The 10 Doctors: page 6

While the 3rd and 7th Doctors have a little talk with the 9th Doctor about some interesting choices he’s made recently, the 6th Doctor (who’s somewhere between Revelation of the Daleks and Trial of a Time Lord part 1 The Mysterious Planet shows up in time to be indignant, (*gasp*, no!) and the 1st Doctor arrives in time to start making sense of it all.

Incidently, the 1st Doctor has been plucked from a time before the original 1963 pilot episode An Unearthly Child.

…you know, it took the second time through reading this to catch on.

But yes. Six is definately a mid-life crisis.

A mid-life crisis in a terribly awesome jacket that I want to MAKE.

  2. Pauline

Yeah, Six is defo a middie crise, and then there’s Peri….

  3. Woodrow "asim" Jarvis Hill

The last panel make me smirk out “Daddy’s Home, and you’re all in TROUBLE…”

  4. Sugerpie Dalekcakes

One’s ‘None of this nonsense, now’ look just makes me giggle, I agree.

  5. Sammie

Love the chat the doctors have with Nine: “lying about your age, unhealthy relations with your pretty young companion…shaved head…leather?!” And Yay for One showing up.

  6. Levanta T.

Pauline, so true…Peri is about three crises…and Three would so do that. Probably thinks Nine’s insane/punk now…but I’ve only seen Three in Monster of Peladon. Didn’t even finish the serial.

  7. Luke

    The Sixth Doctor rules!

  8. ch1ps

heh, “Mid-life…Mid-life CRISIS? MID-LIFE CRISIS?!?!?! OF ALL THE CONFOUNDED…!”

    ROFL! (literally)

Ah, i wish i could watch the classic series. Apparently there are repeats showing where I am but i don’t know when or where they’re showing.

  9. Levanta T.

So why does everyone (and I do mean everyone) I know like Nine best but previous incarnations just hate him? Not fair. I’m writing a crossover episode with the Ninth Doctor, Rose, and the USS Enterprise NCC-1701. The first one.

  10. Gwirrin

Levanta: Post it when it’s done! :D I for one would LOVE to read that! :D

  11. Gabriel

I LOVE IT. Seeing #1’s expression and the silence that follows is priceless!

    F*** tennant!

  12. emilY

    These are amazing!!!

  13. emilY

    brilliant ideas!

  14. Child of Zion

    Gabriel! Cool it!

  15. Sarah

I can’t stop laughing at the 4th panel. XD. I freaking love this comic

  16. Tamfang

If #9 is at least six hundred years older than #3, and we certainly haven’t seen six hundred years of the companions’ lives, then The Doc must have spent a heck of a lot of time gallivanting without them.

  17. Rich

Agreed, Tamfang. There are spaces in and around the show where you can fit in missing adventures…. like the book series of the same name!
It’s hard to find places where the Doctor had companionless adventures, but there are places. Here’s a few:

The 1st Doctor and his granddaughter susan traveled for a while without humans, and assuming she’s long lived too…. that could have been a while.

The season 6b fanon, if we assume that the 2nd Doctor’s later appearances are proof that he didn’t regenerate at the end of The War Games, but was used as an agent for the Celestial Intervention Agency for a while, then he could have traveled alone for goodness knows how long! (See “The Three Doctors” and “The Five Doctors”), then later was given back some companions to travel with (See “The Two Doctors”).

After “Inferno” and before “The Auton Invasion”,(between season) the 3rd Doctor had no assistant while working with UNIT, though he was stranded on Earth so it couldn’t have been that long. Also between “The Green Death” and “The Time Warrior”, but he could have traveled around in the TARDIS then and come back shortly after he left.

Assuming the 4th Doctor went straight to Gallifrey after “The Hand of Fear”, then between “The Deadly Assassin” and “The Face of Evil” he could have traveled around for ages without a companion!
Romana’s travels with the 4th Doctor could have gone on and on and on, since they’re both Time Lords. There’s a good space for it after “The Armageddon Factor” and before “Destiny of the Daleks” for Romana I. Romana 2’s adventures the following season weren’t as linear so there could be lots of stuff going on between episodes.
We don’t know how long Alzarians live, so the 4th Doctor could have traveled alone with Adric for a while between “Warrior’s Gate” and “The Keeper of Trakken”.

The 5th Doctor could have traveled with just Nyssa for ages after “Time Flight” and before “Arc of Infinity” since we don’t know how long Trakkenites live… and this would be when Captain Shade would be positively adrool. All Nyssa all the time. We also don’t know how long Trionians live, so the 5th Doctor and Turlough could have had lots of time just the two of them between “Resurrection of the Daleks” and “Planet of Fire”.

We assume that after Peri disappeared at the end of “Mindwarp” (which has to have taken place between “Revelation of the Daleks” and “The Trial of a TimeLord”, the 6th Doctor was taken straight to the space station for the trial, but that whole show muddles up fact, fiction, memory and lies so who knows. He may actually have been at Peri’s wedding and travelled alone for a long time (and the Valeyard wiped his memory of it all) before he was scooped up by Time Lords.
Sometime after “Survival” (and “Dimensions in Time”), the 7th Doctor drops off Ace and we KNOW he travels alone as we see him relaxing by himself in the TARDIS in the FOX film “The Enemy Within”, and he’s somewhat older looking.
The 8th Doctor may never have had a companion and we don’t know how long he lasted.
The 9th Doctor’s been traveling alone for a while before he met Rose in “Rose”, since we saw all those photos of him in different places, how long we don’t know, but we assume it wasn’t TOO long since he seems to not have seen his own reflection in that time. Very odd. There’s also him taking off and coming back at the end. In a time machine, there could be centuries between these appearances!
The 10th Doctor’s had a few chances to travel alone, too. After “The Runaway Bride” (where this comic takes place!), and before “Smith & Jones” there’s an undefined amount of time. Also between “Voyage of the Damned” and “Partners in Crime”.

Yeah, I’m removing your spoilers too, buddy. You’re not immune!

  18. Grant

I swear, Sevens expression when he talks about when he REALLY was 900 years old is one of the most detailed in the whole comic.

    And Sixth’s reaction is priceless.

  19. Tamfang

Other opportunities are any time when The Doctor is in the TARDIS and the companions, however briefly, aren’t; provided that he can steer it accurately, which is not always true.

  20. John Feaster

Bah! Say what you will, but I LOVED the sixth Doctor! Baker’s manic Doctor was unstable and always on the brink of a meltdown…but I that just made him more interesting. Now, the stories durring his seasons…suffered…

  21. Randy

Okay, Colin’s voice is perfect too. And Hartnell’s is pitch-perfect, and he hasn’t even spoken yet!

  22. Nadia

My favorite bit is #3’s exasperated facepalm. XD

  23. Xel Unknown

For some reson I can’t help but think All hail the Great and Powerful ONE when I get to the end of this comic.

  24. pasttheshy

Busted! Granddad’s home and he’s not happy.

  25. Steve_E

That’s right, whip ‘em all into shape BIll!

“lying about your age, unhealthy relations with your pretty young companion. . .”

    You’ve spoken my mind. Thankyou!

  26. docfan2009

Everyone who wants to watch the classic Doctor who can go to Tardismedia on Dailymotion. She/He has every episode availible and some reconstructions of the 1 and 2nds doctor’s episodes that are missing.

  27. Suzanne

    One. *squee*
Also *mid life crisis* take two. HA!

  28. Violetta

“We also don’t know how long Trionians live, so the 5th Doctor and Turlough could have had lots of time just the two of them between “Resurrection of the Daleks” and “Planet of Fire”.”

Geez way to send our minds to the slash fanfic place :-)
