escaped, what about Six and his cunning plan? I wanted to hear what the Dalek told him… Oh well. Stellar work, as always, you get a gold star. *stars you*

  7. Ibishtar

    Loved the close-ups!

  8. joe england

Nine still seems kind of small, here… he’s only two inches shorter than Four. Is space/time distorting between them? Wouldn’t surprise me…

  9. DrkFire666

    It’s the hair mate.

  10. Sean

Wait, you just left us dangling with SIx’s plan! Wonderful! You really SHOULD write for Doctor Who.

Good job with Tom and Christopher. Those two are a good team.

  11. Gecks

ooooOOOOoOHHHh, nice exchange of looks there!, are you pondering what i’m pondering? yes, but wiat will the children look like? nice suspence!

    keep up the magic :)

  12. Gecks

maybe when all this is over, this weill be a good chance for five to get his sonic screwdriver back WOOOOOO!

  13. Liz

Awesome visual portrayal of Four. He and Nine really do make a good team.

  14. Sean

I just noticed that Four and Nine have got big honkin’ noses!

  15. Kevin

One spelling note: It’s supposed to spell “descended”, not “decended”. But otherwise very clever.

  16. Phantom Drummer

I’m with Joe on this one…was Four really that tall?

The bit with the dual screwdrivers is absolutely bril. Love that Time Lord telepathy. It’s like “Wonder Doctors’ powers – activate!”

  17. Rich

    Hey all!
Thanks for the kind words all! (”Aaarggh!” -the sound of a Cyberman expiring because of a gold star)
As for why the Doctor is so tall… I never bothered to look up their actual sizes. I just went with impressions. The 3rd and 4th Doctors seem very tall to me. Pertwee with his grandios looming brightness and Baker with his lanky ganglyness.

    The 1st, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th all seem of average height.

the 2nd and 7th, tiny. I’ve actually met Sylvester McCoy and I towered over him. And I’m not a tall man.

So yeah, I exaggerated, but that’s how they seem in my brain and that’s what I’m drawing here, my recollections and impressions of how these personas operated.

  18. Megan

Aahahah! Very clever Bad Wolf ref in there! I almost didn’t spot it.

If anyone’s curious as to the actual sizes of the various Doctors, I did some research and came up with a list. Since I am vain, I will show it off again.
From various sources, here are the respective heights of each of the last eight Doctors. Couldn’t find Hartnell’s or Troughton’s, sorry. Eccleston’s is a little uncertain, some also say he’s 6′0″ even, others say he’s 6′2″.

    Jon Pertwee: 6’3”
    Tom Baker: 6’3”
    Peter Davison: 6’1”
    Colin Baker: 6’0”
    Sylvester McCoy: 5’6”
    Paul McGann: 5’8”
    Christopher Eccleston: 6’1”
    David Tennant: 6’1”

On further research, Paul McGann might be slightly taller… some sources have him at 5′8.5″, while he himself is quoted as saying he’s 5′9″. I’d like to trust him, but actors are sometimes known to add an inch or two. So who knows? The IMDB has him at 5′10″!
I did hear from someone that Hartnell was around 5′11″, while Troughton was about 5′6″. That could possibly have just been guesswork, though.

  20. Sean

Heh! What d’you know? I’m taller than ALL of them, by one inch!

  21. ScaledMystic

Ah, I didn’t even catch the BW reference until I went and re-read. I was too captivated by “the look” to notice!!

  22. dragon64

That’s handy Joe, I think I’ll keep that for future reference.

  23. Mreen

I just love the looks the Doctors are giving each other in the first 3 panals – telepathy, shelepathy – they both just knew they needed what to do – they’re the Doctor!

Very nice drawings in those exchange of looks there :)

  24. metalfanatic

I like how Doc #4 looks in that last panel. I though he’d looked too skinny in the neck and too “cartoony” in the facial features before. He’s my fave Doctor so I’m likely to be more picky about him than the rest. :)

Also, this comic strip is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. Love ♥ Shine

Well, the only way you could make this plotline more complex would be to throw in Bad Wolf. And maybe Torchwood, but no one loves them. Honestly, who would watch that show if it didn’t have Captain Jack Harkness in there? It started out mediocre, and pulled a nosedive like three episodes in.

  26. Rich

Did you miss the Bad Wolf reference, then?

  27. Love♥Shine

No, which is why I’m curious to see if it actually has anything to do with anything, or if it’s just an Easter Egg. Either way, I’m happy, just interested.

After all, I’ve always wondered how they could have all that lead up with Bad Wolf and not do something…more.

I mean, offing half a million Daleks isn’t bad, and restoring life is a nice touch, but when you have all the power of space and time at your disposal…
Even if it was only for the one time, I wouldn’t be surprised if it caused all sorts of time ripple anomaly distortion rift things, which might be part of the goings-on here.

  28. Rich

Agreed. What annoyed me the most was the huge buildup and it turned out not to mean anything at all. Rose just plucked the term out her butt and scattered it around the universe. I thought it was going to have some kind of WOLFY meaning to it. Y’know, like Fenric’s been hunting him or something all season. But no.

  29. scionofgrace

To add to the height debate, unless Davison has shrunk (which is entirely possible due to age), he cannot be the same height as Tennant. In “Time Crash,” Tennant is visibly taller. Not by much, but when they stood face to face, Davison definitely had to look up.

    Heights fascinate me, anyway.

  30. Dalek

pareing up 4 and 10 was one of thoughs ideas that make me wonder ‘why didn’t I think of that its so bloody brilliant’

  31. me, myself

Aww, 4 and 9 look so cute together. keep up the good work

  32. John Feaster

I love that “So…we’re both on the same page, then?” moment we see between 4 and 9. Just a glance…and they both know exactly what to do ;>)

  33. Borjan

I wouldn’t go further with the height thing. Once when I measured myself I was about 6″1″, but a few weeks later I was 6″0′. Not to be vain, but I AM only 18. I’m just saying sources can be incorrect, or vary. Peter probably did shrink a bit, though, since he’s greying as of ‘Time Crash’. Remarkably, his voice hasn’t really changed and, disregarding the 25 years now, he’s still, recognisably, the Fifth Doctor.

Awesome passing glance between those two, they really would work well as a team. AFTER, that is, they put their vanities aside – you’ve basically put 4, 6 and 9, who are the most openly arrogant Doctors, together, which means they might or might not get along very well. Kudos to you!
