The 3rd and 5th Doctors arrive at a space port where a lot of warships are preparing for battle. They run into the Alpha Centauri ambassador.

I love how you draw Five’s eyes sometimes as just little black dots, hahahaaha. It’s so appropirate.
And now I wonder what Five’ll do while Three and Alpha Centaurii are off catching up.
That one ship looks like starbug from Red Dwarf…
*shakes head* Ugh. Red Freakin’ Dwarf.
It’s meant to look like the earth ship from “Frontier in Space”
Mmm Five…
Poor Fivey, no one ever seems to take him seriously. It’s especially funny since he’s actually the older one, hee!
I wonder what Five will uncover? Nothing good, I hope! ^_^
Great balls of fire!
I am greatly enjoying this comic and haven’t commented in a while, so I thought I would do so. I must say that I think your pacing of the story is excellent and really matches that of a Who serial. Also, one of my professors looks like Three. Just thought I’d share that with everyone.
Loving it! Poor Five…everyone seems to dislike him or overlook him. Earlier Ten said he wasn’t always proud of him. I’ve only seen a few serials from Peter Davison’s era, so I guess I’m missing something…
He gets trashed pretty badly by some of his other incarnations.
(Dialogue paraphrased and possibly out of order…)
In “The Five Doctors”
2: “So you’re the latest model, are you?”
5: “And the most agreeable.”
2: “Certainly the most impudent.”
3: “I see our clothes sense hasn’t improved much either.”
and from 6 right after regeneration in “The Twin Dilemma”
6: “This is a vast improvement on my last incarnation. I was never happy with that one. It had a sort of feckless charm that simply wasn’t MEl!”
Peri:”But I liked you, you were almost young and sweet…”
6: “Sweet? Sweet? Effete. SWEET? Sweet, that says it all!”
Haha, Thanks. Very funny! Poor guy. Well, of course 6 was always a bit full of himself. Ah well, it would be odd to meet oneself.
I agree with Peri. He seemed nice.
Hmph. I liked Red Dwarf….
Quite amusing little joke. 3rd and 5th needed some showtime.
I’m so glad you keep cranking these out – always keeping us begging for more tho!
This has been great so far! The artwork is actually perfect for this story. As for poor 5, he always got the fuzzy end of the lolli it seems, at least to me. Like ALL the Doctors, he’s great, but his stories were never up to the character’s height. The same goes for 6, in my opinion for both.
Pity that so many are no longer with us, this would look fantastic animated, once it’s all done!
Thanks Rich for all your doing here, you are a gentleman for sharing this!
Hehe. Also in the Missing Adventures book ‘Cold Fusion’ the Seventh Doctor holds the Fifth in utter contempt, calling him “bland” and “not even one of the good ones”.
Davison was always my favorite Doctor.
I am really enjoying these, so far. It took me a while to get used to artwork (the cartoony, cute quality isn’t what I think of for Doctor Who) but it’s grown on me and the writing is really spot-on. I’m hoping to see more 4, though! He was always my favorite.
I plan for each and every Doctor to have a chance to be the hero of this one.
And yeah, I’m with you. 4 is my favorite too.
This promises to be quite a grand adventure. And I’m glad you’re giving every Doctor a chance to shine with his own particular talents.
I saw a link to this on a who forum that I post at a while ago and have been hooked ever since. While 4 is my favorite as well, five has been the most affable of all the doctors so far.
Waiting for more to come can be grating at times, but if it continues as it has, it is well worth the wait. Thank you for sharing this with us.
had a print out of one of the stories, pages, at work, and a none who fan, picked it up and, commented endlessly on how good the artwork was, and the writting, she marveled at how wonderful it all was!
I said, yup, if i had half his talent, id have it made
My goodness.
Well, I have all my talent and I don’t think I ‘have it made’, at the moment. The animation industry is a bit cutthroat, like any industry I guess. It’s difficult. I’m doing alright for the moment, but it’s a crapshoot.
What I do have made is my online comics and the fact that people are enjoying them. So thank you for reading and I’ll update whenever I can.
I trust that Five will get some respect at last in “Time Crash” — airing tonight!
“The Ten Doctors” is the perfect thing to tide me over as I count down the hours!
I like how 5 picked up on how the “he’s actually me, only later” explanation would only burn up precious time, and quickly assumed the role of the “companion” that Alpha Centauri assumed that he was playing. Teamwork!
Five’s sad but accepting expression as they leave him out because he’s too nice to protest and Three’s vaguely triumphant expression make me feel so sorry for Five. I want to scoop him up in my arms and give him a hug, the poor guy.
5 and 3 do a good team even in your comic. Hey I like the way you drew them!
Thanks!
Five: the only Doctor who wouldn’t immediately throw a hissy-fit at being called a “young companion”!
I LOVE the way you draw Pertwee.
Why does everyone else hate 5 and 9 when they are themselves? *cries*
Excellent drawings of Jon Pertwee in this instalment!
Aww. Poor five. 9 or 4 is my favorite, but I really like five. Of course I only saw the one four part episode where he saves the telepathic aliens from scientists and a snake and the end of time. I don’t remember what it was called – maybe ‘Kinda’? does anyone know?
Down with all this 5 bashing! Always has been my favourite (him and 3, so them being teamed up is a bonus for me). A more reserved, nicer doctor stuck between the zany madness of 4 and the borderline meglomaniac of 6 (both easily the most arrogant doctors)
And kudos to you Rich, got pointed to this yesterday and now re-reading the lot. Great work altogether and very, very funny (4, 6 and 9 in the Tardis was hilarious).
I’m reading Three’s expression as more of a mix of slight embarrassment, pride in his future self’s smarts in picking up and going with the situation so smoothly, and relief that Five’s *not* pitching a fit, and that he(Three) can get right to the sensitive discussion without wasting time in temporal technobabble. And to me, Five seems just fine with being able to snoop about on his own, not that dejected, but that’s my opinion of his expression—your mileage may vary.
Re-reading all the way through while waiting for future pages because IT IS JUST THAT GOOD.
Ah, poor five…he’s been demoted from Doctor to Companion :>)
I found 5’s being confused with a companion downright hilarious; although he kinda looks like a young companion to 3, specially if you don’t much of Regeneration, I mean a young man hanging with the Doctor.
Well, Five’s MY favourite, though I really like Two and Four as well, and Ten. I reckon he’s the nicest, least arrogant and most selflessly compassionate of all the Doctors. Even so, the others have their merits.
Granted, Five was more willing to take a submissive role if he felt it necessary, and only reaserted his authority at certain intervals (eg: ‘Time Crash’)
I like 10 and 5 best so far, but I’m yet to meet them all.
just come across this from links in a Dr Who forum, and this is amazing!
Just as 3 is about to point out that 5 is also him, 5 decides to pretend he is just a companion and take a look around.
My top 4 favourites are 10, 5, 9 & 4, with not much seperating them.
I can just imagine Alpha Centari’s high-pitched voice speaking, especially the line “No offence meant to your young companion.” That line makes me spilt my sides! Poor Five. No one takes him seriously.
